The Realme 8 Pro is the top entry in the company’s mid-range 8-series lineup. It features a 6.4-inch FHD+ screen, Qualcomm’s mid-range 720 chipset, and either 6 or 8 GB of memory with 128 GB of storage. There are four cameras on the back. The main wide module uses a high-resolution sensor in a bid to improve zoom performance; there’s also an ultra-wide camera as well as a dedicated 2 MP macro module for extreme closeups.

The Realme 8 Pro has some disadvantages and if you read our review of its vanilla version, gaming is more optimized than the pro version. But for the price of P16,990 (8GB/128GB), it can still play esports titles and the Snapdragon 720G still packs a punch on its gaming performance without the 5G. Meanwhile, on the camera side, thanks to the HM2 sensor, it helps process the image in intense lighting and low light. The camera features are useful and entertaining and all I can see is the huge improvement in its camera. A higher refresh rate plus an AMOLED panel is the best on the display right now. But Realme 8 Pro isn’t capable of that and charging time is a bit of a downer. So if you want to sacrifice it for the two main specs–Camera and Performance–Realme 8 Pro is a perfect choice.

This phone's closes counterparts would be the vivo V21e, which has the same price tag and chipset. Since Malaysians are usually price-sensitive, the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Samsung Galaxy A32 5G are also great options at RM1099 and RM1199, respectively. In particular, the latter's 120Hz refresh rate and 5000mAh battery pack make it excellent value-for-money. Ultimately, the choice is yours.

Our realme 8 Pro review in the Philippines shows that the phone is a textbook example of the old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. It’s an iterative update more than anything else, aimed at enticing snap-happy users that value camera performance above everything else. It does run into strong competition from rival brands though who have stepped up their game in terms of offering value-for-money products. As of press time, the realme 8 Pro still has a good chance of standing out because of its strong camera performance, but realme might want to go with a new set of guts for the next iteration of their next mid-range offering.

This mid-range smartphone from realme still offers the same chipset as its predecessor, the snapdragon 720g. and it is paired with an 8GB ram and 128GB of external storage. And the question is, will the snapdragon 720g still enough to handle games in 2021? Watch our full gaming review of the realme 8 Pro.

To wrap things up, if you’re looking for a decent mid-range phone with a camera sporting a high megapixel count, then you’re already in the right direction. The Snapdragon 720G chipset and the lack of 5G could hold you back since we don’t consider this one to be much of an upgrade if you’re coming from the Realme 7 series. But if those things aren’t too important to you, it’s still quite a respectable daily driver. But the real question is, for how long?

The Realme 8 Pro comes with Android 11 and runs RealmeUI 2.0 and the smartphone worked capably throughout my time with it. The Realme 8 Pro is least expensive 108mp camera we've seen yet! But is it durable? Today we find out how much stress the new Realme 8 Pro can handle. I've been asked to durability test cheaper phones. Budget smartphones need to be durable as well. With the Realme 8 Pro, with its super loud design. We'll find out what its made from and if it can handle every day life.

As another entry into the rapidly expanding realme catalogue of phones, the realme 8 Pro does as you’d expect. While the 108MP main camera can be considered a worthy upgrade, most of everything else is the usual incremental climb over the previous generation. That being said, it’s not a bad phone. You may find the startup process infuriating (like I was) if you’re not careful, and your mileage may vary about the very in-your-face advertising at the back. But beyond that, the phone stands well on its own in everyday use, has a long-lasting battery life, and a very fast charging rate. If you’ve just recently bought a midrange device, you probably won’t be making the leap, no matter if you dare to or not. But if you’re looking to replace an ageing device, then you can consider the realme 8 Pro. It’s worth mentioning that it has a price of RM1299, so it has that going for it.

The Realme 8 series is not a significant upgrade over the Realme 7 series. We did not find the Realme 8 to be significantly different than its predecessor, and the Realme 8 Pro isn't a huge leap either. Strangely, the list of feature subtractions is a lot longer than the list of additions on the Realme 8 Pro. Yes, the phone is priced lower than the Realme 7 Pro, but I still don't think it provides the same kind of value for money.

Its time to teardown the Realme 8 Pro to see what that camera looks like from the inside. Samsung makes both of the 108mp cameras in this video. The Realme 8 Pro's 108mp camera along with the Samsung Note 20 Ultra, which also has a 108mp camera. Today we are going to put them side by side to compare the sizes. Sometimes a larger sensor means better, just because more light can get in.

