AMD a progressivement élargi sa gamme Navi tout en répondant aux besoins des clients ayant un budget plus serré en ce qui concerne les dernières cartes graphiques RDNA2. L'AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT est une carte graphique de jeu 1080p abordable. Cependant, AMD a considérablement réduit ses spécifications techniques. Nous allons examiner de plus près ce que l'on peut néanmoins attendre en matière de performances.

Il est difficile d'imaginer la gamme actuelle d'AMD sans son architecture RDNA2. Mais au début, le haut et le milieu de gamme ont été servis en premier. Jusqu'au début de l'année, il n'y avait rien de comparable à l'architecture actuelle dans les modèles d'entrée de gamme. Mais cela devrait enfin changer avec l'AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT. AMD ne propose cependant pas ce modèle en tant que modèle de référence. Au lieu de cela, ce modèle est uniquement distribué par les partenaires de cartes établis. Nous avons utilisé le modèle de Sapphire pour notre revue

Cependant, tous les modèles disponibles doivent se contenter de 4 Go de mémoire vidéo. Il n'existe pas de version 8 Go. C'était différent à l'époque de la Radeon RX 5500 XT d'AMD. Peut-être qu'AMD a simplement voulu rendre ce modèle moins attrayant pour les mineurs, car ils préfèrent les cartes graphiques avec un minimum de 6 Go de mémoire vidéo. La puce Navi 24 est beaucoup plus petite que la puce Navi 23 de l'AMD Radeon RX 6600. En outre, l'interface mémoire a été considérablement réduite. L'AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT n'a qu'une largeur de 64 bits, ce qui représente la moitié de la largeur du modèle précédent. L'interface PCIe x4 a également été réduite de moitié. Nous verrons plus loin si ces coupes étaient la bonne décision lorsque nous examinerons les différents benchmarks

Le Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 6500 XT est livré dans le design classique à 2 fentes, ce qui le rend comparable au Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 6600. Nous avons rassemblé plus de détails concernant le GPU et ses caractéristiques ici. Néanmoins, il y a des différences notables qui peuvent être vues dans les ports externes. Le Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 6500 XT offre seulement 1x DisplayPort (1.4a) et 1x HDMI (2.1). Cela permet certainement d'utiliser deux moniteurs, mais les utilisateurs qui en ont besoin de plus devront se tourner vers un autre modèle. La carte graphique nécessite toujours un connecteur d'alimentation à 6 broches pour fonctionner, cependant. Selon Sapphire, la carte a une puissance nominale de 130 watts.

Notre système de test avec le AMD Ryzen 9 5900X comme base

Une plateforme AMD moderne basée sur le Asus X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi sert de système de test. Le CPU (AMD Ryzen 9 5900X) offre de bonnes performances, et nous utilisons un AiO (G.Skill ENKI 360) comme solution de refroidissement. Les 32 Go de RAM proviennent de G.Skill, et ils nous ont été fournis tout comme l'AiO. Nous avons utilisé le Acer Predator XB321HK comme moniteur. À ce stade, nous tenons à exprimer notre gratitude à AMD pour nous avoir fourni la plate-forme de test.

Repères synthétiques

Comme le révèle un examen plus approfondi des spécifications, l'AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT est beaucoup plus lente que l'AMD RX 6600 XT AMD Radeon RX 6600mais d'un autre côté, le modèle Navi 24 est tout aussi rapide que son prédécesseur direct, l AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT. La Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super est à portée de main, même si elle obtient de bien meilleurs scores dans les benchmarks DX11 et OpenGL

Dans les tests de jeu bruts, l'AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT se comporte comme prévu. Elle se classe nettement en dessous de la AMD Radeon RX 6600. Tout comme dans les benchmarks synthétiques, le modèle actuel rivalise avec son prédécesseur. Cependant, lAMD Radeon RX 5500 XT a un net avantage pour les détails élevés grâce à ses 8 Go de VRAM. Si les 4 Go de l'AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT ne suffisent pas, les fréquences d'images chutent considérablement et il n'est plus possible de jouer de manière fluide. Far Cry, God of War ou Call of Duty Vanguard en sont de bons exemples. Si vous ne jouez qu'à quelques jeux sélectionnés pour le moment, l'AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT peut être intéressant.

Les taux d'images enregistrés présentent de temps en temps de petites aberrations, puisque les images rendues sont inférieures à 60 FPS en moyenne dans ces cas-là. Cependant, cela n'a pas affecté le gameplay normal. En moyenne, l'AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT a fourni près de 54 FPS aux paramètres de qualité maximum dans ce test.

Émissions - Consommation d'énergie et bruit

AMD spécifie la Radeon RX 6500 XT avec un TDP de seulement 107 watts. Le modèle de Sapphire augmente ce chiffre et fournit à la carte graphique un maximum de 130 watts, ce qui lui donne un peu plus de marge pour développer ses performances. Par rapport aux besoins en énergie d'une AMD Radeon RX 5500 XTla nouvelle architecture RDNA2 n'est pas incroyablement plus efficace. Nous avons vu de meilleures performances avec d'autres modèles, comme l'AMD Radeon RX 6600.

Les taux de consommation d'énergie enregistrés incluent l'ensemble du système de test sans le moniteur. Si l'on compare tous les appareils de l'aperçu, notre système de test avec la Radeon RX 6500 XT de Sapphire Pulse est le plus économe. Certes, vous devrez faire quelques sacrifices en termes de performances. Cependant, ceux-ci contribuent au fait que la carte graphique consomme une faible quantité d'énergie sur toute la ligne et même en charge. Nous enregistrons une moyenne de 219 watts pendant le jeu. Cependant, Sapphire a également mis en place une bonne solution de refroidissement. Visuellement, elle ressemble à la série Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 6600. Là aussi, les températures étaient toujours dans le vert, comme c'est le cas maintenant avec le Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 6500 XT. La puce du GPU chauffe jusqu'à 70 °C (~158 °F). C'est un bon résultat, qui récompense les utilisateurs avec un bruit de fond agréablement silencieux. La carte graphique n'est pas audible lorsque le boîtier est fermé, même en charge. Les ventilateurs intégrés du boîtier étaient plus bruyants à tout moment. De plus, la Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 6500 XT offre un mode fan-stop, qui permet à la carte graphique de fonctionner de manière totalement silencieuse en mode 2D et sous faible charge.

Avec l'AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT, AMD propose désormais une carte graphique encore plus abordable basée sur l'architecture RDNA2 actuelle. Dans une comparaison directe des performances avec l'AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, l'AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT n'est pas en mesure de tenir son rang, cependant.
