AMD a mis la pression sur Intel sur le marché des PC de bureau. Afin d’éviter d’abandonner complètement le secteur, l’Intel Core i9-9900K passe à la version 9900KS. Intel annonce 5 GHz stables sur tous les cœurs en Turbo en cas de sollicitations. Nous allons voir en détails si cela est également vrai en pratique, AMD ayant dans certains cas des problèmes avec sa série Ryzen 3000 pour atteindre la fréquence indiquée.

Après qu’AMD ait élevé la barre avec les nouveau processeurs Ryzen, Intel doit maintenant suivre. Malheureusement, l’Intel Core i9-9900KS n’est qu’une petite mise à jour du 9900K. Nous attendons toujours une véritable nouvelle architecture, et le passage au 10 nm est sans cesse repoussé. Si d’un côté Intel a réussi à augmenter les performances, la consommation a empiré. Il y a toujours 8 cœurs et 16 threads, alors qu’avec 16 cœurs et 32 threads, AMD est passé devant le Core i9-9900KS au niveau des performances multithread - en pratique les jeux de bénéficient pas de ces 8 cœurs supplémentaires, mais cela pourra changer dans le futur.

Dans l’ensemble, l’Intel Core i9-9900KS fournit de très bonnes performances. Le processeur gère les jeux comme les logiciels sans souci. Pour le jeu, le processeur est le meilleur choix, si l’on ne regarde que les performances. Mais par rapport à AMD, Intel a clairement perdu du terrain cette année. Afin d’éviter d’être distancé, il faudra un plus gros gain de performances l’an prochain, le Zen 3 arrivant tôt ou tard l’année prochaine.

Une mise à jour vers l’Intel Core i9-9900KS ne vaut le coup que si vous avez déjà les composants associés.

En comparaison directe, l’i9-9900KS se situe face à l’AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, qui possède également 8 cœurs et 16 threads, mais qui coûte environ 150 € de moins que le modèle haut de gamme d’Intel. Le ratio performances / prix n’est donc sans doute pas le bon ici, l’Intel Core i9-9900KS coûtant au moins 100 € de trop…
