Critiques pour le/la Realme GT Neo 2
The realme GT NEO 2 surprises with an unusual color option in the test and convinces with a lot of performance and a long runtime for quite little money. Only the camera has some catching up to do...

The Realme GT Neo 2 runs Android 11 with the Realme UI 2.0 user interface overlay. As usual with Realme, there is a lot of bundled software, including social media and online shopping apps. You can uninstall these apps if they're not required. The Realme GT Neo 2 offers some impressive specifications at a competitive price. While its main appeal may lie among gamers, this phone's good battery life, great AMOLED screen and high-quality speakers also make it suitable for more mainstream use cases. And if you like your phone to look distinctive, the lime green option delivers that.

The Realme GT Neo 2 5G audio performance showed some improvement over the GT 5G, which was released only a few months earlier and at a slightly higher price. While playback performance was similar to that of the Realme GT 5G, the GT Neo 2 5G showed a marked improvement in recording, particularly when used for meetings and life videos, all which helped boost the overall performance.

Now the most important thing: is Realme GT Neo 2 worth your attention ? First of all, if the appearance convinced you - yes. However, if you wanted to think more about the technology side of this device, you will surely be satisfied with its performance and the quality of the display. The photos will also not disappoint, as will the battery performance, and you will also be pleased with the very fast charging. Well, I don't see much of a downside here. It is a very honest, decent, mid-range smartphone. Traditionally, I am bothered by the fact that it is not waterproof, I am bothered by the lack of a mini-jack, and I am also bothered by the fact that it is not possible to enlarge my memory. I do not complain about the lack of inductive charging, because the wired one is fast and compensates for the lack of it. Two more words about prices. The basic model 8 + 128 GB costs 449 EU, while 12 + 256 GB, which I would honestly recommend to you in this case, unfortunately costs 549 euro.

The Realme GT Neo 2 5G shows some frame drops at 30 fps and 60 fps, but no frame drops are visible when playing games; further, it does not show any frame duplications and appears sharp on moving objects. After jumping forward or back in the timeline, the GT Neo 2 5G pauses before resuming video playback. The Realme GT Neo 2 5G is accurate when zooming in the gallery app, although the zoom is capped. The device’s smoothness when gaming is satisfying. The Realme device handles flicker well. It responds to some ghost touches from time to time, but manages them well overall.

Launched in September 2021, the GT Neo 2 is Realme’s latest contribution to the High-End segment, and it looks like an attractive option at its price point. The Android operating system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset and up to 12GB of RAM. The built-in storage of 256GB of offers plenty of space for pictures and videos, which can be viewed on a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The camera is built around a primary module with a 64 MP sensor and f/1.8 aperture lens. It is accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide with a 15.7mm equivalent focal length and a dedicated macro camera with 2 MP resolution. In video mode, you can record clips up to 4K resolution.

By in large, the Realme GT Neo2 5G is an incredible phone and offers incredible value. Thankfully, Realme didn’t limit the phone’s release to China, as you can easily get it in other regions of the world. Two-day battery life, a 120Hz refresh rate, sleek design, and impressive performance make for a device that you should definitely be considering. Even the 64MP main camera is good enough to help make up for the subpar experience found in the other two built-in sensors. But the phone ships with Android 11, with Realme already delaying the rollout of Android 12. At the time of this writing, there’s not much indication as to when that update could be arriving, so we would have liked to see Android 12 available already. You can grab the Realme GT Neo2 5G on Amazon for less than $500, but you might be able to find it even lower at other retailers. If you want one of the most impressive phones of the past year, then you won’t be disappointed by Realme’s latest offering.

There is no end to flagship killers, and the Realme GT Neo 2 has become the last representative of this class, offering a similar set of functions for a lower price. This is a nice, well-assembled smartphone with an excellent display, a powerful hardware, an interesting cooling system and simply excellent battery life. Its cameras are a little behind the competition, but they are more than enough for most users.

Already on sale in India and Europe, Realme’s GT Neo 2 represents a slight muddying of the GT series when you consider the GT 5G model. While the Nord 2 5G boasts a better camera experience, the GT Neo 2 has a more appealing design and is more powerful and longer-lasting than OnePlus’s mid-ranger. The combination of the Snapdragon 870 processor, the 120Hz AMOLED display, excellent battery life, and the speedy 65W charging makes the Realme GT Neo 2 a compelling mid-range offering, especially in the Neo Green and Neo Blue colorways.

After using the Realme GT Neo 2 for more than a week, it's clear that it's not an all-rounder. This is mainly down to its unreliable camera performance, which fell short of expectations, given its price tag. Simply put, you can get better camera performance from Realme's own GT Master Edition (Review), which is priced a lot lower, starting from Rs. 25,999. What you can't get anywhere else is the hardcore gaming performance that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC and this phone's cooling system enable. It's missing dedicated trigger buttons and RGB lighting, which you'd get with the Poco F3 GT (Review), but instead, this phone gives you a high-quality AMOLED display and excellent battery life. At this price point, it's hard to recommend anything else to a mobile gamer. For the non-gamer, there's the Xiaomi's Mi 11X (Review) which also has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor and an IP53 rating, but dials down the display specs, battery life, and charging speed in favour of a slimmer design. So, the GT Neo 2 still offers good value at Rs. 31,999, provided you are okay with its average camera performance.

On our first look at the GT Neo 2 it's not at all difficult to see the appeal of such a phone. It's sleek, but has a mega battery, almost top tier processing power and a 120Hz screen that's up there with the best of them (on paper at least). With a price tag of just €449 in Europe, it's incredibly competitive. But as we've seen most of this year, Realme is still in a very competitive market space. The likes of Redmi and Poco have been offering similar devices at lower prices. However, with Android 12 loaded on the newest model, that could tempt some buyers onboard the Realme train.

The Realme GT Neo 2 is an impressively complete mid-range smartphone. Its colour options run the gamut from restrained class to gaudy muscle car, and its display is crisp and fluid. Performance is very good for the price, courtesy of a Snapdragon 870. Together with an unusually meaty cooling system, it’s capable of running fast and cool. Meanwhile, a large 5000mAh battery supplies excellent stamina, and the bundled 65W charger is extremely fast. Its camera system offers nothing special, and it fails to set the pulse racing quite like the Realme GT before it. But the Realme GT Neo 2 is as poised an all-round package as you’ll find for the money.

We can’t help but feel the Realme GT Neo 2 doesn’t quite compare to the original GT - that device felt better in the hand, was more powerful, and cost roughly the same amount, and given the choice between them, we’d buy the GT. Oh, and the Neo 2 seems to somehow have even more bloatware than its predecessor. Some people might find the Neo 2 preferable though - its Snapdragon 870 isn’t as prone to overheating, and the bigger display will be more useful for gaming and streaming media. Stay tuned for our full review at some point soon, when we’ll be able to give a full verdict on the phone and how it compares to other similar mobiles.

The new Realme GT Neo 2 hits the sweet spot, right between mid-range and affordable flagship territory. It is priced at Rs 31,999 but is currently available for Rs 30, 189. It will appeal to a lot of users in terms of performance. This is purely for those who want a phone with Snapdragon 800 series processor that can play graphically demanding games, and even offer a good binge-watching experience at an affordable price, which has always been Realme’s core strategy to attract users.

To sum up this review, the Realme GT Neo 2 is a pretty well-balanced phone. It offers something for everyone… it has a flagship-level performance, fairly reliable cameras, hands-down one of the best displays in its price range, and a good set of stereo speakers for those who are into content consumption. The only thing that’s missing with this phone—at least for me—is maybe a better design. I would have liked for Realme to take the design inspiration from the GT Master Explorer Edition, which has one of the best designs on a smartphone thanks to its curved display, a more premium glass back, and metal frames. Plus, if Realme had offered the 50MP sensor from the Explorer Edition here, I think Neo 2’s cameras would have been even better. And as things stand, its camera is still inferior to that of the iQOO 7 and Galaxy A52s. So, the GT Neo 2 shouldn’t be your first choice, if cameras are your topmost priority.

Realme GT Neo 2 smartphone brings you fabulous features that allow you to be unlimited and compared to the competition, the camera, processing power, and battery life is the best inline. Overall software optimization is good enough to provide a decent experience. Hence, if you’re looking for a hardcore gaming phone definitely go for this phone. But don’t worry if you prefer to play, then the Vivo iQOO 7 is worth your time. Its ample battery performance, 4k video recording, night mode all look good and can easily compete with higher-level smartphones and give a premium feel. Lastly, if you’re willing to forget the 3.5mm connector and secondary storage slot, the deal is worth recommending.

Realme GT Neo 2 5G is officially sold in three color options – Neo Green, Neo Blue, and Neo Black in two storage and RAM configurations. The 8+128GB is available for Rs. 31,999 and the 12+256GB will sell for 35,999. The device fits perfectly in Realme’s device catalog alongside the Realme X7 Max and the Realme GT master edition with some party tricks up its sleeve. For the price, it faces stiff competition from Oneplus Nord 2 and iQOO 7. The OnePlus Nord 2 has a powerful Mediatek Dimensity 1200 chipset but has a 90Hz display instead of 120Hz, and the iQOO 7 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. Competitors also include the popular Xiaomi Mi 11X, which has similar specifications. The Realme GT Neo 2 5G lines up with the competition and is a true contender. It is hard to choose one over the other, and it is all a matter of personal preference. If you are looking for a device with an excellent display, great performance, and good design, and can handle average cameras, you should consider the Realme GT Neo 2 5G as it does not disappoint on these fronts.

The Realme GT Neo2 is probably the phone with one of the highest price/performance ratios in its class, outpaced only by considerably pricier handsets. The Snapdragon 870 SoC is capable of some serious number crunching and works well with the speedy 120Hz OLED panel. Pity that it doesn't go north of 60Hz in games, an issue we found with the previous generation. The big battery, fast charging and rather long endurance build a very compelling case for the GT Neo2 - not to mention the loud stereo speakers. However, if you are looking for a phone that excels in photography, the GT Neo2 shouldn't be your first choice. There are quite a few more competent and versatile alternatives. Not that the Neo2's camera experience is lackluster, it's just that we've seen better. We did like the 4K video recording, nighttime performance and the granular control over the hardware provided by the camera software.

The Realme GT NEO 2 packs quite a punch for its asking price. It offers a snappy processor, a nice and fluid display, super-fast charging, and that hugely expandable Virtual RAM. The cameras could use a touch of improvement, especially the macro shooter… but that’s really the only niggle. Overall, the GT NEO 2 is a friend for all power users looking for a smooth-performing smartphone under Rs 30,000.

The Realme GT Neo 2 has three rear cameras, including a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. Selfies are handled by a 16-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. The phone features a 5,000mAh battery, which is a first for the GT series. The GT Neo 2 charges up using the 65W charger found in the box. The phone runs Realme UI 2.0 which is based on Android 11. The Realme GT Neo 2, just like its siblings, seems to offer good hardware given its price. This phone could turn out to be an all-rounder in its segment if it can shoot good photos and video as well as deliver solid battery life and performance for gaming. This is what will determine its appeal not just to the gaming crowd, but also to those looking for a good all-rounder with a budget that can stretch to slightly over Rs. 30,000. Realme is positioning the GT NEO 2 smartphone model as a gaming device. But is it really so? Let’s find out. If we talk about the appearance, the device has a choice of both conventional color options and a bright green color with black stripes. But here I have not identified any triggers that would be useful in games. But the performance thanks to the Snapdragon 870 processor also proved to be worthy. I could easily play modern games and, at the same time, I did not observe any particular overheating of the device. The camera is also quite good, although I did not find much improvement in comparison with the previous generation of the model. But the battery life has increased slightly due to the increased capacity of the built-in battery up to 5000 mAh. I also liked the 65W fast charging feature. Of the minuses, I can single out this lack of a memory card slot and a headphone jack. Also, the RAM received the LPDDR4X format, not LPDDR5. And the main camera module does not have optical stabilization, but only digital stabilization.

OnePlus started the idea of a flagship killer that offered flagship specs at lower than flagship prices. While that company has moved on to raise its prices to flagship levels, Realme’s GT Neo 2 is more than ready to take its place. Sure, it does have some compromises in the camera department, but this phone’s target demographic might not be too interested in taking photos and videos anyway. For that, Realme offers the GT 5G and GT Master Editions instead, but you have to be ready to pay the literal price for those. It all boils down to pricing and availability, and the GT Neo 2 definitely checks all the boxes. Ranging from 2,499 RMB ($388) to 2,699 RMB ($420), it’s hard to believe that the phone packs quite a punch at those prices. Of course, international SRPs will vary widely, and the phone won’t even be available in all markets, particularly the US. For those that can easily get the phone, though, the Realme GT Neo 2 definitely dares to leap into the flagship arena with a very convincing promise.

Commentaire
Qualcomm Adreno 650:
