The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S comes with a better chipset, a more powerful charger, an FHD vs HD screen, and more RAM than its rivals in this comparison, the Realme C21 and the Vivo Y20s, also in the Essential category. The table below shows the battery capacity, charger, display type and resolution, and processor specifications for all three devices. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S is very well-balanced and one of the best devices you can buy if you are looking for decent specs for a low price.

The Note 10S is the latest offering in Xiaomi’s more affordable Redmi line of smartphones. Falling within our Advanced price segmentation of devices costing between $200 to $399, it comes with some attractive specs for the budget-conscious consumer. The display is a 6.43-inch AMOLED with 2400 x 1080 resolution and MediaTek’s Helio G95 chipset provides the processing. The Redmi Note 10S comes with either 6 or 8 GB of RAM, and 64 or 128 GB of storage, and there’s a high-capacity 5000 mAh battery with fast 33W charging. Billed as the “64 MP adventurer,” the Redmi Note 10S houses four camera modules, which is impressive at this price point. Its main 64 MP wide camera is complemented by an ultra-wide module with an 118° field of view, as well as dedicated macro and depth sensors. There’s no tele lens for long-range zoom enthusiasts. 4K 30 fps is the top-end video option, as well as 60 fps capture when you drop the resolution to 1080p.

Redmi Note 10S is priced at Php 10,990, for the 6GB of ram and 128GB of storage. If you want the 8GB variant that will cost you an additional 1000 pesos. Overall Redmi Note 10S doesn’t offer much of an upgrade from its younger brother but does have some downgrade from the big one. Considering its price you can pretty much opt for a different Redmi Note 10 device that offers the same features but on a more affordable package. But still, it does have its own strengths especially its battery life, and more reliable gaming performance than the vanilla. So pretty much we did get the upgraded vanilla version that has a higher camera resolution and a chipset for your gaming needs.

The Redmi Note 10S is a middle option between the Redmi Note 10 and a more sophisticated Redmi Note 10 Pro. The device has a modern design and a massive camera module. The smartphone has a bright juicy Super AMOLED screen and medium-power processor, which runs most modern games, but there's an issue of overheating.

This is the first Redmi Note phone that is just good enough. At times one needs to question the reason for its existence since there are other great Redmi Note 10 models that can provide everything this phone can in a more capable package. That being said it comes with its own set of strengths — its battery life is definitely superior to its other Redmi Note 10 cousins and its new blue colour is very attractive. But at a budget price, it just about makes the cut, as spending slightly more will get you a better screen and camera combination in a knockout package that too from the house Xiaomi.

The Redmi Note 10S is available at a really great price but smartphones that are available for around or under £200 do come with compromises and with the Redmi Note 10S these come in terms of image quality. Images can be good in conditions where lighting isn't too tricky to handle and when the smartphone doesn't have to work too hard to balance a wide dynamic range but overall, it's a bit hit and miss. The portrait/aperture mode is surprisingly good, though, and the wide-angle lens produces the best quality images out of the lenses that are on offer. The positives include the size/weight of the smartphone which fits well in the hand, the price (obviously), there's a headphone jack, and also a decent battery built-in. Overall, if you don't want to splash a lot of cash and like to keep things simple, you may like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S but if you can, pay a bit extra for the Redmi Note 10 Pro which we 'Recommended.

It’s not difficult to see that with the Note 10S you’re getting a decent phone for a fairly good R5k (the Redmi Note 9 went for an impressive R4k). However, Xiaomi doesn’t make it easy to choose, since the 5G enabled Redmi Note 10 5G retails at R4 500, while the Redmi Note 10 Pro with better specs retails for R5 500. My suggestion - rather go with the Redmi Note 10 Pro if you can afford the extra R500.

Redmi Note 10s is another variant of the Redmi Note 10 Series. It stands in the middle of the Note 10 and the Note 10 Pro. It offers us an AMOLED display and gaming chipset which is the MediaTek G95 unlike the note 10's Snapdragon 678. The question is will the gaming performance be any different than the vanilla version? The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S has an official tag of PHP 11,990 (8GB + 128GB). Compared to the lower Redmi Note 10, the upgrade you’re really paying for with the Note 10S is the more optimized performance and slight upgrade on the camera department with a 64MP lens. Yeah, it’s not much of an upgrade but it’s still worth getting if you’re on a tight budget of Php12,000. Compared to other smartphones with closely similar specifications, this is slightly more affordable.

From what you get out of the box for a budget mid-ranger, our review of the Redmi Note 10S in the Philippines shows that it is still a good deal. It has a powerful processor, a great screen, and long battery life with fast charging. The cameras could be a little better, but for the price, their performance is perfectly acceptable. There’s also no 5G here, but let’s be real: the phone’s target market isn’t really concerned about that VS the overall value proposition that the phone offers.