A good value phone with a strong primary camera and fast charging, but not the strongest all-round Android at its price. The highlight is the 108MP camera and it is certainly among the best camera phones if you’re looking in the budget market. The Realme 8 Pro misses out on two of the key pieces of tech that have just come to more affordable phones, including 5G and a high screen refresh rate. This is a 60Hz, 4G phone. You can get 5G or 90/120Hz models at a not-too-dissimilar price. If either of those are important to you, then you’re best of looking elsewhere.

What it does offer is plenty of bang for your buck. It’s well put together, despite its plastic rear, with a punchy screen, enough power to breeze through the latest games, and a camera that produces good shots, given the right settings. While the 108MP camera is a bit niche, it’s used in a clever way, and could pave the way for future innovation.

The Realme 8 Pro is a good, inexpensive Android phone that you probably shouldn’t buy right now — at least if you’re in the US. But it’s also a preview of positive things to come to the midrange class, especially in terms of camera hardware. I have seen the future of smartphone imaging around the $400 price point, and it is good.

There’s no doubt that the Realme 8 Pro is a reliable choice with good cameras, impressive battery life and charging, decent performance and display quality. Also, the phone’s build quality is good and will be able to handle the daily grind without giving too many hassles. If you are looking for a reliable no-fuss smartphone at a price of around Rs 15,000 then the Realme 8 Pro can be considered. As far as the competition in this price range there are other capable devices like the Poco X3 Pro or Redmi Note 10 Pro Max which you may consider. For Realme 7 Pro users, there’s really nothing much to look forward to and consider it as an upgrade.

Realme 8 Pro does give Realme the bragging right for the “most affordable 108MP camera phone.” But despite that, it does not give you the impression of being a phone that is worth its pricing. It makes sense for you to buy the Realme 8 Pro only if you want a good camera setup — and have reasonable patience to cure the oversaturated colors — and are spoiled by fast charging and cannot opt for something slower.

In recent years, the mid-range smartphone segment has turned quite exciting. Apart from getting all the basics right, phones in this category often bring a premium feature to the table. In the 8 Pro's case, Realme offers a whopping 108 MP camera and 50 W charging – usually reserved for high-end smartphones. But how does it fare as an all-around smartphone? Let's find out!

Obviously, there is only one thing wrong with the Realme 8 Pro, and that is the launch price. The competition has cheaper and/or better offers, and there is no place for the Realme 8 Pro among the €300 bunch. Maybe if Realme drops its price down to about €200-€220 - it would be a good alternative for those on the budget, but right now - it's a no-go.

This is a good phone but is it enhanced by having the 108MP Camera sensor on it? Could Realme have just used the 48MP that is more abundant and gotten away with it? Two interesting related questions there and I believe by answering both I will also answer my question from the head of this review. The camera is really quite a bit of kit and it does add some genuinely interesting features into the mix for this phone by having such a massive sensor but I don’t think that its full potential has been realised and I do think that this phone would be just as good with a 48MP camera instead.

The realme 8 Pro has surprised us with its 108 MP impressive camera, the daylight shots are brilliant and appear to be sharper and vibrant in colors. It turns out that the realme 8 Pro could be one of the rare smartphones to feature a 108 MP camera under a ₹20,000 budget.

Realme 8 Pro is an out-and-out one-trick pony. Apart from the 108-megapixel cameras, this is hardly anything that makes it special in the sea of phones that you get at this price. And while the 108-megapixel camera -- which is overall good -- is the speciality, the rest of the features fit perfectly in the grand scheme of things that Realme is trying to pitch here. Think of it as a phone that is meant to rival the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. And while the Realme 8 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max are side-by-side comparison phones, everything comes down to the price.

The Realme 8 Pro is a feature-packed phone for under Rs 20,000 price segment and for the mentioned price, you get a vibrant AMOLED panel, good cameras, and 65W fast charging. That being said, Realme 8 Pro faces stiff competition from the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. If you can shell out Rs 2,000 more, Xiaomi’s mid-range phone offers features like a 120Hz panel, stereo speakers and other features.

After using the Realme 8 Pro for a while, it does feel as though the company has focused mainly on camera improvements. The pricing is more aggressive than that of the outgoing Realme 7 Pro, which makes this device a lot more interesting. It will be going right up against the brand new Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, which also has a 108-megapixel rear camera. So should you upgrade to the Realme 8 Pro? Stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for the full review to find out.

In isolation, there is plenty to like about the Realme 8 Pro including its stellar 108MP camera, beefy battery, decent performance and lightweight construction in a package costing less than £300. But these gains are harmed by Realme standing still on any real internal upgrades, and the company has shot itself in the foot with that divisive “Dare to leap” branding on the back.

The Realme 8 Pro is a typical Realme device. It's aggressively priced but does not compromise on specifications or for the matter headline-grabbing features. In the phone's case, this feature is its 108-megapixel-lens-based camera set-up. But apart from the cameras, there's not too much to get excited about. Despite being a typical mid-ranger, which has its upsides and drawbacks. The phone provides decent value for money and overall is a good deal.

Realme 8 Pro Review, an in-depth full review after 1 week. The phone got a one-spec upgrade over the 7 Pro, the main camera is now the 108MP HM2. But it has two downgrades the selfie camera and charging spec. Should this really be called 8 Pro or the Realme 7S Pro?

If you can get over the massive slogan on the rear - which, we know, is a big ask - then the Realme 8 Pro delivers a decent specification considering the asking price. A solid main camera unit, decent battery life, and ample power lead the charge. But there's a lot of competition out there, too, where subtlety presides as the greater success.

The Realme 8 Pro isn't a bad phone per se, but the competition is so far ahead in the finer details that it's a lot harder to make a case for it. Whether it's the lack of a high refresh rate panel, the barely-working fingerprint reader, or the stuttering software, the shortcomings tower over the real quality features like fast charging, and the high-quality main camera.

The realme 8 4G costs just as much as its 5G brother. Does that make sense? Are there better features elsewhere? In the review, we take a look at for whom the inexpensive smartphone is worthwhile.

The realme 8 is a product of its time. This is a kind of usual version of a modern inexpensive smartphone for the average user. It has a bright AMOLED screen, a powerful battery with fast charging, a decent 64 megapixel camera, a nimble fresh shell and a fingerprint scanner built into the display.

The Realme 8 is a solid, if unremarkable, budget buy. For the price you’re getting a dependable main camera, strong battery life, and OLED screen, all backed up by a smooth software experience that prioritises ease-of-use. Similarly priced rivals might beat the Realme 8 on one or two specs, and particularly you may feel that it’s worth investing in a 5G model at this point. But you’ll find a welcome balance of features here that should suit most users more or less, making the Realme 8 a jack-of-all-trades.

Realme 8 4G is a well-put smartphone on paper. When it comes to real-life performance, the phone does have both pros and cons. Note that G95 is a solid SoC at this price tag and there’s no point denying it. The battery life, charging speeds, and Super AMOLED display are some of the USPs to bank although the company mentioned a brightness of 1000 nits which seems dubious. Note that Realme 8 4G is a well-put phone and thus, its cons are preferably minuscule in many cases while the pros and exceptional including 4K videos, 3.5mm headphone jack while trading off with no stabilization, no stereo speakers, and the same one two-old design with a plastic build.

The Realme 8 offers a competent smartphone package for anyone looking to spend less than £200. In skipping 5G, you get a vibrant FHD+ AMOLED display, a reasonably capable 64-megapixel camera, plus superior gaming performance over the Realme 8 5G. However, there are a few quirks and glitches here that may need addressing, while those hoping for genuine progress over the (at the time) impressive Realme 7 will be disappointed.

Realme 8 is not the best vanilla version in the realme number series for me. I still like the Helio G90T on the Realme 6 because it offers higher refresh rate compatibility and higher settings available when playing games. However, power-wise, the Realme 8 does give beneficial growth among all of its predecessors. Unlike the Realme 7, the super AMOLED of the Realme 8 does offer a great impact in gaming. And if you add the battery capacity and charging speed, it will really give you what you pay for even the chipset only has 12nm architecture. To make it short, Realme 8–for the price of P13,990(8GB/128GB)–gives you more time and a worry-free user/gaming experience. What more it can give if you add a higher refresh rate on an AMOLED display.

Realme isn't exactly a household name in the West still, despite being around since 2018. Its name is better known in India where it holds a number of records and is also the country's fourth largest smartphone brand. In the UK and US though? It's a less known quantity. Perhaps then that's why the Realme 8 manages to be very well priced while still offering some great features. On paper, it has everything you could need from a budget phone. There's a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen that's bright and vibrant each step of the way, along with a MediaTek Helio G95 chipset that's designed with gaming in mind. A decent set of cameras further solidifies its ability to be a bit of a jack of all trades.

Also despite the lofty advertised 1000 nits of max brightness, the legibility in bright sun is a challenge. Color rendition isn't particularly accurate either. The quad-camera setup also doesn't quite live up to its hardware potential. That latter point can potentially be addressed with software updates, but as things currently stand, the Realme 8 arguably gets outpaced in the photography department by the Realme 8 5G despite its basic camera hardware.

That sums up the tour of the two devices exteriors. there are some distinct difference on the inside which I briefly wish to cover off as this is really what will separate the two phones. Both the phones use a Mediatek processor with the Realme 8 opting for the Helio G95 and the Realme 8 5G opting for the Dimensity 700 5G Processor. This is a key difference in the phones as it means that the Realme 8 and 8 Pro are only 4G devices and as the name suggests the Realme 8 5G is the only 5g device in the group.

The realme 8, despite lacking the pro title, is still quite a great mid-range phone. If you’re coming from the realme 7, this does make quite a big difference, especially because of the updated Super AMOLED Panel. And if gaming is also a priority for you, this might even be a better choice than the Pro.

Despite being almost similar to its predecessor, our review of the realme 8 in the Philippines shows that the AMOLED upgrade is an important one: aside from delivering better overall visuals when watching videos or playing games, the display upgrade also gave the realme 8 a big, big boost when it comes to battery life, lasting longer than the realme 7 by a mile despite using the same 12nm processor.

Another one of the new addition of realme on their number series. This is the realme 8, unlike the pro version, this one has a smaller 64mp main sensor, but with a bigger battery. What else separates the vanilla version from the Pro version?

Despite being almost similar to its predecessor as far as specs are concerned, our unboxing of the realme 8 in the Philippines shows the shift from IPS to AMOLED does make a good impact. The display upgrade not just introduces an in-display fingerprint scanner and a better overall video experience, but can address the rather inferior battery life of the realme 7.

After spending a week with the Realme 8, it's safe to conclude that it's nothing more than a Realme 7 (Review) with an AMOLED display and slightly worse camera performance. I think the Realme 7 is still a better pick as it's less expensive, offers a 90Hz display, and hopefully should receive an Android 11 update soon. The only real advantage of the Realme 8 is that it's slimmer and lighter than the 7. Realme is also preparing to launch a 5G version of the 8 very soon, which could be priced between the Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro, so it's worth at least waiting.

The Realme 8 is a good phone but while it is a competitive one, it does not really bring anything startlingly new to the table – in fact, at times it even does not seem a big step forward from the Realme 7. It is a very good option for those who want to stay in the Realme ecosystem and want a Super AMOLED display, but it has some very formidable competition to contend with.

Realme 8 is a capable smartphone and it does almost everything a mid-range smartphone should do. At a starting price of Rs 14,999, the Realme 8 is a good option for those looking for a practical smartphone that offers good battery life, display, a decent set of cameras and also excels in design. So, if you are looking for a smartphone in a budget that does not disappoint then Realme 8 could very well be your next choice.

Realme 8 isn’t a major update over the Realme 7, but you are getting a vibrant AMOLED panel and good performance at an accessible price. Those who want a great battery life will also be happy with this device. You also get 128GB as the base storage variant. The cameras on the Realme 8 will give you good shots in daylight. It is priced at Rs 14,999. Realme 8 is a good smartphone as it is offering most of the key features that a user might be looking for in the Rs 15,000 price range. However, if you care about having stereo speakers, a high-refresh-rate display and a good camera setup, then you will have to look elsewhere. The Redmi Note 10 Pro smartphone might have an edge in the camera department or you can straight up consider the Realme 8 Pro, which has a better camera to offer.

The realme 8 isn’t a game changer but has enough traits to draw attention. From its Super AMOLED display, Android 11 out-of-the-box, 30W fast charging, plenty of storage, to its 64 MP quad cameras, it can be a good pick under ₹15,000 as far as if you aren’t asking for a 90 Hz screen. The realme 8 is currently priced at ₹14,999 for its 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage and goes up to 16,999 for 8 GB RAM variant.

Realme has played it safe with the Realme 8. The phone is not a major upgrade from the Realme 7 apart from the display moving from LCD to AMOLED. With respect to the chipset, cameras, and battery, the two phones are identical. This means that Realme 7 users have no reason to upgrade to this phone. The predecessor also comes with an arguably better design. The Realme 8 is not as exciting as the Realme X7 and Realme Narzo 30 Pro that launched earlier this year. However, the Realme 8 is still a solid smartphone if you look at it in comparison to other devices in this segment. The closest competitor is the Redmi Note 10, which starts from Rs 15,999. By paying Rs 1,000 more, you get a 120Hz AMOLED display, a better set of cameras, and stereo speakers. The Realme 8 offers a great display, good cameras, and a decent performance, but it could have been a better successor to the Realme 7.

