Critiques pour le/la Xiaomi Mi 11X

The Mi 11X retails for Rs. 29,999, a price that’s respectable for the feature set on offer. Even better, Xiaomi’s aggressive promotions often lower its price to below Rs. 25,000 where it enjoys little competition. Other performance-oriented options in this range include the Realme X7 Max (Rs. 26,999) and the OnePlus Nord 2 (Rs. 29,999). While those devices opt for Mediatek’s Dimensity 1200 chip, it’s worth reiterating that the real-world difference is small, if not imperceptible. If you want to keep the Snapdragon 870, you’ll have to extend your budget beyond the Rs. 30,000 threshold for either the Realme GT Neo 2 (Rs. 31,999) or the OnePlus 9R (Rs. 39,999). There’s also the Iqoo 7 from Vivo’s latest sub-brand, but the company’s still a relatively new entrant in the Indian market. All three alternatives feature an optional 256GB storage option and faster charging speeds than the Mi 11X. Those two features aside, the Mi 11X represents fair value considering its inoffensive design and top-notch display and performance characteristics.

The Mi 11X is one of the most powerful devices in the under ₹30,000 price segment and the company has focused on the processing power on this device. This device isn’t going to win any awards in the camera department – Xiaomi has made the distinction between the Mi 11X Pro and the Mi 11X clear in that regard. In terms of longevity, the specs on the Mi 11X should come in useful, especially if you plan to hold on to your next device for a while. While looking at other phones with the same processor, the Mi 11X goes up against the iQOO 7 which is priced a little higher, and the far more expensive Vivo X60, among others. If you want camera performance, you might want to look at the more expensive Mi 11X Pro or the Vivo X60. However, if you want the best performance at the lowest price, the Mi 11X is definitely worth your consideration as an affordable flagship device.

There is a lot to love about the Mi 11x. It is a spectacular phone for the price. Xiaomi has clearly made some changes to its advertising policies and made the overall software experience a lot less annoying. Sound quality from the built-in speakers and the display quality are both deeply impressive. The only area in which it probably falls short is the performance of its camera at night, and that seems like a waste of potential considering how good the camera app is.

With the hardware that is packed, I knew what to expect from the Mi 11X. But most importantly, it has lived upto the expectations, and I must add that nothing is absurdly wrong with the device so far. I would be extensively testing the device putting it through its paces, and take notes like Sheldon. You will get to know all about it in our review.

For the most part, the Xiaomi Mi 11X offers an enjoyable experience for a good price. It feels great in hand, has a high-quality OLED display, zips through the heaviest games and apps, and runs a feature-rich interface. It doesn't offer a perfect camera experience, though, and that might be a deal-breaker for some — the Mi 11X Pro or the iQOO 7 Legend both have better camera setups. The software also has some minor hiccups, but I’d expect those to get better with updates.

From its great hardware to its premium-looking design, and worthy cameras, this mighty device packs a lot and leaves nothing to be desired. In addition to that, the 120 Hz AMOLED display, stunning gaming performance, stereo speakers add to its overall package. The Mi 11X is a great contender in this price bracket (₹29,999 for 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage) and it’s recommended for those who are looking for a phone with the best hardware in its class.

The most intriguing aspect of the Mi 11X series is that the smartphones are priced nearly ₹10,000 (~$135) below the OnePlus 9R and the OnePlus 9 while offering a similar experience, if not the same. Xiaomi has been snapping at OnePlus’ heels since its POCO F1 days. The gap between these two phones is getting so narrow that many existing OnePlus users might switch to Xiaomi to cherish the same features at a much lower price. This is definitely a reason for OnePlus to worry.

Smartphone makers have limited ways in which to make their offerings stand out, and with premium features constantly becoming available at lower and lower prices, there isn't that much room for differentiation at each price level. Xiaomi already has a portfolio stuffed with feature-rich phones across its Mi and Redmi series, plus the recently spun off Poco brand. With the Mi 11X, Xiaomi has chosen to tilt the scales in favour of processor power and overall polish, somewhat sacrificing camera quality in the bargain.

Xiaomi has amassed a ton of experience by launching a plethora of devices in the country. That being said, despite setting its gaze on the premium segment, the company still needed a compelling, mid-range flagship in order to capture the Rs 30-40k price segment. More importantly, while Xiaomi is still discerned as an affordable phone maker in the country, the Mi 11X should ease the company’s transition into the premium space.

The buyers don’t have a very tough decision to make here. If high performance, decent display and battery are your priorities, the Mi 11X makes up for a good smartphone around Rs 30,000. It has a familiar but sophisticated design, an excellent E4 screen and delivers a good performance. The cameras, as I mentioned earlier, are on the weaker side. You can check out the OnePlus 9R, Vivo X60 or even the Mi 11X Pro for better camera performance.

Overall, the Mi 11X is a pretty great offering from Xiaomi. It comes in at a price, which would be the upper bound for a lot of smartphone buyers, and offers a premium smartphone experience that belies the price tag. This makes it one of the best value propositions on the market right now.

Qualcomm Adreno 650:
