The Find X8’s autonomy was higher than average, lasting slightly more than three days on a single charge when used moderately. The device reached a full charge in 55 minutes using a wired connection, while wireless charging took 1 hour and 19 minutes to reach full capacity. The device made efficient use of its power, but efficiency was held back by the high residual power consumption that was observed at the end of a full charge, whether using a wired or wireless charger.

There’s a lot that I like about the Oppo Find X8, but my issue with it is that the phone simply doesn’t stand out to me. The phone's look feels pretty generic, and while the camera layout has a certain charm to it, it's still a bit of a hindrance when you hold it. Meanwhile, the AI features are nice to see, but again they all feel a bit by the numbers. That said, the cameras perform very well, and the performance measures up against any phone you can name.

It checks all the boxes for a compact flagship and has no competition when it comes to charging and battery life. Things are a bit shaky for the Find X8 Pro, which is priced at Rs. 99,999 (16GB + 512GB). Firstly, its design feels premium, but it's not as unique as the Find X7 Ultra (Review).

The regular Oppo Find X8 is an excellent, well-rounded device. Sure, there are a few compromises compared to the Pro model. The most notable one is probably the absence of the second telephoto camera, the missing camera key and the smaller battery. Even so, though, we found the Find X8 to be an excellent camera phone, and the trade-offs are reasonable considering its smaller size and lower price. Even the digital 6x zooms it offers aren't half bad. The non-LTPO nature of the display on the vanilla model is a relatively minor drawback. You still get pretty good brightness output, and that hasn't left a notable dent in the battery life.

From a camera perspective, the Find X8 Pro definitely has an edge in the zoom department, as not many premium smartphones offer 6X optical zoom these days. As for the Find X8, despite having fewer cameras, it also seems quite capable, but I'll have to test out both devices in different scenarios to see and deduce each phone's strengths and weaknesses, not just with their cameras but with their design, battery life, and displays as well. I loved the Oppo Find X8 Pro, so it’s no surprise I also love the standard Find X8. This model offers a very similar overall experience, and for a lot of people, it’s probably the sensible choice. To summarise the differences: The X8 has a flatter boxy design, a slightly smaller screen, main camera sensor and battery, and it lacks the 6x lens and camera button. I use the 6x telephoto quite frequently, and I also enjoy the novelty of the dedicated camera button, so for me, the Pro is worth the extra outlay. However, I don’t think that’s the case for everyone, and the Quick Button is far from an essential upgrade. As for the difference in screen size and battery life, the difference is so small that I don’t think it should factor into the equation. The top-notch hardware is one thing, but the Oppo Find X8 also delivers on the software front.

Pour signer le retour du géant chinois sur le terrain du haut de gamme, il met la barre très haut en se confrontant tranquillement au Galaxy S24 Ultra. Vendu 290 euros moins chers à sa sortie à configuration égale (512 Go), il s'aligne sur presque tous les points et délivre une excellente expérience. Sa polyvalence photo nous a séduits, avec un traitement très chaleureux des clichés (même si le mode nuit pourrait être retravaillé). Son autonomie est tout bonnement bluffante, ses performances sont au niveau escompté pour un téléphone haut de gamme (sans être les meilleures du genre) et son écran somptueux se paye en outre une très bonne calibration et un beau pic de luminosité.

On a certes un téléphone de qualité entre les mains, avec de beaux atouts, mais il montre encore des faiblesses qui lui donnent un aspect brouillon. L’IA incomplète, les boutons mal placés, les applications pré-installées trop nombreuses… les petites frustrations sont nombreuses. On pourrait aisément passer outre si la photo de nuit était à la hauteur de son prix, et donc de ses concurrents, mais ce n’est pas le cas. Pour autant, le Find X8 Pro présente un avantage qu’il est impossible de lui enlever : son autonomie et sa charge rapide. Sur ce point, il est incontestablement rassurant. Rien que pour cela, il mérite que l’on s’intéresse à lui, parce qu’il répondra aux besoins de celles et ceux qui ne lâchent jamais leur téléphone et ne souhaitent surtout pas devoir se rapprocher d’une prise de courant vers 18h. On peut bien faire quelques concessions pour avoir un téléphone qui ne s’éteint jamais… non ?

L’Oppo Find X8 Pro est un des smartphones les plus performants sur le marché avec en plus un bloc photo cohérent et polyvalent. On est réellement impressionné par le nouveau SoC Dimensity 9400 qui n’a pas à rougir face à Qualcomm ou Apple. I was excited when I heard the Oppo Find X8 Pro was getting a wider release than the Find X6 Pro, as that phone was one of my favourites of the last couple of years. However, while the Find X8 Pro is excellent, the decision to go with four lenses rather than keep the large sensor for the main lens is a disappointing one for me. It keeps the Find X8 Pro back from greatness, which is a shame. In essence I’ve been spoiled by seeing what is possible, and I don’t want to go back now. Overall, it’s a very well performing device, but it’s reasonably similar to others of its type. The four lenses are all good, but the second of the zoom lenses isn’t amazing, and therefore doesn’t make up for reducing image quality elsewhere – yes I’m complaining about the one-inch sensor being missing, again.

Just because Oppo is choosing to stay away from a brightness competition, doesn't mean you'll be strapped for nits, and unless you absolutely must game above 60fps, you'll be perfectly fine with a Find. The camera system has a few imperfections in our experience, but you can expect that from the Pro when there's an Ultra on the way. Those relatively minor things aside, the Find X8 Pro is a thoroughly competent all-round flagship smartphone. The super powerful chipset is about as good as they come, the battery life is towards the top of the class, the newly-standard next-level water sealing brings extra peace of mind, the camera key can't hurt.

After my initial usage, it's difficult for me to draw a verdict about which phone is better and which phone offers better value. From a camera perspective, the Find X8 Pro definitely has an edge in the zoom department, as not many premium smartphones offer 6X optical zoom these days. They are setting the tone for the upcoming year. Of course, for phone users this is all moot. What matters to them is this: Are the Find X8 and the Find X8 Pro worth buying? Given their performance, cameras and overall quality of hardware, the Find X8 sure seems like a phone worth its price. Yes, there are the OnePlus and Apples and Samsungs out in the market but the Find X8 offers enough to be an excellent option for you. It’s powerful, good-looking, has amazing cameras and plenty of software perks too. As a photography enthusiast, who values camera performance over everything else, I’d pick this over the best from Samsung, Apple or Google. No contest. The competition from brands like Vivo and Xiaomi is fierce, but their best camera phones aren’t currently available in the UK. If we’re just talking about phones you can buy locally, the Find X8 Pro is almost certainly the best for photography. I’d happily put up with more heft if it means larger sensors, and I’ve got my fingers crossed that there’s an X8 Ultra on the horizon. For now, though, this is more than good enough.

Wrapping up, I’m sure that the OPPO Find X8 Pro lives up to the hype. OPPO’s latest flagship excels under almost every segment in this review. It’s one thing for a phone to succeed in one area, but this device took the ball and ran with it. Users are met with a sleek and premium design, smooth display, great cameras, consistent performance, and insane battery life. To top it all off, this smartphone comes with intuitive AI integrations for different tasks too. It might be crazy, but I think that the only thing I don’t like about the device is the bloatware. Then again, it certainly feels like an afterthought, all things considered. OPPO made sure that their personal touches were felt with this device from software to hardware. This was evident with the latest version of ColorOS, the convenience of the slider buttons, and its other features.

This phone captures wonderfully dynamic and detailed shots in pretty much any lighting conditions. The Quick Button might not be as feature-rich as Apple’s Camera Control, and some may prefer how rival brands manage image processing and HDR – but personal taste aside, this is easily up there with the best camera phones on sale today. Price, and the fact many shoppers have moved on to other brands during Oppo’s wilderness years, are what could hold it back.

The Find X8 Pro's flaws are few, smalish, and of somewhat lesser importance than the things it's actually great at. Just because Oppo is choosing to stay away from a brightness competition, doesn't mean you'll be strapped for nits, and unless you absolutely must game above 60fps, you'll be perfectly fine with a Find. The camera system has a few imperfections in our experience, but you can expect that from the Pro when there's an Ultra on the way. Those relatively minor things aside, the Find X8 Pro is a thoroughly competent all-round flagship smartphone. The super powerful chipset is about as good as they come, the battery life is towards the top of the class, the newly-standard next-level water sealing brings extra peace of mind, the camera key can't hurt.

After my initial usage, it's difficult for me to draw a verdict about which phone is better and which phone offers better value. From a camera perspective, the Find X8 Pro definitely has an edge in the zoom department, as not many premium smartphones offer 6X optical zoom these days. As for the Find X8, despite having fewer cameras, it also seems quite capable, but I'll have to test out both devices in different scenarios to see and deduce each phone's strengths and weaknesses, not just with their cameras but with their design, battery life, and displays as well. Oppo:

Ses cartes graphiques ne sont pas faites pour le jeu. Et même si ils tournent, ce sera avec des erreurs d'affichage et un framerate ignoble. Ce cartes graphique sont totalement incompatible avec les joueurs! les applications de bureau et d'Internet, ne sont pas un problème pour ces cartes graphiques.

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

ARM Immortalis-G925 MC12: Il s'agit d'un GPU intégré rapide pour les processeurs ARM, doté de fonctions matérielles de ray tracing, de précision et de super résolution, ainsi que d'autres technologies modernes. Il est prévu qu'il soit presque aussi rapide que le Qualcomm Adreno 830.

Mediatek Dimensity 9000:

Dimensity 9400: Le dernier SoC phare de la société taïwanaise pour les téléphones et tablettes haut de gamme Android, à partir de novembre 2024. Il est doté d'un cœur Cortex-X925 cadencé à 3,62 GHz, de trois cœurs Cortex-X4 (cadencés à 3,25 GHz) et de quatre cœurs Cortex-A720 (cadencés à 2 GHz). Le GPU intégré est l'Immortalis-G925 MP12 ; il est presque aussi rapide que le Qualcomm Adreno 830. Il y a aussi le MediaTek 890 8ème génération NPU avec un cœur "performance" et un cœur "flexible" ainsi que 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth et navigation par satellite. La puce fournit ~9000 points Geekbench 6.3 Multi, ce qui la rend quelques points de pourcentage plus rapide que le Apple A18 Pro et environ 20% plus rapide que le Dimensity 9300.
