In the software section, the balance does not lean much towards Xiaomi. The lack of features that we are used to seeing in Samsung’s Dex and iPad OS, deals a big blow to the user experience of the Pad 6 Pro, to the point that the differences between MIUI Pad and MIUI are almost negligible and we can’t consider it a separate personality from the user interface of Xiaomi smartphones. In terms of hardware performance, we see everything we expect from the Snappdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip in the Pad 6 Pro. Excellent performance stability, great performance in games and CPU tests can reassure us about the processing power of the Xiaomi tablet. Finally, we get to the discussion of the price of the Xiaomi tablet and its value for money. As we mentioned in the introduction and throughout the review, the price difference between the Pad 6 Pro and its rivals is quite noticeable. Keep in mind that Samsung gives you its tablets with a pen, but you have to pay a separate fee for Xiaomi’s Smart Pen (and of course the Xiaomi tablet keyboard) and Apple Pencil.

Sur sa gamme de prix, la Xiaomi Pad 6 semble être reine. Comme la Pad 5, cette tablette tactile propose principalement un très bon rapport qualité/prix. Cela se ressent légèrement sur le design, mais particulièrement sur l'écran et les performances. 144 Hz et de belles couleurs au rendez-vous, mais aussi de quoi faire fonctionner « Fortnite » à fond. Le tout avec une autonomie qui tient la route, c'est presque parfait. Alors on pourrait se rêver à profiter d'un capteur d'empreintes digitales ainsi que d'un écran Oled, mais ce serait peut-être trop demander à la Pad 6. Il existe bien des tablettes aux alentours de 300 euros que nous avons testées, mais le gap entre 300 et 400 euros est plus important qu'on ne le pense. L'écran est plus joli, les performances réellement meilleures, ce qui rend l'expérience globale plus agréable.

La nouvelle tablette n'est pas compatible avec le clavier magnétique et le stylet de Xiaomi, contrairement à son prédécesseur. Le Snapdragon 870 a été conservé et le capteur d'empreintes digitales a été supprimé. La Xiaomi Pad 6 en elle-même a un écran de 11 pouces qui ne peut pas être utilisé en plein soleil, mais qui impressionne par son excellent rendu. Bien que, à mon avis, le taux de rafraîchissement de 144 Hz ne soit pas nécessaire et que 120 Hz auraient suffi. Le SoC vieillissant est tout à fait encore à la hauteur. La qualité des photos est pas mal malgré le module photo trompeur.

So, overall, it’s pretty needless to say that Xiaomi has once again delivered a stunning value-for-money tablet with the Pad 6. With the same aggressive pricing strategy, it is an absolute no-brainer to anyone looking for a solid Android tablet that excels at all the basics. And after using this alongside the Oneplus Pad, I also really don’t think you need to be spending almost 50% more on the OnePus Pad. Xiaomi has even managed to price its accessories like keyboard and stylus cheaper compared to OnePlus, which is fantastic. Plus, this second-gen Xiaomi Smart Pen is really good. Like really good. The input latency is almost unnoticeable and I like how it has dedicated buttons with a bunch of built-in shortcuts to help with your workflow. It would’ve been better if there was also some way to edit their actions, but I don’t mind. So yeah, the Xiaomi Pad 6 is yet another slam dunk and it sets the standard for just how good midrange Android tablets can get in 2023.

So, overall, it’s pretty needless to say that Xiaomi has once again delivered a stunning value-for-money tablet with the Pad 6. With the same aggressive pricing strategy, it is an absolute no-brainer to anyone looking for a solid Android tablet that excels at all the basics. And after using this alongside the Oneplus Pad, I also really don’t think you need to be spending almost 50% more on the OnePus Pad. Xiaomi has even managed to price its accessories like keyboard and stylus cheaper compared to OnePlus, which is fantastic. Plus, this second-gen Xiaomi Smart Pen is really good. Like really good. The input latency is almost unnoticeable and I like how it has dedicated buttons with a bunch of built-in shortcuts to help with your workflow. It would’ve been better if there was also some way to edit their actions, but I don’t mind. So yeah, the Xiaomi Pad 6 is yet another slam dunk and it sets the standard for just how good midrange Android tablets can get in 2023.

Even after significantly improving the hardware and design, Xiaomi has managed to price it at exactly the same level as it had priced the Xiaomi Pad 5 – the 6 GB/ 128 GB variant is available at Rs 26,999, while the 8 GB/ 256 GB variant is available for Rs 28,999. At those prices, it is the best tablet in the market by some distance. The iPad (9th Generation) is often available for less than Rs 30,000 but comes with lower storage (64 GB) and comes with the A13 Bionic chip, which shows signs of its age when dragged into the gaming zone. Commentaire

Xiaomi:

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

Qualcomm Adreno 730:

Puce graphique pour smartphones et tablettes intégrée au SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Qualcomm affirme qu'elle est 30 % plus rapide que l'Adreno 660 du SoC Snapdragon 888. Pour Android, elle devrait être l'une des cartes graphiques les plus rapides fin 2021.

Puce graphique pour smartphones et tablettes intégrée au SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Qualcomm affirme qu'elle est 25 % plus rapide que l'Adreno 730 du Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 et les premiers benchmarks montrent que le GPU peut battre l'iGPU A16 d'Apple (auparavant le GPU le plus rapide pour les smartphones).

Qualcomm Snapdragon:

SD 8+ Gen 1:

SoC haut de gamme pour smartphones, introduit fin 2021 et fabriqué en 4 nm chez TSMC. Il intègre un "Prime Core" basé sur une architecture ARM Cortex-X2 cadencée jusqu'à 3,2 GHz. Trois autres cœurs de performance sont basés sur l'A710 mais cadencés jusqu'à 2,5 GHz. En outre, quatre cœurs d'économie d'énergie sont intégrés, basés sur l'architecture ARM Cortex-A510 et cadencés jusqu'à 1,8 GHz. En plus des cœurs de processeur, le SoC intègre un modem WiFi 6e, un DSP Hexagon (pour l'accélération de l'IA) et un ISP Spectra. Le contrôleur de mémoire intégré prend en charge la mémoire rapide LPDDR5 jusqu'à 3 200 MHz. La 5G est désormais incluse dans la puce avec le modem Snapdragon X65. Par rapport à la version non plus, le 8+ Gen 1 offre un Prime Core cadencé à 200 MHz de plus et un GPU cadencé à 10% de plus. De plus, elle est désormais produite par TSMC et non plus par Samsung.

SD 870:

SD 8 Gen 2:

SoC haut de gamme pour smartphones qui a été introduit fin 2022 avec un noyau principal rapide basé sur une architecture ARM Cortex-X3 cadencée jusqu'à 3,2 GHz. Deux autres cœurs performants sont basés sur l'A715 et ne prennent également en charge que les applications 64 bits. Les deux autres cœurs A710 prennent également en charge les applications 32 bits, tout comme les cœurs Cortex-A510, qui permettent d'économiser de l'énergie. En plus des cœurs de processeur, le SoC intègre un modem WiFi 7, un DSP Hexagon (pour l'accélération de l'IA) et un ISP Spectra. Le contrôleur de mémoire intégré prend en charge la mémoire rapide LPDDR5x jusqu'à 4 200 MHz. La 5G est incluse dans la puce avec le modem Snapdragon X70.

11.00: Pour une tablette, cette diagonale d’écran est relativement imposante. A contrario, il s’agit d’un écran de petite taille pour les ultraportables. Certains convertibles embarquent aussi des moniteurs de cette dimension.

Un écran de plus grandes dimensions permettent des résolutions plus élevées, les détails comme la finesse des lettres seront meilleurs. Néanmoins, un écran de plus petite taille est synonyme de consommation énergétique moindre et souvent d’un appareil plus compact, plus léger et plus abordable.
