Cette troisième génération apporte quelques nouvelles fonctionnalités au modèle de l’an dernier, incluant un NumPad, un lecteur d’empreintes digitales, des bordures d’écran étroites, et une batterie légèrement plus grosse. Les ventilateurs sont plus silencieux, et le processeur chauffe moins. Physiquement, l’appareil n’est cependant pas plus fin ni plus léger.

Excellents composants, performances mitigées. Kaby Lake G nous a impressionné jusqu’à maintenant, mais ses performances dépendent largement du constructeur, et de l’efficacité de son intégration. Le HP Spectre x360 15 n’est malheureusement pas le meilleur exemple de la combinaison Intel / AMD, avec des problèmes de throttling.

Moins cher, un peu mieux équipé et plus endurant que le XPS 15 2-en-1 de Dell, le HP Spectre x360 15 dispose de quelques bons atouts pour faire pencher la balance de son côté, pour peu que vous hésitiez à vous équiper de ce type de machine. Cependant, difficile d'ignorer les problèmes de chauffe et de throttle de la machine, des soucis qui constitueront un handicap dans certains scénarios d'utilisation. Notamment lorsque des applications mobilisent toutes les ressources de la grosse puce Intel/AMD. Reste qu'au moment de faire les comptes, les notes obtenues par ces deux PC portables hybrides convertibles sont vraiment très proches l'une de l'autre. Le HP prend légèrement la main, mais de peu.

Le nouveau HP Spectre x360 est une machine polyvalente qui fait bien les choses. Le convertible marque des points avec ses composants puissants, son clavier rétroéclairé, ses deux ports Thunderbolt 3, sa bonne autonomie et son SSD de 2 To. L’écran tactile prend en charge le stylet HP Tilt Pen, qui donne plus de souplesse à ce convertible de 15 pouces qu’à nombre de ses concurrents.

HP’s Spectre x360 15 (2019) doesn’t use the absolute latest 8th-gen mobile chips, but the six-core Coffee Lake 2.2GHz Core i7-8750H chip is an H-series part, the family of premium, 45-watt Core parts for notebooks. Launched in the second quarter of 2018, it offers excellent performance against rivals powered by quad-core processors. Alternatively, you can opt for a version of the Spectre x360 15 (2019) powered by a 1.8GHz Core i7-8565U, a 15-watt, more modern Amber Lake Core processor that should offer better battery life.

The HP Spectre x360's embrace of OLED worked out swimmingly. Not only does this laptop have a vibrant 15.6-inch 4K display, but it has other excellent qualities like strong performance, a comfortable keyboard and gorgeous design. While its battery life is commendable for a 4K display, I still wish it was a little longer, and the fact that you can't alter the configuration is frustrating.

Here we are, at the end of this review. Sadly, we have to part ways with the Spectre x360 15 (15-df0000). It is definitely one of the most finished devices we have reviewed in a while. Although, like many other laptops, some features come at the expense of something else, we found the compromises made with this one to be the most forgivable. As a possible downside, we would only put the heat output from the keyboard area and a slight coil whine when copying or transferring files to the SSD. In addition to that, the device is a little risky to open, since you have to remove both feet, which are made out of a thin rubber, hence easily tareable.

HP:

Fondée en 1939, la société américaine est un important fabricant de serveurs et d'imprimantes et l'une des principales sociétés informatiques au monde. Jusqu'en 2015, la société s'appelait Hewlett-Packard Company. Après une scission, la division informatique a été renommée HP Inc.

En 2023, HP détenait une part de marché approximative de 22 % des ventes mondiales de PC, ce qui en faisait le numéro 2 après Lenovo.

 

Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

NVIDIA GeForce 940MX:

Carte graphique milieu de gamme basée sur une puce Maxwell. Par rapport à la 940M classique, la version MX prend en charge la mémoire vidéo GDDR5 et ses fréquences peuvent être légèrement rehaussées.

NVIDIA GeForce MX150:

Carte graphique pour portables basée sur la puce Pascal GP108, et version mobile de la GeForce GT 1030 de bureau. Possède 384 nuanceurs et généralement 2 Go de GDDR5 avec un bus mémoire de 64 bits. Fabriquée en 14 nm.

AMD Vega M GL / 870:

Carte graphique intégrée dans le moins puissant des processeurs Kaby Lake G. Possède 20 unités de calcul, soit 1 280 nuanceurs, cadencés entre 931 et 1 011 MHz, avec 4 Go de mémoire graphique HBM2 (sur le même emplacement que le GPU et le CPU). L'enveloppe thermique est de 65 W.

i7-8705G:

Processeur quadricœur pour portables basé sur l'architecture Kaby Lake, cadencé entre 3,1 et 4,1 GHz. Intègre 4 Go de mémoire graphique rapide HBM2 qui peut également être utilisée comme cache CPU. Possède une enveloppe thermique élevée de 65 W, qui peut permettre de meilleures performances par rapport au Core i7-7920HQ similaire. Proche du Core i7-8706G, mais sans la compatibilité vPro.

i7-8565U:

Processeur quadricœur Whiskey Lake basse consommatoin (techniquement identique aux processeur Kaby Lake mais gravé grâce à un procédé 14 nm++ amélioré). Les quatre cœurs sont cadencés entre 1,8 et 4,6 GHz (Turbo Boost) et prennent en charge l'HyperThreading.

Intel Coffee Lake:

i7-8750H:

Processeur basé sur l'architecture Coffee Lake, pour les portables gros et lourds. Intègre six cœurs cadencés entre 2,2 et 4,1 GHz (4 GHz avec 4 cœurs, 3,9 GHz avec 6 cœurs), qui supportent l'hyper-threading. Fabriqué en 14 nm amélioré (14 nm++).

Intel Comet Lake:

i7-10510U:

Processeur Comet Lake quadricœur basse consommation (techniquement identique à Whiskey Lake et toujours produit en 14 nm++). Les cœurs peuvent monter entre 1,8 et 4,9 GHz (4,3 GHz avec les 4 cœurs), avec Hyperthreading (8 threads). Le contrôleur mémoire intégré prend en charge le DDR4-2666 et en utilisant le cTDP à la hausse ou à la baisse, les performances peuvent être ajustées par le fabricant (15 W par défaut, 10 à 25 W possibles).
