Bon plan prix-performance ? L'Aoostar GEM12 combine un puissant et moderne AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS avec 32 Go de RAM et un SSD de 1 To dans un boîtier relativement compact. La connectivité est supérieure à la moyenne et permet de connecter simplement des cartes graphiques externes via OCuLink. Nous avons mis l'Aoostar GEM12 à l'épreuve et analysé ses performances en détail.

Récemment, nous avons examiné de plus près le petit modèle Aoostar GEM10 et nous sommes maintenant prêts à tester l'Aoostar GEM12. Visuellement, le GEM12 appartient clairement à la famille Aoostar. Comparé à l Aoostar GEM10 le GEM12 est légèrement plus grand. Dans la configuration la plus performante, qui est la base de ce test, un processeur AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS est utilisé AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS est utilisé. L'Aoostar GEM12 est également disponible avec les éléments suivants AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS ou AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX . Pour des raisons techniques, ces derniers ne peuvent prendre en charge que la DDR5 à 4 800 MT/s, alors que les deux modèles Ryzen 7 fonctionnent avec la DDR5 à 5 600 MT/s.

L'appareil de test avec 32 Go de RAM et 1 TB SSD coûte au moins 649 dollars US - un prix justifié et qui ne semble pas excessif si vous regardez les données techniques par rapport aux concurrents. L'Aoostar GEM12 est également disponible en version barebone pour 499 dollars US. Si vous avez besoin de 64 Go de RAM directement, vous devez prévoir un budget de 749 dollars US. Nous pensons qu'il s'agit d'un prix raisonnable à l'heure actuelle.

Dans le test, l'Aoostar GEM12 doit tenir tête aux mini-PC actuels. Nous examinons notamment les performances du mini-PC par rapport à des concurrents plus onéreux. Les modèles GEM d'Aoostar sont visuellement similaires. Avec ses 13 x 13 centimètres, l'Aoostar GEM12 prend un peu plus de place sur le bureau que l'Aoostar GEM10 (10,7 x 10,7 centimètres). Le tableau montre que certains appareils prennent encore plus de place. Avec une hauteur de 6 centimètres, les appareils Aoostar sont légèrement plus épais que leurs concurrents. En ce qui concerne le choix des matériaux, nous constatons une bonne combinaison de plastique et d'aluminium. Ce dernier est principalement utilisé pour le boîtier, ce qui signifie que l'Aoostar GEM12 produit également une excellente impression haptique. Le dessous est quant à lui en plastique, comme c'est le cas pour la plupart des appareils. Un petit élément en plastique se trouve également sur le dessus, ce qui ne fait qu'ajouter une valeur visuelle à l'appareil. Malgré la qualité des matériaux, l'Aoostar GEM12 ne sort pas de l'ordinaire en termes de poids. Notre balance affiche à peine plus de 650 grammes. Le bloc d'alimentation lui-même pèse 278 grammes et est donc à peu près du même poids que la plupart des autres mini-PC dans cette catégorie de performance.

Aoostar propose également un GEM12 Pro, équipé d'un petit écran et d'un lecteur d'empreintes digitales. Malheureusement, le modèle non Pro n'en est pas équipé. Aoostar propose deux options de couleur, comme vous pouvez le voir sur les photos du fabricant. En termes de prix, il y a une différence de 20 dollars US entre le modèle noir et le modèle argenté, en faveur de la version argentée.

Comparaison des tailles

Caractéristiques - USB4 et OCuLink intégrés

Les connexions sont uniquement situées à l'avant et à l'arrière. En termes de nombre, l'Aoostar GEM12 n'est pas très bien équipé et se situe dans la moyenne : Il y a au total quatre prises USB de type A, dont deux n'offrent toutefois que la norme lente 2.0. De plus, une connexion USB-C est toujours nécessaire pour l'alimentation électrique. Au moins l'USB4 et même OCuLink sont installés. Comme pour le Aoostar GEM10, nous critiquons l'emplacement du port OCuLink qui, à notre avis, serait mieux placé à l'arrière. A l'arrière, nous trouvons également un HDMI 2.1 et un DisplayPort 1.4 pour la sortie d'images. Vous y trouverez également deux connexions réseau.

Il y a un point important à noter lors de l'utilisation de l'interface OCuLink : Le port n'est pas remplaçable à chaud, ce qui signifie que le mini-PC doit être éteint avant de connecter un eGPU. Il en va de même pour le retrait des appareils connectés via OCuLink. Les défauts dus à une mauvaise manipulation ne sont pas couverts par la garantie du fabricant.

Communication

Un module Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 est responsable de la communication sans fil dans l'Aoostar GEM12. Le module WLAN peut gérer les fréquences de 2,4 et 5 GHz et a obtenu des résultats acceptables lors du test. Notre échantillon de test se situe donc dans la bonne moyenne. Pour ce test, nous avons utilisé le routeur Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000. Pour le transfert de grandes quantités de données, nous vous recommandons d'utiliser une connexion par câble. L'Aoostar GEM12 est équipé de deux prises RJ45 - 2,5 GBit/s chacune.

Accessoires

La boîte relativement petite contient l'Aoostar GEM12, le bloc d'alimentation de 120 watts et un guide de démarrage rapide. Il y a également un câble de connexion HDMI et un support VESA avec des vis. Le fabricant inclut également deux refroidisseurs passifs pour SSD avec des coussinets thermiques et un ensemble de pieds en caoutchouc en tant qu'accessoires supplémentaires.

Maintenance

Sachant que l'Aoostar GEM12 est proposé en version barebone, entre autres, il est important que l'appareil soit facile à ouvrir. Pour accéder aux emplacements SSD ou RAM, il suffit de retirer la face inférieure. Les quatre vis qui fixent le couvercle au boîtier se trouvent sous les pieds en caoutchouc. Soyez prudent lorsque vous ouvrez le couvercle afin d'éviter d'endommager les antennes WLAN. Un petit ventilateur se trouve également sur la face inférieure. Une fois la plaque de base retirée, les deux emplacements SSD et les deux emplacements SO-DIMM sont facilement accessibles. Dans notre système de test, un emplacement M.2-2280 est encore libre pour un support de données supplémentaire.

Performance - Toujours huit cœurs et 16 threads dans l'Aoostar GEM12

L'Aoostar GEM12 est une centrale compacte qui offre huit cœurs et 16 threads dans toutes les configurations. Dans ce test, nous nous concentrons sur le processeur AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS - le modèle le plus rapide actuellement installé dans le GEM12. Vous pouvez également opter pour le modèle AMD Ryzen 7 7840HSou le AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. Équipé de 32 Go de RAM et d'un SSD de 1 To, l'Aoostar GEM12 peut également prendre en charge des tâches gourmandes en mémoire. Selon le fabricant, il est possible d'installer un maximum de 128 Go de mémoire vive DDR5.

Conditions d'essai

Nous avons utilisé le profil énergétique "Haute performance" pour tous les tests de performance avec cet appareil. En outre, aucune modification n'a été apportée au BIOS, de sorte que toutes les valeurs ont été déterminées en fonction des paramètres d'usine.

Processeur

Trois modes d'alimentation disponibles (source : Aoostar)

Le AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS est basé sur l'architecture Zen4 et combine huit cœurs de calcul natifs, ce qui garantit une vitesse de travail élevée. Cependant, l'Aoostar GEM12 n'est pas en mesure de surpasser ses concurrents de manière substantielle. Avec l'AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS, l'Acemagic AM18 offre à peu près les mêmes performances, même si un AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX est environ dix points de pourcentage plus lent dans notre classement. Ces deux processeurs sont intéressants à côté de l'AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS, car le mini-PC GEM12 est également disponible avec ces SoC.

Si l'on considère le modèle supérieur d'Intel - Core 9 Ultra 185H - installé dans le Minisforum AtomMan X7 Ti, il n'y a pas de différence de performance à première vue. Dans les tests individuels, cependant, le modèle Intel offre une performance multithread supérieure de 10 à 15 pour cent.

Le fabricant annonce une consommation maximale de 70 watts, qui est enregistrée en tant que mode performance dans le BIOS. Le mode équilibré avec un maximum de 65 watts est le réglage par défaut. Il existe également une option de mode silencieux, ce qui signifie que le processeur ne dispose que de 54 watts en cas de performances maximales. Nous avons effectué tous les tests en mode équilibré. En mode performance, le processeur AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS peut offrir une performance multithread supérieure d'environ 5 %

Latences DPC

Les valeurs DPC documentées sont légèrement plus élevées pour l'Aoostar GEM12. Un coup d'œil à l'aperçu de la comparaison montre que certains appareils ont obtenu des résultats nettement moins bons. Cependant, nous n'avons atteint la valeur maximale que peu de temps après avoir commencé la lecture de la vidéo de test 4K. Il y a également quelques images perdues, mais elles n'empêchent pas d'apprécier le film. Pendant la lecture, la charge de l'iGPU atteint 64 %, ce qui est relativement élevé.

Mémoire de masse

L'Aoostar GEM12 est équipé d'un disque dur SSD de 1 To de Crucial. En comparaison, nous voyons un excellent résultat, avec lequel notre appareil de test peut obtenir la première place. Aoostar a installé un système de refroidissement actif dans le GEM12, mais il ne s'agit que d'un seul ventilateur. Cependant, cette combinaison n'est pas suffisante pour maintenir les performances stables sous charge. Cependant, la perte de performance est très légère et à peine perceptible. Deux disques durs NVMe d'une longueur de 80 millimètres peuvent être installés dans l'appareil.

Aoostar GEM12 avec l'eGPU GPD G1 dans la vérification des performances

Aoostar installe une interface OCuLink dans le GEM12, qui est principalement disponible pour l'utilisation de cartes graphiques externes. L'USB4 est également disponible, mais la bande passante de la connexion OCuLink est meilleure et permet d'augmenter les performances 3D d'environ 10 %. Nous avons testé les performances avec la carte graphique GPD G1 (AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT) et nous avons effectué quelques tests de référence synthétiques et de jeu.

Les performances en combinaison avec l'eGPU GPD G1 sont meilleures que celles de tous les autres appareils que nous avons testés dans cette combinaison jusqu'à présent. La différence de performance par rapport à l'Aoostar GEM10 ou au Minisforum AtomMan x7 Ti est négligeable. De nombreux jeux peuvent maintenant être appréciés en haute qualité.

Émissions sonores

Bien qu'Aoostar ait installé deux ventilateurs dans le GEM12, l'appareil est nettement plus silencieux que tous les autres appareils de cette revue. En mode veille, nous avons mesuré un niveau de pression sonore de seulement 27,6 dB(A). En charge moyenne, l'Aoostar GEM12 atteint 36 dB(A) et reste discret. Lors du test de stress, nous avons atteint le volume maximum avec un peu plus de 38 dB(A). Le bruit agréable du ventilateur, qui n'a pas tendance à être gênant en raison de sa basse fréquence, doit être souligné positivement.

Température

Le boîtier métallique répartit assez bien la chaleur qui en résulte. Nous avons documenté une zone sur le dessus comme étant le point le plus chaud, où nous mesurons environ 46 °C en surface. Les composants sont ventilés par le haut et par le bas. Deux ventilateurs aspirent l'air frais. Toutefois, le ventilateur du bas n'alimente en air frais que la mémoire de masse et la RAM, tandis que le ventilateur installé sur le dessus refroidit le processeur. Ce concept de refroidissement fonctionne et, avec une température maximale de 84,4 °C, il n'y a rien à redire sur la température. Les limites de performances prédéfinies sont atteintes, la pleine puissance du processeur est atteinte AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS peuvent être maintenues en permanence, même pendant le test de stress.

Gestion de l'énergie

Malheureusement, l'Aoostar GEM12 ne remporte pas la palme de l'efficacité. Si les besoins en énergie en mode veille restent raisonnables (8 à 14,6 watts), ils augmentent considérablement en charge. Avec 73,9 watts, notre échantillon de test nécessite beaucoup plus d'énergie que l'Aoostar GEM12 Minisforum AtomMan X7 Tiqui est à égalité en termes de performances. A court terme, le bloc d'alimentation de 120 watts doit pouvoir fournir jusqu'à 95 watts, ce qui ne pose aucun problème dans la pratique.

Le GEM12 d'Aoostar en revue : fourni par Aoostar

L'Aoostar GEM12 est idéal en combinaison avec le AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS et constitue un mini-PC puissant et performant. Avec 32 Go de RAM et 1 To d'espace de stockage, cet ordinateur compact est parfaitement adapté à de nombreuses tâches. En termes de performances relatives, l'Aoostar GEM12 ne peut toutefois pas se démarquer de ses concurrents, qui offrent des performances tout aussi bonnes. Sur le plan visuel, Aoostar a renoncé à tout artifice sur notre appareil de test. Si vous tenez à ces petits détails, vous pouvez jeter un coup d'œil au modèle Pro de la série, qui est équipé d'un petit écran sur le dessus. Nous n'en voyons toutefois pas l'utilité.

L'Aoostar GEM12 offre des performances impressionnantes grâce à l'AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS. Une interface moderne et un boîtier de haute qualité avec un refroidissement puissant sont un bon argument de vente, qui va de pair avec un prix raisonnable.

Le boîtier de l'Aoostar GEM12 est parfaitement fini et le choix des matériaux est tout aussi excellent. Le mélange d'aluminium et de plastique est bon et rehausse l'aspect et la sensation de l'appareil. En ce qui concerne le prix d'achat, l'Aoostar GEM12 est nettement mieux placé que d'autres mini-PC dans cette catégorie de performance. Il en va de même pour la connectivité de l'Aoostar GEM12. Avec USB4 et OCuLink, le fabricant a installé deux interfaces modernes qui peuvent certainement influencer la décision d'achat. Aoostar ne peut cependant pas en faire un argument de vente unique, car Minisforum a déjà intégré la connexion OCuLink dans certains de ses modèles. Cependant, la combinaison avec la carte graphique externe a permis d'obtenir les meilleures performances avec l'Aoostar GEM12.

Un autre aspect positif de l'Aoostar GEM12 est le système de refroidissement intégré : à pleine charge, le mini-PC est nettement plus silencieux que les concurrents que nous avons testés ici. Les performances de l'AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS restent stables tout au long de l'utilisation. Aoostar commet une petite erreur avec le refroidissement du SSD. Malgré un refroidissement actif, il y a une perte minimale de performance sous charge. Le Aoostar GEM10 était capable de fournir une performance SSD plus stable avec une unité de refroidissement plus massive. Un autre petit point faible est la performance de la connexion sans fil. Nous ne comprenons pas pourquoi le fabricant n'a pas installé le Wi-Fi 6E, étant donné que l'Aoostar est équipé de connexions modernes telles que l'USB4 et l'OCuLink. Heureusement, le module sans fil n'est pas installé de manière permanente et peut être remplacé. De plus, l'utilisateur dispose toujours de deux interfaces de 2,5 GBit, ce qui n'est pas forcément la norme pour les mini-PC.

L'Aoostar GEM12 est disponible directement sur le site du fabricant en trois variantes, la version barebone commençant à 499 $. Les utilisateurs peuvent également acheter le mini-PC sur Amazon.