It is rare to get a 5G smartphone this cheap: The realme 8 5G costs just 199 Euros. It even comes with a 90 Hz display and a pretty fast SoC. Is the smartphone the new price-performance king?

If you're on a tight budget the Realme 8 5G is worth considering. It won't cost you much at all but will still give you decent specs across the board. Realme has had to make a few sacrifices to keep the price this low like leaving out wireless charging and not making it waterproof but you won't feel as though you're massively missing out. Granted this isn't a knock-out handset with a high-end camera or super speedy processor but what you do get is a reliable phone that works well. It'll handle most day-to-day tasks and you can snap clear shots with the camera system as long as the lighting is right. What's more, is that you won't need to worry too much about preserving your battery while you go about your business. It's not the best phone you can get but it is great value for money.

While 5G at the Realme 8 5G's price point is an impressive achievement in itself, the company trimmed a little too much off this generation's budget 5G blower to render it a worthwhile buy versus the competition.

Overall, Realme 8 5G is a worthy device and one of this era’s affordable 5G handsets. Even though it has downgraded specs from the Realme 7 5G, Realme managed to fit the price ratio inside the competition’s bracket. Most competitors offer the same chipset, and it feels like a counter-offer. If you’re not into 5G, some devices within the price range offer more than you expected. On top of that, if you still want to experience having the latest realme phone, the Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro are both equipped with a Super AMOLED panels and have more cameras and megapixels. But they are more pricey than the Realme 8 5G.

Locally the realme 8 5G has an SRP of PHP 11,990, making it a worthy contender in the affordable 5G smartphone market. It is slightly better than the 5G-ready POCO M3 Pro and Redmi Note 10, but if 5G connectivity isn’t much of a priority for you, there are better options available in its price range. Nonetheless, if 5G connectivity is something you really want to experience, which by the way will still depend on if it’s available in your area, then the realme 8 5G is a recommendable smartphone for you.

Then we have Realme, which already has a long line of solid, inexpensive phones behind it. New for 2021 is the Realme 8 5G, which offers more of the same: a respectable level of performance and an appealing design for not much money at all. In fact, you won't be able to find a cheaper 5G phone than this right now in some markets.

The Realme 8 5G's early bird price is €179, but it will climb up to €199 once the promotion ends. If you get one at the special price, it will make a perfect sense - you probably won't be able to find a better offer. And we do recommend getting it while this deal lasts.

It’s hard to find 5G compatibility on budget phones, so the Realme 8 5G just existing is already a benefit. It’s also got a surprisingly nice display for such a cheap phone with its AMOLED panel and 90Hz refresh rate, so you can put that 5G to good use enjoying a video or online gaming while away from Wi-Fi.

To ensure that the phone is future-ready — 5G support — Realme has made quite a few compromises compared to the non-5G variant of the smartphone. The Realme 8 has a better display and better charging capabilities. Realme 8 5G misses out on both features. The phone’s design is quite nice but it is a fingerprint magnet. The camera performance leaves a lot to be desired on most counts. Having said that, if you are looking for a phone that handles routine tasks capably and easily then this could be the phone for you. Realme has done a fine job on making a phone that will please most users who buy devices for good performance and little else. Starting at Rs 14,999, Realme has got 5G on a budget but don’t forget that there’s still no clarity on when 5G will be ready in India. Realme 8 5G is a phone that is ‘future-ready’ but misses out on some of the features that matter in the present.

For the sake of 5G connectivity, the phone sacrifices a bunch of features available in Realme’s own competing devices — the Realme 8 and the Narzo 30 Pro 5G. The camera setup is inadequate, charging is slow, and the display, though isn't bad, is not an OLED panel. While these may not seem like absolute dealbreakers, there are competing offerings like the Realme 8, the Redmi Note 10 Pro, and the Moto G40 Fusion that offer a lot more bang for your buck and even have extras like stereo speakers, higher-refresh-rate displays, IP certification, glass backs (granted, that's subjective), and faster charging. In order to qualify to be the cheapest 5G phone in the Indian market, the Realme 8 5G makes too many compromises. Being the cheapest 5G phone is of little value when 5G spectrum hasn't even been auctioned in the country, and mass adoption is at least a couple of years away. Rest assured that by the time 5G rolls out for real, you'll have a buffet of budget phones to choose from that will be better on all fronts.

The Realme 8 5G is a feather in the company's cap when it comes to performance in phones under 20K. The smartphone performs admirably well in most scenarios and beats out its competitors in most benchmarks. The phone's real-world performance didn't disappoint either when it comes to gaming or day-to-day tasks. What did disappoint us though is the camera's performance that proved to be mediocre, at best.

The Realme 8 5G is a capable phone in the performance aspect but its average camera quality and less than impressive charging speeds do raise some question marks. Yes, you are getting 5G on a budget but does it really make sense to sacrifice some key aspects of a smartphone experience just to have the next-gen communication standard, especially since the networks aren’t available yet? I think not. Getting a 5G-capable flagship or even a mid-range phone is acceptable since they are devices that will end up being used for a longer time. 5G on budget phones right now does not make them a worthwhile investment. Display and software on the Realme 8 5G are decent but the downgrade to IPS LCD is again a compromise that could have been avoided. I think that the Redmi Note 10 Pro is an extraordinary device that does miss out on 5G, but is a better phone in just about all other aspects, available at a similar price.

From a certain angle the Realme 8i feels like a somewhat unnecessary addition to the four-strong Realme 8 range, which perhaps explains its limited availability. It’s a competent phone all the same, with the largest and most fluid display in the family, though it’s not quite up there with the best cheap phones around. Meanwhile, its large battery comfortably lives up to the Realme 8 and Realme 8 5G in terms of two-day potential. It’s a shame the charging speeds fall so far short of the best in the series, however. Otherwise, it’s an exercise in priorities. Performance is adequate, but you’ll have to make do without 5G. Similarly, you’ll get a reasonable 50MP main camera, but no ultra-wide. If display clarity is everything to you, then the Realme 8i is worthy of serious consideration. Otherwise, it’s another budget phone also-ran.

Okay, so finally let’s talk about the price. The realme 8i comes in two configurations: this 4GB + 64GB variant is priced at PHP 9,990, while the 6GB + 128GB variant is available for PHP 11,990. On its own, we can say that it’s a pretty impressive device as it can be relied upon for day-to-day casual use and even some slight gaming—plus the 120Hz refresh rate sure is icing on the cake. But as some of you may also be thinking, there are still better options within its price range like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 that offers an AMOLED display, 33W fast charging, and dual speakers. Nonetheless, the MediaTek Helio G96 on the realme 8i performs slightly better, so we still recommend this device especially if you’ve been a long-time realme user.

A few months back realme released the realme 8 series. Now they added a new device in that series, which is the realme 8i. We found that the realme 8i is a great buy in our review for anyone looking for a value-packed smartphone in the Philippines. While it doesn’t have a wide-angle camera, its 50-megapixel snapper punches way above its weight class, producing photos that you’d typically expect from more expensive devices. The phone’s distinct look makes it stand out in a sea of similarly-priced phones, and its processing package offers fantastic value for anyone looking to make the most out of their money.

The Realme 8i smartphone consists of impressive features and comparatively better options than the Realme 8s. Except, if you’re looking for 5G connectivity, you’ll be disappointed. At the same time, the main selling point of the Realme 8i phone is its robust battery, advanced screen, and support for a personalized Realme user interface. Overall, the Realme 8i is a decent smartphone in the low-budget segment. But, there are some flaws that can be ignored if you look at its plus points and compare them to the price. There are only a few smartphones that can provide so many features in this price range. Still, if you’re looking for a better alternative, you can definitely take a look at the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10T smartphone.

The Realme 8i is something of a mixed bag. On the plus side is the affordable price, the 120Hz screen refresh rate, impressive battery life, dual SIM support plus MicroSD storage expansion, a competent main camera and a distinctive purple chassis colour (with black available if it's not to your taste). On the minus side is relatively slow 18W battery charging, a disappointing speaker and no 5G support. If your budget is tight and you don't need 5G, the Realme 8i is definitely worth considering.

Do not forget that the Realme 8i smartphone model is not a flagship, but belongs to the mid-budget class of devices. Therefore, this model will have both positive and negative sides. If we talk about the merits, the smartphone was equipped with an interesting IPS screen with Full HD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. I also liked how the user interface worked with its smooth and stable responsiveness. In addition, I liked the main camera module, which took good pictures in both good and low light. Well, of course, battery life had good performance during real use. As for the shortcomings, the device received not the most top-end processor, which showed itself not in a particularly positive way. For example, in heavy games, the smartphone immediately heated up and there were slight delays. But if you play simpler games, then I did not reveal any special problems. I was also frustrated by the lack of a wide-angle camera module.

If you want a budget smartphone with a high refresh rate display and powerful performance, the Realme 8i is a decent option at 12,999, but keep in mind that the camera isn't its most appealing feature. It's an excellent smartphone for everyday use because the battery lasts for a long time. Its use of the Helio G96 chipset allows it to operate well in everyday life. For the time being, I believe the Realme 8i is a good phone with a good blend of features. Sure, it's not the best phone in its price range, but for most people, it'll suffice.

The Realme 8i has been launched in the super-competitive sub-Rs. 15,000 segment in India, and has to fend off a lot of competition. What's more, that isn't limited to other manufacturers, since Realme itself sells multiple smartphones in this price segment. The strength of the Realme 8i is performance. Its MediaTek Helio G96 SoC and 120Hz display help deliver a smooth user experience. Battery life is good too, but the bundled 18W charger feels inadequate, especially when we've seen phones such as the Realme Narzo 20 Pro (Review) bundled with up to 65W chargers. The Realme 8i is not a perfect all-rounder, and its cameras fell short of my expectations. If photo and video quality aren't all that important to you, you could consider buying this phone, but if you would prefer something that does it all at this price level you could also consider the Realme 7 (Review) which is an older model but one step up in Realme's hierarchy.

Realme 8i at Rs 15,999 (6GB+128GB) offers decent gaming performance, good display and battery life. All these features make Realme 8i a preferred choice for someone looking for a budget-friendly gaming smartphone. The device’s camera offers satisfactory results overall. To wrap up this review, I’d say that the Realme 8i is a pretty decent budget phone. It performs admirably in all areas, and the fact that it brings a whole lot of improvements over its predecessor is a commendable effort by the company. Yet, the Redmi 10 Prime gives the 8i a serious run for its money, with nearly identical specs and a lower price tag. And if you’re intending on getting the 8i’s higher variation, I recommend adding a little more cash and going with the standard Realme 8 instead. With this, you’ll be getting better performance, cameras, and display for a comparable price. Finally, I would advise Realme to do something extra to make their next iterations of the ‘i’ series a compelling deal.

The Realme 8i is good at what it was made to do - offering an incredibly smooth Android+RealmeUI experience and snappy performance, it can last you impressively long with the 5,000mAh battery, and its camera is dependable day and night. We had nothing but positive impressions from the display, too, and it is one of the most adaptive on the market right now. The Realme 8i is not ideal, but no budget phone can be perfect. It doesn't offer an ultrawide shooter or 30W+ fast charging, and there is no stereo sound unless you plug some headphones into its 3.5mm jack. But hey, for as little as INR 13,999 or $190, the Realme 8i offers great design, screen and camera, and won't disappoint you with performance, connectivity and even speaker quality. If it ticks the right boxes on your checklist, the Realme 8i is a phone worth buying and having for your daily driver, and we do recommend it.

So should you buy the Realme 8i? The phone is available for Rs 13,999 for the 4+64GB variant and Rs. 15,999 for the 6+128GB variant. At this price, it faces some serious competition from one of the most popular devices in this segment – the Redmi Note 10, which comes with a Snapdragon 678 chipset and a Super AMOLED display. In fact, the 6+128GB variant of the 8i is priced very close to the company’s own Realme 8, which has 5G support and an 90Hz LCD display. That said, if you are looking for a device that offers great battery life, decent performance, capable cameras, and more, you can consider buying the Realme 8i. Yes, it also has its fair share of shortcomings like slower charging and a single speaker, but the Realme 8i is a pretty good smartphone for the price if you can overlook those issues.

So, where does that leave us? Well, the Realme 8i retails for Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,999 for the 4GB and 6GB RAM variants respectively. For the price, the smartphone brings good performance, a big 120Hz display, and solid battery backup to the mix. Of course, the handset’s chipset has to be tweaked to support graphically-intensive games better. That said, having tested Helio G95 and Snapdragon 662-based devices like the Redmi Note 10S and the Realme 7i, I can confidently say that the Helio G96 chip is, in fact, a better performing SoC – it just needs to be optimised better. Lest I forget, the handset’s virtual memory should come in clutch for buyers opting for the 4GB RAM variant as well.

The Realme 8S 5G has undoubtedly improved over the Realme 8 as you’ll get more accurate features with a similar Realme UI experience. In addition, the phone offers smooth refresh rate settings, a new chipset, gyro-EIS support, a massive 5000 mAh battery with a 33W fast charger. All these features justify the price but we cannot overlook the fact that the phone lacks some of the remarkable features of the 5G phone. For example, the phone didn’t have NFC enabled or 4K video recording support, but that’s one of the things the company needs to scale down to maintain the cost-effective 5G tag. Of course, users will only miss out on several features of this tag as the cost of the 5G component is slightly higher. But if you’re looking for a decent and affordable 5G phone, the Realme 8s 5G is a fantastic deal. Still, if you’re getting a discount on the Realme 8 5G, buy it first as most features are similar. If you are looking for an alternative option with the 5G tag, there are several options available on the market, like the Motorola G51 smartphone.

The Realme 8 5G was already a solid device at a very competitive price. The Realme 8s 5G successfully boosted the value proposition even further. You get a newer and better MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G chipset, a higher-res 64MP main camera, complete with EIS and faster 33W charging for the 5,000 mAh battery, which delivers excellent battery life. All of this, essentially without inflating the price tag. To be clear, it's far from a perfect device. Depending on your priorities, some features, notably absent on the Realme 8s 5G, that you might be able to get elsewhere include ingress protection, stereo speakers, 4K video capture. An all-around better display might also be on the table. But, nitpicking aside, the Realme 8 5G remains an easy recommendation, particularly if you are in the market for a budget 5G-capable handset. It does not disappoint.

To summarize, the 8s 5G has not lived up to my expectations in terms of cameras or display. While 2021 has seen a flurry of budget and mid-range smartphones with an AMOLED screen and a fairly competitive camera setup, Realme’s bow falls short in both areas. But since it’s a pretty reasonably priced 5G phone, it is entirely up to you whether you want a 5G device with mediocre specs or a 4G handset with superior features.

Realme keeps launching new smartphones, often with overlapping prices. While this results in more options for consumers, it might also cause confusion. The Realme 8s 5G has one of the most powerful processors available at this price point and will appeal to consumers looking for performance. However, to keep the price in check, Realme has gone for a 90Hz display instead of the 120Hz panel that it offers on the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G (Review), and has cut back on the usefulness of the cameras. The triple camera setup on the Realme 8s 5G is good, but I would have preferred an ultra-wide angle camera over the macro camera. The Realme 8s 5G could be a good option for the price but you might also want to consider the slightly more affordable Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G, or the Realme 8 Pro at the same price. Those looking at the top variant of the Realme 8s 5G could look at the iQoo Z3 as a more powerful alternative.

The smartphone is available in two color variants – Universal Purple and Universal Blue. The phone is available for Rs. 17,999 for the 6+128GB variant and Rs. 19,999 for the 8+128GB variant. For this price, you get a device that looks fantastic, handles everyday tasks with ease, has a powerful main camera, and supports 5G. Coming to the competition, the iQOO Z3 5G comes very close at 19,990 to the Realme 8s 5G and features a 120Hz display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G chipset. You can also save some money and get the Redmi Note 10T 5G if 5G is the only thing you care most about. However, all the devices we mentioned above feature an LCD display, but if you want a device that features an AMOLED display with 5G support, you can check out the Realme X7 once.

The RealMe 8s is a great device, especially in terms of display and performance. The company has launched this phone with a MediaTek chipset, and it is the fiery version of the phone company already launched called RealMe 8 5G. The phone lacks in areas like the absence of stereo speakers and a good quality AMOLED screen, but it is still a good device to go for due to its solid performance. There are better options available in the market right now but if you are a fan of Realme and looking for a value for money 5G device, this is the option to consider.

The Realme 8s proves to be an efficient, performance-oriented smartphone. The fact that it’s 5G-capable is an added bonus that customers will start to appreciate in due time, but immediately noticeable will be the excellent low-light photo capturing capabilities of the device. RAM and storage options are good for the starting price and the presence of virtual RAM and a separate microSD card slot is always a nice addition. The device exudes a great in-hand feel for its price and is well balanced in terms of design aesthetics. Some qualms I have with the phone are the absence of an ultra-wide lens, the rather mediocre macro shooter, and the lack of stereo speakers. If these look like deal-breakers to you, then perhaps the Redmi Note 10 Pro could suffice as an alternative. However, if it is good performance and nighttime photography you are after with 5G capability sprinkled on top, the Realme 8s is a reasonable choice.

Realme:
