Beaucoup plus silencieux qu'auparavant.

Le Yoga Book 9i à double écran est de retour cette année avec de nouveaux processeurs Meteor Lake-U et des graphiques Arc intégrés. Les différences et les avantages en termes de performances entre les modèles 2023 et 2024 ne sont toutefois pas ceux auxquels nous nous attendions.

Le Lenovo Yoga Book 9i 2-en-1 Dual Screen a fait ses débuts au CES 2023 avant d'être lancé cet été-là au prix de 2000 dollars US. Pour 2024, le fabricant a remplacé le processeur Raptor Lake-U par Meteor Lake-U tout en gardant presque tout le reste inchangé.

Notre unité de test est livrée avec le CPU Core Ultra 7 155U, 16 Go de RAM LPDDR5x-7467, 1 TB M.2 2242 PCIe4 x4 NVMe SSD, et deux écrans tactiles OLED HDR500 identiques de 2800 x 1800 pour le même prix de lancement de 2023 de $2000.

Cas - Double affichage

Il n'y a pas de changement au niveau du châssis, à l'exception de la nouvelle touche Microsoft Co-Pilot sur le clavier Bluetooth inclus. Il aurait été intéressant de voir de nouvelles options de couleurs pour mieux différencier les options 2023 et 2024.

Les mêmes panneaux OLED Samsung SDC ATNA33AA02-0 sont revenus du modèle 2023, ce qui signifie que l'expérience visuelle n'a pas changé. Bien que les écrans soient vifs et très spacieux pour le multitâche, le taux de rafraîchissement de 60 Hz commence à se faire sentir lorsque d'autres ordinateurs portables OLED comme le Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro ou le Asus ZenBook offrent un taux de rafraîchissement de 90 Hz ou plus.

Les deux écrans présentent toujours les mêmes comportements gênants que le modèle 2023. Par exemple, le positionnement des écrans se réinitialise toujours après le redémarrage, même si un troisième écran externe est connecté. Vous devez donc vous attendre à passer beaucoup de temps à réorganiser vos écrans lorsque vous connectez l'ordinateur portable.

Le temps de réponse d'un écran mesure la rapidité à laquelle l'écran est capable de changer une couleur pour une autre. Un temps de réponse élevé se traduit par une image floutée pour les objets en mouvement. Les joueurs bénéficieront de faibles latences d'affichage en jeu.

Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion)

Afin d'abaisser la luminosité de l'écran, certains ordinateurs portables font varier très rapidement le rétroéclairage entre éteint et allumé. La fréquence à laquelle le rétroéclairage s'éteint et se rallume est normalement fixée à une valeur qui permet de rendre la variation indétectable à l'œil nu? Si la fréquence est trop basse, certaines personnes peuvent être sujettes à une fatigue oculaire, des maux de tête ou même percevoir les variations.
Scintillement / MLI (Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) décelé 60 Hz ≤ 100 Niveau de luminosité

Le rétroéclairage de l'écran scintille à la fréquence de 60 Hz (certainement du fait de l'utilisation d'une MDI - Modulation de largeur d'impulsion) à un niveau de luminosité inférieur ou égal à 100 % . Aucun scintillement ne devrait être perceptible au-dessus de cette valeur.

La fréquence de rafraîchissement de 60 Hz est extrêmement faible, de grands risques de fatigue oculaire accrue et de maux de tête en cas d'utilisation prolongée.

En comparaison, 53 % des appareils testés n'emploient pas MDI pour assombrir leur écran. Nous avons relevé une moyenne à 8715 (minimum : 5 - maximum : 343500) Hz dans le cas où une MDI était active.

La modulation de largeur d'impulsion est présente à tous les niveaux de luminosité, y compris au maximum. Sa fréquence est d'environ 237 Hz entre 0 et 57 % de luminosité, avant de passer à 60 Hz à partir de 58 % de luminosité.

Conditions d'essai

Nous avons réglé le système en mode Performance avant d'exécuter les tests de référence ci-dessous. Lenovo Vantage a également été redessiné cette année pour faciliter la navigation, mais ses zones de texte n'utilisent toujours pas toute la largeur de l'écran et il y a donc de grandes étendues d'espace blanc vide, comme le montrent les captures d'écran ci-dessous.

Processeur

A ne pas confondre avec le Core Ultra 7 155Hle Core Ultra 7 155U est la variante ULV avec des fréquences d'horloge et un GPU intégré plus lents. Dans ce cas, le Core Ultra 7 155U de notre Lenovo est environ 35 % plus lent que le Core Ultra 7 155H du Yoga 9 2-en-1 14IMH9. Le delta est assez important, au point que le CPU de notre Yoga Book 2024 est à peine plus rapide que le Core i7-1355U du Yoga 9 2-en-1 14IMH9 Core i7-1355U du modèle 2023, plus ancien, par un pourcentage à un chiffre.

Performances du GPU - Arc 4 ressemble à Iris Xe

Contrairement à la série Core Ultra H et à son Arc 8 les Core Ultra U sont dotés d'une carte graphique intégrée Arc 4 intégrés. Arc 4 est nettement plus lent, de 30 à 50 %, ce qui le place loin derrière l'ancienne Radeon 680M. En fait, le nouveau GPU est à peine plus rapide que l'Iris Xe 96 EUs Iris Xe 96 EUs du Yoga Book 9 de l'année dernière, comme le montrent leurs scores 3DMark presque identiques et leurs performances de jeu ci-dessous.

Plusieurs baisses de la fréquence d'images sont présentes lorsque l'ordinateur tourne au ralenti Witcher 3 ce qui suggère une interruption de l'activité en arrière-plan ou un problème sous-jacent au niveau du pilote. En revanche, le modèle 2023 affiche des taux de rafraîchissement stables, sans bégaiement, lors du même test.

Émissions - nettement plus silencieuses

Bruit du système

Alors que les performances du CPU et du GPU sont stables, le bruit du ventilateur est étonnamment beaucoup plus silencieux que sur le modèle de l'année dernière. La course à pied Witcher 3par exemple, plafonne à un peu plus de 27 dB(A) contre plus de 34 dB(A) sur le Yoga Book 9i 2023. Nous avons revérifié nos paramètres d'alimentation et répété le test juste pour être sûrs et les résultats n'ont pas changé.

Test de stress

La fréquence d'horloge du cœur et la consommation d'énergie de la carte ont atteint 3 GHz et 34 W, respectivement, lors de l'initialisation du stress Prime95. Cependant, après avoir atteint 85°C quelques secondes plus tard, le processeur descend à 1,8 GHz et 25 W afin de maintenir la température du cœur à 75°C. Les performances maximales de Turbo Boost sont donc de courte durée, comme on peut s'y attendre avec les ordinateurs portables équipés de processeurs de la série U.

La température du boîtier du processeur se stabilise à 83°C lorsqu'il fonctionne Witcher 3 contre 75 C sur le modèle de l'année dernière.

Consommation électrique

La course à pied Witcher 3 consomme environ 30 W contre 45 W pour le modèle 2023. Le nouveau GPU Arc 4 peut donc fournir les mêmes performances graphiques que l'Iris Xe 96 EU, mais avec une consommation d'énergie nettement inférieure, ce qui permet d'obtenir des performances supérieures par watt. Cela explique probablement les niveaux de bruit des ventilateurs plus faibles que prévu mentionnés ci-dessus.

Autonomie de la batterie

L'autonomie de la batterie du réseau local sans fil est pratiquement identique d'une année sur l'autre, soit environ 10 heures lorsque le deuxième écran est désactivé. Cependant, si les deux écrans sont activés et affichent principalement des couleurs blanches, l'autonomie du réseau local sans fil diminue de près de moitié pour atteindre 5,5 heures. Étant donné que la grande majorité des sites web ont des arrière-plans blancs, l'ouverture de plusieurs onglets de navigation sur les deux écrans OLED peut peser lourdement sur l'autonomie de la batterie.

Verdict - Plus silencieux, mais pas plus rapide

Une mise à niveau du processeur devrait normalement améliorer les performances, comme on peut raisonnablement s'y attendre, mais ce n'est pas le cas avec le Yoga Book 9i 2024. Au lieu de fonctionner plus rapidement que son prédécesseur 2023, la version 2024 fonctionne plus silencieusement et à des niveaux d'efficacité énergétique plus élevés. Les utilisateurs sont donc en mesure d'obtenir des niveaux de performance similaires tout en prolongeant l'autonomie de la batterie avec le nouveau modèle. Cela peut être décevant pour ceux qui espéraient des performances nettement plus rapides, mais les changements peuvent au moins améliorer les durées d'exécution pour les applications exigeantes.

Le Lenovo 2024 Yoga Book 9i apporte une meilleure efficacité énergétique, une accélération de l'IA et un bruit de ventilateur plus silencieux. Les performances et les fonctionnalités restent toutefois inchangées d'une année sur l'autre.

Il est intéressant de noter que le modèle 2024 est vendu au détail à 2 000 $, alors que le modèle 2023 est actuellement disponible à 1 900 $. La différence de prix est beaucoup plus faible que prévu, ce qui signifie que vous pouvez tout aussi bien acheter le modèle 2024 plutôt que le modèle 2023, du moins pour le moment. Espérons que nous verrons des baisses de prix plus importantes pour le modèle 2023 dans les mois à venir afin de rendre le Yoga Book 9i plus accessible à un public plus large, d'autant plus que les deux versions sont identiques en termes d'apparence, d'affichage et de performances globales.