The Redmi Note 10S proves to be a surprisingly value-packed workhorse phone with an AMOLED display, expandable storage, a huge battery and a solid set of specifications for its weight class. Save for the lack of 5G, the Redmi Note 10S is a solid bargain for what you pay for.

Would I suggest you to buy the Redmi Note 10S? It really depends. Out of all the smartphones in the Redmi Note 10S series, it sits right in the middle. It has all the essential features that the Redmi Note 10 Pro has, barring the chipset and lack of a higher refresh rate. If you don’t mind missing out on those, I’d say that the RM899 price tag for the device is rather decent. For that, I award the Redmi Note 10S our Bronze Pokdeward.

Finally – for the price. At RM899, it’s still a phone that offers better value than the Redmi Note 10 5G, in our opinion. However, for only yet another RM100 more, you get the POCO X3 Pro (review). At least with the POCO X3 Pro, you get the Snapdragon 860 chipset which is leaps and bounds better than the Redmi Note 10S in terms of performance, but the cameras will be about the same as what the Redmi Note 10S has.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S is a compelling phone to buy in the sub-Rs 15,000 price segment. It offers performance gains over the Redmi Note 10, but the camera performance left us asking for more. Then again, it is a solid phone to buy if you are looking for a decent daily driver and you cannot extend your budget by much. It can run apps, games without breaking a sweat and the MIUI 12.5 offers more personalization options than ever. That being said, if you are specifically looking for a phone that can offer great gaming performance and can go through demanding tasks then you can check out its elder sibling, the Redmi Note 10 Pro. The Redmi Note 10S is perfect for those that sit at the intersection of normal use and casual gaming.

Rahul Dravid would have been the greatest Indian batsman, if Sachin Tendulkar didn’t exist. Valtteri Bottas would have won a F1 title, if Lewis Hamilton wasn’t a Mercedes driver. Similarly, the Redmi Note 10S would have been an obvious choice around the Rs 15,000 mark, if the Redmi Note 10 Pro wasn’t launched. For only a few extra bucks, Xiaomi’s Pro smartphone offers a glass back, a more reliable processor, a 120Hz panel, same camera system and a more premium feel. This makes me wonder if the Redmi Note 10S is a good smartphone that probably wasn’t needed! Anyway, if you can push your budget by Rs 1,000-Rs 2,000, you should definitely go for the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Else, the Redmi Note 10S isn’t a bad option either.Live TV.

The Redmi Note 10 (Review) is still great value for money. Xiaomi has introduced a new sibling with a more powerful processor, more RAM, and a higher-resolution primary camera, and called it the Redmi Note 10S. The only surprising thing is that this update was launched a mere two months after the original. The Note 10S is more expensive though, and there's a price difference of Rs. 2,000 between variants of the Redmi Note 10 and the Note 10S with the same amounts of RAM and storage. I did not find the cameras to be a significant enough upgrade to recommend the Redmi Note 10S over the Redmi Note 10. However, for those looking for more performance, the Note 10S does have a slight edge over its sibling.

Available at a starting price of Rs 14,999, the Redmi Note 10S finds its key attractions in its looks, battery and processor. It is a pretty-looking handset, comes backed by a big battery with fast charge support and packs a reliable processor.

We don't see any particular reason to consider this model over the other two. The cheaper Redmi Note 10 is better value for money overall and the Redmi Note 10 Pro offers better features and performance for slightly more money. In that sense, the Redmi Note 10S exists merely to create a decoy effect because there are very few reasons to consider it over the other two. It's a cool marketing trick but hopefully, consumers will be able to see through it.

Redmi Note 10S strikes most boxes when it comes to making a good all-around performing phone. However, its biggest problem is its pricing. Starting at Rs 14,999, the Redmi Note 10S would have covered the gap between the Redmi Note 10 and Note 10 Pro well. However, with the recent price drop for the Redmi Note 10 Pro which now starts at Rs 15,999, the Note 10S almost looks like an unnecessary addition to the series.

Xiaomi has thrived in the affordable segment by offering enticing devices that have swept the competition with their specs and aggressive pricing. Unfortunately, the company’s very own Redmi Note 10 Pro casts a shadow over the Redmi Note 10S and offers a superior 120Hz display, a more premium glass-back chassis, and a better camera stack, all for just Rs 1,000 more. What’s more, the Redmi Note 10S’ Helio G95 SoC leaves a bit to be desired and buyers opting for the Pro variant will undoubtedly benefit with more consistent performance too.

At Rs 14,999, the Redmi Note 10S is placed between the Redmi Note 10 and the Redmi Note Pro. It is a steady performer, but it faces a lot of competition, and unlike many Redmi Note devices, it does not have what can be called a "killer" price.

Apart from the camera, the other big change in the Note 10S is the processor. This smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 SoC. The Redmi Note 10 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 SoC. It'll be interesting to see the kind of performance lead the Redmi Note 10S has over the Redmi Note 10. My review unit was the top-spec variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

ARM Mali-G76 MP4:
