Critiques pour le/la Vivo X21

The vivo X21 is a pretty good upper mid-range smartphone and I enjoyed using it. A beautiful and simple design, cool in-display fingerprint sensor, Dual Pixel and AI HDR technology for the camera, respectable specs and a swift battery recharge feature are all good flagship features you usually don't see on a midrange device, making it great for people looking for said features. But then again, the RM2299 price itself is just a bit high considering some of the serious competitors in that price range.

Once again, the vivo X21 seems to us like another strange concoction from BBK. For a device priced very close to the flagships, it doesn't have NFC functionality, the camera lacks OIS, doesn’t do wide angle photography, and doesn’t zoom very well either. It has a slightly smaller battery than its almost identically-specced Oppo sibling, the R15 - which costs S$50 less. And it uses a micro-USB port in 2018.

The Vivo X21's cool underscreen fingerprint reader offers a glimpse into what a future phone can be, but it's not compelling enough to buy for the tech alone.

If you're in the market for a device with an in-display scanner, the X21 is still your best bet. The NEX has a faster scanner, but it's unlikely the phone will make its way outside of China. The X21 has its drawbacks — the lack of USB-C is particularly annoying — but as an overall package it has plenty to offer, if you don't mind the user interface.

The Vivo X21 is a good phone and tries to do something before anyone else does it in the market – reach consumers with a fingerprint sensor under the display. The company also realizes the fact that the fingerprint sensor isn’t the fastest one on the smartphones and tries to compensate that with the Face Unlock feature on the phone.

Vivo X21 offers a great notch display, an innovative fingerprint sensor under the display, latest Android and a beautiful glass design. The cameras are worthy in my opinion, they take one of the best selfies as well as portraits with bokeh effects. While the Vivo X21 has a lot to offer, it would be great if the price was kept under Rs 30,000. But then, there’s the in-display fingerprint scanner that no other phone manufacturer has implemented.

That’s a tough question to answer, simply because the X21 is one of those phones that tries to do something new. There is no doubt that there will be more under-display fingerprint capable phones released in the near future as the tech becomes cheaper and more accessible. The X21 is on the cutting edge, though at this point in time the tech isn’t perfect yet.

The Vivo X21 UD sets the bar higher on what features consumers can expect from a premium mid-range device. It has a large screen with respectable resolution, great performing chipset, large RAM and storage, and good-performing dual-rear cameras. The cherry on top is the Under-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology which is currently a rare feature for smartphones.

The Vivo X21 solely loses out to the mighty OnePlus 6 because of bad pricing.

Overall, Vivo X21 is a great smartphone for its price. It has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is further expandable using a microSD card. X21 also sports a great design and display, though not ideal for one-handed usage. Hardware, camera and battery performance is decent enough as well.

VIVO does really well in offline segment and there OnePlus 6 will not be that easily available, but even if it is, the offline customers are really not interested which one is powerful, which one can shoot better (especially when the difference is minimal), they really don’t care about the hardware but this in-display finger print technology will definitely catch their attention.

The Vivo X21 is priced at Rs. 35,990 and is available exclusively on Flipkart online. The X21 smartphone with under-display fingerprint scanner is a welcome change in tech industry and a critical milestone for the company, that eradicates the need for an extra hardware component in the phone.

The Vivo X21 is the first smartphone with an in-display fingerprint scanner to launch in India. It has decent hardware coupled with Vivo's software, which you might or might not like. The in-display fingerprint scanner works well but isn't in the same league as the physical ones we now have on most smartphones. It is slightly slower to unlock the phone, but not painfully so. This is acceptable considering that the X21 is a first-generation product. On the other hand, opting for a Micro-USB port instead of USB Type-C on a phone priced at Rs 35,990 is a strange move.

To keep the smartphone going, Vivo has dropped in a 3200mAh battery which is non-removable. You get a fast charger rated at 18W in the box, which we hope can top this phone up quickly. We will be putting the Vivo X21 through its paces and will be thoroughly testing the new in-display fingerprint scanner as well as all the usual details including performance, battery life, software, and build quality in our full review, coming up soon.

Many a times we see a lot of companies erring big time when sticking a price tag on their devices. It seems like Vivo has fallen in the same trap as the Vivo X21 would have been a good option if the company would have priced it under Rs 25,000. But with a hefty price tag of Rs 35,990, the smartphone is certainly not a great buy. In our opinion if you want to spend this much then you can either go for the OnePlus 6 or the Samsung Galaxy A8 plus smartphones. Both the smartphones offer better processor and have same or more RAM capacity. However, they don’t come with in-display fingerprint sensor. But other than this, both the smartphones are better when compared to the Vivo X21. A better price point and the Vivo X21 could have been a far better smartphone than it actually is.

Not so long ago, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo showcased their innovation on the Vivo X21 UD, a smartphone that comes with an under display fingerprint scanner. Now the same smartphone has been entered in India as Vivo X21. Vivo X21 (known as Vivo X21 UD in China) is the world’s first smartphone to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Vivo X21 is a device straight out of the future. There's no denying that. Its in-display fingerprint scanner is a technology to marvel, in 2018 when no-one else is doing it (at least not yet), and even though it isn't perfect, the X21 sets the stage for the future. That's saying a lot about Vivo, a company that has for long been called, a cheap iPhone rip-off maker. While it's still blatantly copying the iPhone, phones like the X21 show that, it is also forward-thinking. And in the world of technology, that is all that matters.

The Vivo X21 is a fun device that gets a lot of things right. The display is a joy to look at, performance is solid, and the fingerprint sensor and facial recognition work well. It looks great, and most of the times it works just as well. It’s let down by the software, which lacks polish and attention to detail, and comes with several UI elements that just don’t make sense.

Commentaire
Qualcomm Adreno 512:
