Asus livre un bon portable avec son N551ZU-CN007H : le 15 pouces est rigide et bien construit, est facile d'entretien, a de bons dispositifs d'entrée et parvient à maîtriser nuisances sonores et thermiques. En terme de performances, l'APU d'AMD est presque aussi puissant qu'un Core i5 Haswell, mais consomme deux fois plus d'énergie. Bien sûr, l'autonomie de la batterie en pâtit. 

Les performances en jeu sont mitigées. Sur certains jeux, la carte R9 M280X produit des performances satisfaisantes avec les détails réglés sur "haut", voire "très haut". Toutefois, certains jeux sont presque injouables, comme Thief ou Far Cry 4 par exemple. L'écran TN de notre exemplaire d'essai est également décevant, avec son taux de contraste faible et ses angles de vision étroits. Nous avons accordé quelques points pour récompenser le port mini-DisplayPort supportant FreeSync, et le iGPU relativement puissant supportant DirectX 11.

Le prix n'a pas encore été annoncé, donc nous ne pouvons pas encore émettre de recommandation sur le N551ZU-CN007H. Un prix situé entre 600 et 700 euros serait acceptable pour notre exemplaire d'essai, à condition de pouvoir vivre avec ses défauts. Une configuration équipée d'une dalle IPS serait attractive pour 800 euros.

Toutefois, la compétition n'est pas en reste. Certains des modèles Intel/Nvidia ci-dessous incluent un écran IPS avec une meilleure précision colorimétrique et des angles de visions larges :
