The laptop isn't designed to be carried around all the time (although there's nothing stopping you from doing that) and battery life is pretty weak too. Other than these two factors though, it performs well in gaming, if you don't have very high expectations. It also has a very good anti-glare screen, looks stylish, and is upgradeable. We strongly recommend adding another stick of RAM and an SSD for better overall performance if you do plan on getting it, but then again this will push the price up by quite a bit. Also, given how quickly Asus refreshes its lineup, we wouldn't be surprised to see a Skylake version of the GL552JX in the near future.

Our first opinion on the notebook stays the same – it looks like a ROG device, but doesn’t leave the same impression. The build quality isn’t what we are used to seeing on a ASUS ROG notebook – the plastic feels cheap (except for the interior, the interior feels pretty nice), it’s heavier (2.6 kg) and bulkier than most of its competitors with even more powerful hardware, and finally the lid bends too much when the smallest amount of pressure is applied. The touchpad is also awful with the wobbling effect getting in the way all the time. It makes it a challenge when using the left and right mouse buttons. At least the keyboard is good with the right amount of key travel and tactile feedback.

Le jeu,illimité. Le slogan d'Asus pour son nouveau ROG de 15 pouces est "jouer sans limite", mais la campagne publicitaire est trompeuse avec une GeForce GTX 950M. Si ses performances vous suffisent, vous aurez droit à un ordinateur portable multimédia équilibré, équipé d'un SSD et d'excellents périphériques d'entrée. Pour 1200 euros, l'écran est lui aussi convaincant, mais l'ensemble n'est malheureusement pas exempt de défauts.

The Asus RoG GL552 is a more affordable, lower-spec take on the RoG G752, which is one of the best gaming laptops money can buy right now. Any resemblance is mostly visual, though. Superficial parts of the build are worse, the screen is nowhere near as good and the trackpad is typical slightly annoying Windows laptop fodder. It’s definitely not the perfect laptop. However, in terms of providing a solid gaming experience for your cash, it’s a decent buy. The GTX 960M GPU hits the sweet spot, where it cam handle demanding games at reasonable settings without costing as much as a second-hand car. One you’d actually want to drive, anyway. Screen quality is a sticking point at this price. Apparently £900 isn’t enough to have an IPS screen, even though previous GL552 models (and current ones in other countries) use such a panel. So if you see a different version of the GL552 with an IPS screen, it's likely to be a better buy than this exact one.

As we said earlier, it’s hard to assess the notebook given the fact that the new G552VW is actually the GL552VW. On American soil, the laptop sells under the GL552VW name while in Europe the notebook is known as a successor to the G552. The latter, unfortunately, is further from the truth. The G552VW costs, at least, €150 more than the GL552VW but doesn’t offer anything in return. The lid gets an aluminum overhaul, but the rest of the chassis remains the same – flexible plastic and not enough sturdiness. We kind of miss the aluminum chamfered edges from the old G551. It’s definitely a step down in terms of design and build quality. Also, the old touchpad (of the G551) felt kind of sturdier, more reliable.

A lot of things changed since the last generation (you can read our in-depth review here). ASUS has bumped up the specs to a new quad-core Skylake CPU – Core i7-6700HQ, that should bring a marginal increase in performance and a little improvement over in the battery department. Also, the CPU is now accompanied by DDR4 RAM and GeForce GTX 960M instead of the GTX 950M, and the latter is really a huge deal. The higher-end GTX 960M offers a lot more horsepower under the hood and, of course, GDDR5 VRAM instead of DDR3 in the GTX 950M. This will result in a great performance leap over the last generation GL552, but the price gets an “update” as well, the GPU being the main reason for that.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. est un important fabricant de matériel informatique taïwanais basé à Taipei, fondé en 1989. Sous la marque Asus, la société fabrique une large gamme de produits, notamment des ordinateurs portables, des ordinateurs de bureau, des cartes mères, des cartes graphiques, des moniteurs, des smartphones et des équipements réseau. , des systèmes complets et des composants PC pour les utilisateurs finaux.
Sous la marque ROG (Republic of Gamers), ASUS fabrique des ordinateurs portables de jeu connus des joueurs pour leurs spécifications puissantes, leurs cartes graphiques dédiées, leurs écrans à taux de rafraîchissement élevé et leurs systèmes de refroidissement avancés.
Au-delà des jeux, une large gamme d'ordinateurs portables est proposée pour différents besoins et budgets, des ultrabooks ultra-minces et légers aux convertibles 2-en-1 polyvalents et aux options économiques. En 2023, Asus détenait une part de marché mondiale de 7 % sur le marché des PC.
La satisfaction des clients vis-à-vis des ordinateurs portables ASUS concerne les performances, les fonctionnalités et le bon rapport qualité-prix des ordinateurs portables ASUS. Cependant, comme pour toute marque, des problèmes tels que la surchauffe, la compatibilité des pilotes ou des problèmes de qualité de construction sont parfois signalés.
Ces cartes devraient être capables de faire tourner tout les jeux d'aujourd'hui, mais la plupart d'entre eux uniquement en détails moyens ou faibles et avec des résolution basses. Les plus vieux jeux ou les jeux moins gourmands restent jouables avec de beaux graphismes.

Intel Core i7:
4720HQ:
Processeur quad-core de génération Haswell, cadencé à 2,6 GHz pouvant être sur-cadencé à 3,6 GHz avec le Turbo Boost. Le processeur offre une carte graphique intégrée HD Graphics 4600 et un contrôleur mémoire double canal DDR3.
6700HQ:
Processeur quad-core basé sur l'architecture Skylake pour ordinateur portable. Il offre une puce graphique intégrée HD Graphics 530. Le processeur est gravé selon une lithographie d'une finesse de 14 nm.

Ce poids est le plus répandu parmi les ordinateurs portables standards de 14-16 pouces.
2.6 kg:
75.07%: La note n'est pas convaincante. On doit considérer qu'il n'y a pas beaucoup d'ordinateurs portables qui reçoivent une note en dessous de 60%. Ce portable est en dessous de la moyenne, Nous ne conseillons pas vraiment son achat.
