This is the first ever laptop released by Razer that isn’t intended for gamers. There’s no discrete GPU, instead relying upon Intel’s integrated HD Graphics 520, which is basically only good enough for Candy Crush. No, Razer is intending this ultrabook to go head-to-head with the likes of Apple’s Macbook and Dells XPS 13… and it’s done a bloody good job in the process.

Despite all the good the Razer Blade Stealth has to offer, there are just a few nagging issues that prevent us from bestowing higher accolades upon it. Razer really needs to improve the display situation. We would honestly rather see a brighter 1080p panel, if that's what it takes, than the QHD display in its current state.

The Blade Stealth is an excellent ultrabook, even if that’s all you ever plan to use it for. I’m not a fan of the USB-C charger method, at least in its current (read: flimsy) incarnation, but otherwise this is a feisty machine at an incredibly low price—especially given the fact it’s, you know, made by Razer. We’ll be sure to test the Blade Stealth again when Razer gets around to releasing its Thunderbolt 3 graphics amplifier, the Razer Core, but suffice it to say the Stealth is a smart buy regardless of whether you want it for semi-mobile gaming in the future.

If you're looking for a powerful and long lasting Ultrabook, keep looking. The Stealth only delivers on half of its promise to be thin, yet powerful. This laptop needs a bit more refinement before it can swing with the big Ultrabook hitters, like the Dell XPS 13 and Lenovo Yoga 900. As a notebook alone, the Razer Blade Stealth is too short-lived, but with the Razer Core, there may be still be hope for this otherwise awesome gaming Ultrabook.

The Blade Stealth stole the show at CES 2016 for good reason. This sleek Ultrabook, Razer’s first, is beautifully designed. The black all-aluminum exterior is of very high quality, and blissfully simple in appearance. It’s one of the thinnest notebooks on the market at 0.52 inches. Combined with its scant 2.75 pound carry weight, this is a notebook you’ll want to take everywhere.

Who'd have thought that Razer would make a high end Ultrabook that's a comparative bargain? For $999 you get a lot of great hardware and specs-- a really lovely IGZO QHD display, fast storage and a very classy chassis that's sturdy too. You can even go for 4K if you like, though I think that's overkill for such a small display and it will make the Intel HD 520 work harder and reduce battery life.

The Stealth is, as its name implies, svelte enough, though a little heavier than its competitors. Where things falter a bit is pricing. The Stealth starts at $999, but our $1,399 configuration is clearly a bit on the spendy side. Razer’s reviewer’s guide compares the device to a couple of pricier, under-configured computers, including the MacBook Air and Dell XPS 13, but just look at the Stealth vs. the more applicable Yoga 900: The base model Yoga has the same CPU, RAM, and SSD, and similar LCD resolution as the Stealth, but costs $200 less.

The Razer Blade Stealth (QHD) ($1,199 as tested) is a midrange ultraportable laptop with a sharp Quad High-Definition touch display and a premium, all-aluminum build. Like its higher-resolution-display brother, the $1399 Razer Blade Stealth (4K UHD), it features a sleek, lightweight design, fast performance, and the world's first RGB keyboard with per-key backlighting on a notebook. As is, it isn't suited to serious gaming, but you can add the upcoming Razer Core external graphics amplifier equipped with a desktop-class GPU. That way, it's a beefy gaming system at home, but can serve as a light, compact laptop on the road.

It's not a MacBook killer or an XPS slayer, but Razer has done an amazing job of combining its love of high-performance devices with a reasonable price. For $1,399, you get one of the most powerful Ultrabooks on the market and a simply stunning 4K display. And later this year, when the Stealth's graphics amplifier starts shipping, this device will transform into one formidable gaming machine.

The Razer Blade Stealth reminds us that Razer isn't just an up-and-coming notebook manufacturer anymore - they're squarely in position to take the throne. With wave after wave of Windows notebooks being made by all manner of manufacturer just not adding up to Apple's dominance of the notebook market over the past few years, it's not difficult to assume that the company may now just assume that no other company is up to the challenge.

For use as a travel laptop, I'd lean towards that QHD model, as the resolution is still more than high enough for something this size, plus it costs less and promises battery battery life. With a QHD display and 128GB of storage, it's a fantastic value if you're looking to hit that magic $999 number, and likely will run for significantly longer per charge, based on our previous experience with 4K vs. non-4K laptops.

For $999, the base model of the Razer Blade Stealth could be an excellent buy. It gets fast hardware, a QHD display, a Chroma keyboard and a nice trackpad, all tucked inside a compact and strongly built aluminum unibody. On the other side, you'll have to live with a shallow stroke keyboard and only average battery life, but I can live with these and overall I think this is for sure one of the best ultraportables available out there right now.

The new Blade Stealth is aggressively priced compared to most high-end ultrabooks on the market. Even when ignoring the $899.99 entry model with a Core i5 CPU, the $999.99 model is more affordable than many ultraportables like the HP Spectre, Lenovo Yoga 910 and Asus ZenBook 3, while packing better hardware. Dell has a competing $999.99 XPS 13 model but still can’t match the Razer Blade Stealth on hardware.

Razer is renowned for gaming systems, but this isn’t one. There’s no dedicated graphics processor. Instead, all the work is done by a brand new Intel Kaby Lake i7 processor. That’s right, even the basic model has an i7, but don’t get too excited – it only has two cores, and in our tests it performed to a similar level as the i5 in the MacBook Pro. That’s nothing to be ashamed of, and the built-in HD Graphics 620 GPU is enough for 4K video playback and light gaming.

The Razer Blade Stealth is an accomplished little laptop that can sidle up to the flashiest ultraportable laptops without seeming like the weird gamer kid in the corner. It’s slim, it’s moody, and you can tweak its personality with the multi-colour keyboard backlight: pink on black is a strong look. Its 4K screen is stunning if you don’t mind ultra-energetic Adobe RGB-style colours and while battery stamina isn’t amazing, it roughly matches the new MacBook with OLED touch panel. It’s a shame the cost of making this a home gaming laptop with the Core attachment is quite so high, but the Razer Blade Stealth convinces as a pure and simple ultra-light style laptop too. Black is back for everyone tired of brushed aluminium and “rose gold”. We’d recommend buying the cheaper version than we’re actually reviewing unless you absolutely need loads of ultra-fast storage and a 4K display. While the Quad-HD version loses the immense colour saturation, it’ll still look sharp across 12.5 inches and at £999 is a solid deal.

The Stealth has plenty going for it. It looks great, is thin and light and squeezes every last ounce of power out of its CPU. However, this comes at a cost. Battery life, screen size and noisy fans are all drawbacks that are hard to justify in a market so full of exceptional alternatives.

It’s enough of a featherweight to take on the move, with battery life to last all day (longer with the optional backup charger), but turns into a graphics god when you get home and hook up to the Core external GPU. The combination will put a significant dent in your bank balance, sure, but it beats the alternative. A dedicated gaming PC will easily set you back £800, and most ultrabooks start around the same amount - so the Blade Stealth actually works out as pretty good value.

The New Razer Blade Stealth is stylish, thin, and faster than before, with a measurably longer battery to boot. It's an all-around upgrade—there's no reason to buy the previous model now (except perhaps for a slashed price)—and there are more configuration options available if you'd like a ton of storage and a 4K display. If you want something that's thinner and more elegant, and you don't mind paying more money, the Asus ZenBook 3 is gorgeous and about as powerful as the Stealth, though it lacks the higher screen resolution and "fun" additions.

The Razer Blade Stealth includes a Core i7 processor and high-res touchscreen even in its lowest-end configuration; it has more ports than other 12-inch laptops and a fun Chroma backlit keyboard. It's bigger and heavier than 12-inch laptops from Apple, Asus and others. The thick bezel around the screen feels dated and configuration options are limited.

The $1,249 Razer Blade Stealth hovers on the brink of greatness. It's a simply gorgeous piece of machinery, accented by a lovely quad-HD display and a tantalizing Chroma keyboard. Then there's the Kaby Lake processor and integrated graphics, which deliver a 1-2 punch of overall performance and graphics prowess with a relatively speedy PCIe SSD. The optional $399 Core graphics amp can complete the package, by transforming the Stealth from a sexy productivity machine into an unadulterated gaming beast.

With the base model sitting at $1,399, it's pretty expensive even considering the decent array of hardware. This is another one of those cases where if you want the best on the market, you’ll have to pay a premium. Whether or not you can stomach the price is up to you, but as far as I’m concerned, the Blade Stealth is the best ultraportable currently available.

The Razer Blade Stealth is simultaneously stunning and a bit infuriating. For $1,599, you get one of the slimmest, prettiest ultraportable notebooks in the land. Thanks to its Core i7 processor, the svelte stunner can multitask with the best of them, and its integrated graphics let you play a number of popular titles at surprisingly high frame rates. And if you need more oomph, invest in the Razer Core and watch the spark fly.

If you’d already considered spending £2,000 on a gaming notebook, though, Razer’s two products can be a tempting alternative – the Blade Stealth is a capable laptop that’s far more lightweight, while the Core can provide gaming oomph. These are niche products, perhaps, but they offer huge quality and are another option if traditional gaming notebooks don’t cut the mustard.

Don’t let the black box that house this laptop fool you—the Razer Blade Stealth is an attractive machine that really shines. The Chroma keyboard brings a lot of personalization to Razer’s ultraportable, and Intel’s latest processor is fast enough to help you get your work done. The Stealth’s slim design, lack of dedicated graphics and solid machined aluminum construction means that this laptop is ready to take on the best Ultrabooks on the market.

We’re still very big fans of the latest incarnation of the Stealth, with the improved battery life and performance being its stand-out features. However, it’s now facing incredibly tough competition from the Acer Spin 7, which is thinner and convertible, though about 10% slower.

The Core i5 Blade Stealth's specs may not be out of the ordinary, but it's rare to get them in such a high-quality compact build for this price. It's a very appealing value given that it stacks up to more expensive machines pretty nicely, and you don't especially notice compromises in any area. The sleek look and features like USB 3.0 ports and customizable keys are still present, with speed that can get through any normal tasks. If you're looking to cut down on cost you should highly consider this configuration of the Blade Stealth. A Core i7 processor is never going to hurt, though, so if you plan to do more intensive work, and have $100 more to spend, the Core i7 New Blade Stealth is an excellent choice. The beautifully constructed Dell XPS 13 Touch is another top configurable option.

My thoughts on the Blade Stealth have not changed since last time I reviewed this laptop: I like it a lot. The build quality is excellent and complemented well by the RGB keyboard and trackpad. The high resolution display and is good, bezel size is good. Une configuration puissante, une connectique au goût du jour et un excellent écran Full-HD, réglé en usine pour offrir un rendu très précis des couleurs. The Razer Blade Stealth 13 is a difficult system to judge. On the one hand, if you just want a gaming laptop, there are countless better options that deliver significantly better performance at a lower price. At the same time, if you value portability above all else, there are also plenty of high-performance ultrabooks that would also be less expensive. If you really need a system that can do both, your options are relatively limited; the Razer Blade Stealth 13 with its compact gaming power would certainly be one of the better choices.

Razer has launched what it calls the world's first gaming ultrabook, the Razer Blade Stealth, at the IFA 2019 trade show. This super-compact laptop is designed to take advantage of Intel's 10th gen Ice Lake CPUs with its brand new integrated Gen11 Iris Plus GPU to enable high-quality 60fps gaming even on battery power no matter where you are. This laptop has been launched in variants with and without a discrete Nvidia GPU, which means that Razer considers the integrated GPU worthy of a gaming laptop, at least for specific situations and kinds of games. We were able to check out a live demo at IFA 2019, and here are some early thoughts.

The Razer Blade Stealth 13 could be a phenomenal piece of kit for anyone who wants to game on the go - as long as it actually keeps up with Razer’s performance claims and doesn’t burn your lap in the process. Razer has finally done it: The new Blade Stealth 13 features a powerful gaming GPU in a three-pound ultraportable. Typically machines this small rely on integrated graphics or weaker NVIDIA chips like the MX 150. The new Blade Stealth is the first machine at this size that can be configured with NVIDIA's GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU, allowing it to play most modern games in 1080p. Normally, you'd have to live with a laptop closer to four pounds to get that graphics card.

That said, there are reasons why someone might want Razer’s laptop instead. One is the built-in webcam. Another is the refined aesthetic, which is a hallmark of the Blade Stealth, including the chic colorful keyboard. And another is the form factor. At the end of the day, the Blade Stealth 13 is still the most portable gaming experience you can find. The G14 is a bit bigger and noticeably heavier. If you’d prefer to sacrifice some gaming performance in exchange for a laptop that’s exceptional in these areas, the Blade Stealth 13 is for you.

I really like this little laptop. If you are looking for something ultra-portable that plays games pretty well and you have the money to spend (and you don’t use the right shift key!), perhaps this Razer Blade Sealth 13 is the right model for you. On the other hand, this is expensive and has its quirks, that's why the Blade 15 remains the better value proposition if you're willing to opt for a slightly larger and heavier computer instead.

The Razer Blade Stealth 13 is perhaps the only ultrabook today to offer what I'd consider decent gaming performance. If you travel a lot, but can't bear to be away from your games, the Blade Stealth 13 may just be what you need. However, Razer isn't quite the first to attempt to make an ultraportable gaming machine. For one, there was the old Alienware m11x, a puny 11.6-inch laptop with a GeForce GT 540M. It turned out pretty good gaming numbers as well, for its time that is, but it was also a rather thick and heavy system.

For the gamer who has work to do, accept no substitutes. The Razer Blade Stealth 13 has a lot to offer with its Nvidia GPU and Intel CPU. It allows you to work and play (within reason) without sacrificing that beautiful, lightweight chassis. However, for $1,699, there are a lot of sacrifices to be made in the name of that discrete GPU, including below-average battery life, middling overall performance and chassis that’s hot in looks and feel.

It is pricey but you’re getting a very solid and absolutely tiny bit of kit here that stands tall. If you’re purely after a gaming beast then look elsewhere, get a big chunky desktop replacement for the same price and you’ll love it… but that’s not what the Stealth 13 is trying to be, it’s trying to be the stealthiest one in the room and personally, we think it’s achieved that.
