Critiques pour le/la Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max

With the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max, Xiaomi has really outdone itself in the design department, I just wish it had pushed a bit more on the performance front. The Redmi Note 9 Pro, while a great phone, is in that awkward position where it’s just a little bit cheaper than its far more capable sibling, and not as good value as its nearest rival, the Realme 6.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is a great smartphone. It has a lot to offer for a bargain price and will not disappoint its users. Realme may have a phone with a 90Hz display at this price point, the Redmi Note 9 Pro trumps it with a glass design and a larger battery. It is also part of the MIUI ecosystem, which may mean something for a lot of you.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max excels in battery life, camera and build quality. The display is below par if we compare it with competition and performance is decent. Unlike previous years, the Xiaomi is no more an automatic choice in mid-range as the competition from other brands especially Realme is quite fierce.

The phone was launched at Rs. 14,999, but after the GST price hike, the phone starts at Rs. 16,499 for the 6GB RAM with 64GB version, which is still a good option in the price range since the price of other phones have also increased. The center punch-hole LCD screen with minimal bezels is good, but lacks 90Hz high refresh rate LCD screen or an AMOLED screen with Always-on-display feature. The phone has better cameras compared to the Note 9 Pro comes with a premium glass body. It offers smooth performance and excellent battery life with support for 33W fast charging, which the Note 9 Pro lacks.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max offer a considerable improvement over the Note 9 Pro. The main camera is much better than the regular model while the selfie camera makes selfies look more colourful. The faster charging does help when you need a quick top-up. Starting at Rs 16,499, the Note 9 Pro Max is highly impressive.

So summing up, how good is the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in terms of camera? The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max with the Samsung’s GW1 sensor does well in daylight, close up, macros, portrait, video recording and also selfie camera. There isn’t much to complain except for the low light experience which we feel should have been a tad better.

As for the battery charging test as per Xiaomi the Redmi Note 9 Pro max takes about 30 minutes to charge to 50%, and as per my test from 40% to 100% it took about 58 minutes. So you can expect about 1 hour 30 minuets or so for full charge. Do note the Note 9 pro max comes with 5020 mAh battery.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max comes as the successor to the Redmi Note 8 Pro (Review) and has some huge responsibilities to shoulder. After testing this device we can say that it is better than the Redmi Note 8 Pro on multiple counts. The new Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is more powerful, offers better battery life, packs in good cameras, and runs the latest version of Android. However, its impact is somewhat softened by its more affordable sibling, the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

This Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and the non-Max model do share a lot of hardware. The primary and selfie cameras are the main distinguishing factors between the two models. Also, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max supports faster 33W charging and comes with a suitable charger in the box, while the non-Max model has to do with 18W. Camera performance could very well be the only parameter that sets the two models apart. The variants of these two models also overlap in price, so the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max isn't that much more expensive. Should you spend a little extra money for it?

Qualcomm Adreno 618:
