At a starting price of Rs. 12,999, the Redmi Pad SE doesn't have a lot of competitors. You can either go for Lenovo's offerings, but those offer lower specifications. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 also provides a better display but features a slower processor and lesser RAM. However, you can go for the Honor Pad X9, which offers much better hardware, albeit at a slightly higher price tag. Finally, there are similarly spec'd tablets, such as the Oppo Pad Air (Review), which offers a better display but a slightly smaller battery and a Snapdragon 680 SoC. The Redmi Pad SE is a really well-built, budget Android tablet that is of good value for money. The display is good, the sound is excellent, and the large 8,000mAh battery can easily last you a couple of days. You also get the Android 14 update on the tablet.

Overall, the Redmi Pad SE is a decent option for those seeking a tablet for education, learning, and occasional content streaming. Priced from Rs 12,999, the device offers good value for money in its segment and serves as a reliable secondary portable device. However, if you need a tablet with powerful performance or an exceptional content-watching experience, there are other alternatives available in the market.

The Redmi Pad SE is a good tablet for those not looking to spend a lot of money. While the display has thick bezels and the charging speed could be faster, these are minor trade-offs considering the overall performance and features. If you are on a budget and need a reliable tablet for entertainment and everyday tasks, the Redmi Pad SE is definitely worth considering.

At Rs 12,999, the Redmi Pad SE is easily the best new budget tablet out there by some distance. Bring slightly older tablets into the story, however, and the Redmi Pad SE will have to contend with its own predecessor as its main rival. As we have pointed out, the Redmi Pad is available at the same price as the Redmi Pad SE and, in some places, even at lower prices. While the Redmi Pad SE does bring a bigger display, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and an 8 GB RAM variant, the Redmi Pad has a higher resolution display, a better front camera, a faster charger in the box, and what some might consider to be most important of all – a better processor. The bigger display, greater amount of RAM, and audio jack make the Redmi Pad SE a very good option for those looking for a tablet that is more of a workhorse than a benchmark buster. Unlike humans, all work and no play makes the Redmi Pad SE a good tab.

The Redmi Pad SE can be yours starting at Rs 11,999. This is hands down the most feature-packed tablet you can find in case you are tight on budget. However, if you can extend your budget for the 8GB RAM option, which costs Rs 14,999, the Redmi Pad SE has a few competitors. The Realme Pad 2 and Honor Pad X9 are good alternatives since they features screens with higher screen refresh rates and faster charging speeds. You can read more about the Realme Pad 2 in our full review. The Redmi Pad SE, meanwhile, is packaged well with higher RAM and storage configurations for the price. Additionally, it boasts a sleek design, decent display, and satisfactory performance. The battery life is also respectable, and the software features enhance the overall multimedia experience. Despite minor drawbacks like the lack of a fingerprint scanner and slow charging, the Redmi Pad SE presents excellent value for budget-conscious consumers seeking a reliable tablet for everyday tasks.

The Ziaomi Redmi Pad SE is definitely worth a look if you are looking for an Android tablet that is under that crucial $300 price point. It's a bit difficult to believe that at this price, you can get a solidly built tablet with an aluminum enclosure, a high refresh display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, up to 8GB RAM, and expandable storage, all alongside at least two OS updates. While that all looks good on paper — err, on-screen — it also works well in practice. I really enjoyed my time with this device and would have no problem recommending it to anyone who wants a midsized tablet for casual use. The Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE had no issues running apps side by side, streaming movies, or playing games. Sure, there's still space for improvement — I wish it had some kind of fingerprint scanner and that the speakers had a broader sound stage — but for $240, this tablet is a winner.

The Redmi Pad SE is currently going for just €150, a fairly good deal in our books. We liked the display, the build, the battery life and the speakers. The UI is highly customizable, albeit too heavy for the Snapdragon 680 SoC in some cases. However, consider some of the most prominent drawbacks we found. The most annoying thing is the lack of an ambient light sensor - you can't rely on the automatic brightness mode. And secondly, the charging could be faster. Sure, an argument can be made that this device will probably stay at home most of the time so it would never be far from an outlet. Still, this is one of the slowest charging tablets we've tested. If you are willing to spend just a tad more, then maybe you should consider the Xiaomi Pad 6, which has a better screen with an ambient light sensor, offers a more powerful chip and runs on the same software. Alternatively, the older Redmi Pad, the Oppo Pad Air and the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ may be up your alley depending on your software preferences, but the overall experience and hardware are similar.

At a price of just £199 – and likely cheaper, given Xiaomi’s love of a sale – the Redmi Pad SE is one of the most affordable full-sized tablets on the market. It certainly looks and feels like a more expensive tablet, with a tidy all-metal build. Its display is big and fluid too, and together with good quad speakers, it’s a decent portable video streaming tool. Special mention, too, for the Redmi Pad SE’s stamina, which is capable of carrying you through multiple days on a single charge. However, hamstrung performance, sluggish charging, and mediocre software keep this tablet feeling its price tag whenever you try to do much beyond simple streaming. It’s useful, but in a very limited sense.

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed my experience with the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE. The powerful speakers mean that streaming sounds great, and the screen is also great to use indoors. Plus, it doesn’t run out of battery easily. Sure, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE makes compromises in some areas – all budget tablets do to keep the costs down. However, these shortcomings are all in the right areas, such as the cameras and charging speeds. If you want a tablet just for videos and day-to-day tasks and don’t want to spend a lot of money, then this is a stellar choice.

Despite some of the compromises made to make it more affordable, the Redmi Pad SE is a decent budget tablet in the Philippines. This is made better with its use of MIUI 14 which has a better optimization for tablets.

From the specification point of view, this Redmi Pad SE continues the excellent workmanship of the previous generation. At a price of 1,000 yuan, it has 11 inches + stereo four speakers for audio and video. It is difficult to find a better tablet at the same price. With a relatively limited budget, we naturally cannot expect its performance to be as good as that of flagship products to meet the needs of daily use. In addition, it has a very high-quality metal body design with no breakpoints on the back. There is really no better product in its category. Good product too. We actually measured the performance of “Genshin Impact” with the default image quality + 60 FPS. It can reach the level of 33.3 FPS, and the temperature is only 40°C. With such results, the performance of games such as “QQ Speed” and “Honor of Kings” that do not require high screen load will be smoother than the hardware killer “Genshin Impact”.

The Redmi tablet is an absolute entry-level tablet on the spec sheet, which is also underlined by the price tag. However, the Android 13 tablet turns out to be a real premium device in the hand and in daily use on the couch at home. The processor in the device is more mid-range, especially when it comes to graphics. This implies that demanding games like PUBG or Fortnite might not run optimally on the Redmi tablet. However, for all other regular activities and daily tasks, there are no limitations. The 6 nm SoC is not only compact but also quite contemporary. Nevertheless, there is no LTE feature. Neither is stylus nor keyboard support. Too bad, Xiaomi, because you almost convinced us with the audio jack and the microSD card support and got the full score. Thus, there are still deductions in the B score in the last meters, and it is only enough for 4.5 stars—but from the heart!

Commentaire
Qualcomm Adreno 610:
