Verdict
Avec les processeurs Comet Lake S, Intel propose pour la première fois des puces 10 cœurs pour le grand public. Mais ceux qui voudraient en profiter devront changer de carte-mère, parce que le socket LGA 1151 est remplacé par le LGA 1200. Il y a quatre nouvelles puces, le Z490 étant le modèle le plus haut de gamme.
L'Intel Core i9-10900K et l'Intel Core i5-10600K ont tous les deux été très bons dans nos tests. Le Core i9-10900K est la puce la plus haut de gamme d'Intel pour ce nouveau socket. Il est très performant dans les jeux. Grâce aux dix cœurs physiques, il est également efficace dans les logiciels multithread, ce qui lui donne l'avantage sur l'Intel Core i9-9900KS. Cependant la puce Intel n'arrive pas à faire mieux que son alter-ego AMD dans nombre de tâches exigeantes en threads.
L'Intel Core i9-10900K est le processeur de jeu le plus puissant. Mais c'est une victoire à la Pyrrhus pour Intel, parce que ses 10 cœurs consomment 250 W durant les 56 secondes du Turbo Boost.
Intel a lancé 32 nouveaux processeurs sur le marché. Nous avons pu également jeter un œil au Core i5-10600K, qui est l'offre d'Intel pour le milieu de gamme. Il possède 6 cœurs et prend en charge l'Hyperthreading, précédemment réservé aux modèles haut de gammes. Comparé à l'Intel Core i5-9600K, le Core i5-10600K est plus performant. La puce Comet Lake S du milieu de gamme s'est également bien comportée dans nos tests.
Ces processeurs ont cependant un défaut majeur : ils consomment énormément. De plus Intel utilise toujours une gravure en 14 nm, qui commence à accuser son âge. Nous verrons si les puces Rocket Lake S utiliseront le même procédé de fabrication ou non.
