The Poco F3 GT is a triumphant return to the company's winning formula, and is an easy recommendation for smartphone gamers looking for value. From the sheer performance offered by the Dimensity 1200 chipset to the top-notch build quality and useful mechanical triggers, the hardware package delivers the goods. Unless you prioritize image quality, the Poco F3 GT earns an easy recommendation for almost anyone looking for a new mid-range smartphone.

The F3 GT might not be a true successor to the Poco F1 but it is another performance-focused, feature-packed device from Poco. The device packs a lot of gamer-centric features such as physical gaming triggers, a 120Hz AMOLED display, good thermal performance, stereo speakers and 67W fast charging. The camera is the Achilles heel of the Poco F3 GT which shines in all other departments. MIUI 12.5 is a lot cleaner but still prone to a few annoyances from pre-installed apps. The OnePlus Nord 2 might be a better option for those who prefer a better camera experience and don't need things like gaming triggers.

Poco F3 GT comes with a starting price of Rs 26,999 (6GB+128GB). For its price, the handset offers good performance, an impressive display and decent battery life. All these features make Poco F3 GT a good choice for those looking for a gaming phone that is value for money. The phone’s camera does not do much to impress though. Running on MediaTek Dimesnity 1200, the phone’s closest competition is the OnePlus Nord 2 that comes with a price of Rs 29,999 (8GB+128GB).

To wrap up this review, the POCO F3 GT has presented itself as the uncontested value-for-money gaming phone. From its powerful performance, mechanical shoulder buttons, and a couple of standout design practices, if you’re looking for the best gaming phone under INR 30,000, it simply doesn’t get better than this. Plus, it boasts a splendid AMOLED screen, formidable battery endurance, and 67W fast charging. Having said that, the F3 GT still struggles to deliver a respectable camera performance—while its fairly bulky form factor won’t be everyone’s cup of tea either. And here in Nepal, the phone is quite overpriced. Even though POCO Nepal is usually known for its competitive pricing strategies, we’re immensely let down this time. Plus, the company has only brought the maxed-out 8/256GB variant of the phone for now. As a result, the standard POCO F3 makes for a better value—although it lacks all the gaming perks of the F3 GT.

The Xiaomi Poco F3 GT is a new F series phone with more exciting features. When it comes to price, you get a better deal in your life. Where you’re confused enough to get a better smartphone that has all the right features, that’s the end of the search. While the camera might be a little disappointing, if you look at the overall camera specs, it’s a decent choice for any user. The Poco F3 GT is a decent gaming smartphone at a budget price. Available especially in India, it’s not clear whether the brand has plans to roll out the phone globally. Also, you can check our recommendation as an alternative, which is the OnePlus Nord 2 with almost a similar feature.

Poco F3 GT is priced in an aggressively Rs 25K to Rs 30K bracket and shares the same room with the OnePlus Nord 2 5G. Overall, the phone is great for gaming as it has too many gaming features and not to forget the superfast chipset and Maglev Trigger among others. On the other hand, the cameras aren’t that great whereas Nord 2 5G does both the job pretty flamboyantly. Also, F3 GT misses on NFC.

POCO F3 GT features a 5065mAh battery. The 67W fast charger takes the F3 GT from 0 to 50 per cent battery quite quickly. For security, POCO F3 GT has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. POCO F3 GT is embedded with Aerospace grade vapour chamber cooling, which has eight-layered graphite sheets for faster heat dissipation to keep the temperature 2 degree Celsius less compared to phones without this system. Conclusion: Overall, the smartphone looks classy with a beautiful design and tough specifications and is going to impress a lot of Android users in India. The pricing of the device is increasing each week for the coming two weeks as part of a ‘Mad Reverse Pricing’ offer that started on July 26. So it would be better to go for it fast if you wish to own and flaunt the device.

But to revert to the original query – should you be investing in the Poco F3 GT? Well, if you are looking at a terrific phone below Rs 30,000, we definitely think it should make your shortlist and actually come close to topping it even if you are not interested in gaming. While it might have significant gaming features – most notably those pop-up triggers – but to consider it to be only a gaming phone would be like calling the Taj Mahal a nifty tomb. Beneath that sleek and heavily engraved gaming exterior lies a very capable smartphone.

For instance, the recently unveiled OnePlus Nord 2 5G might sway you away with its more capable main camera. Furthermore, the Realme X7 Max 5G offers a better camera setup too, whilst costing the same. Lest I forget, those looking to buy the most affordable gaming phone should automatically default to the POCO X3 Pro – the smartphone will outperform pretty much any Dimensity 1200 SoC device, at least in terms of gaming. Moreover, buyers with a flexible budget can also pick up the iQOO 7, which doesn’t just perform better, but also offers a more capable camera stack.

The F3 GT has a vibrant 120Hz AMOLED screen, incredible internal hardware that ensures lag-free gaming, stereo sound, battery that lasts over a day, and a 67W fast charging. Add maglev gaming triggers and LED lighting at the back, and you get one of the best values in the mid-range segment.

The Poco F3 GT runs MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11 and my unit had the June Android Security patch. The UI is easy to use and I did not have major issues while navigating around. It does come with a number of preinstalled apps, and a few of them did push out spammy notifications. Apart from Google apps, you also have Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, and Xiaomi apps such as Mi Pay, Mi Credit, Themes, and GetApps. With the F3 GT it looks as though Poco wants to use dedicated hardware to target gamers on a budget. The trigger buttons do seem useful, and the Dimensity 1200 SoC has the potential to run heavy titles. So how do these features affect gaming in the real world? Stay tuned to Gadgets 360 to find out in our full review, coming up soon.

Commentaire
ARM Mali-G77 MP9:
