Vivo did a great job with the V5 Plus, but the V5 is certainly the less impressive product in the duo. The recycled design, the low-end chipset, the low-res screen, the mediocre main camera, the average battery life, and the old Funtouch launcher aren't helping the V5's case. And the 20MP selfie camera is just not enough to make up for everything else.

Vivo V5 is a sub 20K smartphone that come in plastic body design. The smartphone still looks premium and offers good performance. The camera quality is good, however could disappoint you a little in low light. The moonlight selfie camera captures good selfies in proper lighting condition; again the low light photography is below average. Battery life is good and the display is also very bright.

Should the Vivo V5 be crowned the new selfie king? Yes. The OPPO F1s and Vivo V5 share a lot of hardware and price tag (Php 12,990), but the V5 edges out the F1s with a slight bump up in RAM and the quality of selfies you can take with the front camera. The question we have to ask though is how long will it remain on the throne? We’ve already heard that Samsung will be releasing its own selfie phone, the C9 Pro, and we doubt that OPPO will take this lying down as well.

Since the V5 is marketed as a camera and music phone, it's only fair to compare it with the F1s. In retrospect, we think the F1s has better camera quality for the main one; whereas the V5 clearly beats the F1s as the new self-proclaimed selfie phone. But other than that, there's nothing really much to say about the rest because of its clunky FunTouch user interface features. The design is alright, the fingerprint sensor is awesome, though, and it's also good enough to play games like Asphalt 8: Airborne.

Coming to the end, the phone wins in the front camera and battery area. Hi-Fi audio is an added advantage. Overall, you can say Vivo V5 is an entry level device with a great selfie camera on board. For its ₹17,980 price, I would suggest you to buy it if you are obsessed with selfies, otherwise, there are other good phones in terms of performance and display quality.

To conclude, the smartphone can be considered as a good bargain at first and the 20-megapixel front-facing camera still tempting deal, but the device fails to give a long-lasting impact. The front camera will disappoint you, performance is satisfactory and battery is good. The device faces a stiff competition from Lenovo Z2 Plus, Oppo F1s and Gionee S6s as each one of them are specced competitively.

Vivo has ticked some important characteristics with the V5 and we can say this might just attract the targeted group as it strikes a good balance between power, features, and price.

The Vivo V5 offers fairly decent build quality, functional performance and acceptable battery life, but its main selling point, the 20MP front camera with Moonlight flash, is a letdown. It is definitely not exceptional, and on overall terms, the smartphone fades in comparison to the likes of Lenovo Z2 Plus, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Moto G4 Plus.

As mentioned throughout my review, the Vivo V5 does come with plenty of compromises, at the cost of a 20MP front-facing camera. But it all seems to have paid off, because at the end of the day, it does click some really impressive selfies. It beats the Oppo F1s and the pricier Oppo F1 Plus when it comes to selfies and image quality, but low light imaging is its sore point. The build quality while being rigid and well constructed still falls short of the Oppo, because the V5 is made of plastic. And then there’s that smudge-happy display.

The Vivo V5 is a step up from its predecessor but fails to strike a decisive blow against the competition. The marque feature of this phone is its 20-megapixel front camera, which seems impressive, but isn't actually ground-breaking in any way. The high megapixel count feels unnecessary, unless you plan on printing A4 size posters of your selfies.

The new Vivo V5 is really great in the imaging department. Both the primary camera and the 20MP selfie-snapper are capable of taking really impressive shots, at least given the price of the smartphone. Other features like premium design, bright display and good sound output make things better as well.

On the software end, V5 has its custom OS Funtouch OS 2.6 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Vivo V5 touts a multi-window feature known as Smart Split 2.0 which works similar to multi-window. You can run two apps side by side. Moreover, the OS has an Eye Protection Mode that filters the Blue light.

If you take out the front camera from the equation (for those who’re still not in on the selfie craze), the Vivo V5 is a tad uninspiring smartphone. In our brief time with the Vivo V5, we noticed no lags or hiccups, and our general experience was seamless. At this price point, the smartphone offers a good camera, a premium look and feel, and decent specifications. Vivo V5 is set to compete with other selfie-centric smartphones in the market such as the Gionee S6s (Review) and the Oppo F1s (Review). Both fall within the same price bracket at Rs. 17,999 and Rs. 17,990 respectively. While the Gionee S6s does have a front flash, the Oppo F1s does not. On paper, the Vivo V5 looks impressive and ready to give them both some tough competition. Pre-orders for the Vivo V5 begin on November 16 and will go on till November 25, after which the device will be available for sale.

It's easy to see the vivo V5 Plus as an iPhone-copying one-trick pony, an expensive one at that. The thing is, it's pretty great at that one trick, and reasonably good at them other tricks. All-in-all the Vivo V5 Plus is a great all-round package that will appeal to those who are serious about their selfies. It packs in the right balance of power, performance, battery life and adds a pretty good camera to the mix, making it a much better offering in comparison to the Asus Zenfone 3 (5.5-inch). It still however, falls short of the OnePlus 3T in some areas like raw power and the primary camera. The Huawei Honor 8 is also pretty good choice, if you are looking for a dual camera set up on the back, but it’s not so impressive in the selfie department. Another competitor in this segment is the Oppo F1 Plus. When it launched in April last year, it was indeed the king of selfie smartphones. But with so many new competitors offering better hardware (including sibling Vivo), the phone has now gotten a bit dated with its MediaTek Helio P10.

I’ll be honest. I came into reviewing this phone with 0 expectations. All my past experience with “selfie” focused smartphones have been pretty underwhelming. The Vivo V5 Plus on the other hand is actually quite a nice experience overall. Chinese smartphone makers have set a precedent for delivering products with solid specifications at highly affordable prices, which is exactly what Vivo has been doing for a while now. So the Vivo V5 Plus, hands down, is a brilliant selfie camera phone. It brings in that elusive BOKEH effects via a dedicated lens while the main front facing lens is co-engineered with Sony and that shows off in the output. If we were to nitpick, it would be the over softening of the images shot in the dark with that moonlight LED option but it’s a really tough condition for any camera to shoot. The primary camera is bit of a letdown when compared to the supremely fantastic front camera. If only Vivo had included OIS or EIS, low light performance and videos would’ve been much better but in most of the other conditions and in keeping the software free of gimmicks, Vivo wins kudos in our books. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with the V5 Plus and hope you did too as you eyeballing the samples we have taken for you.

Overall we are pretty satisfied with the performance of the phone. However, Vivo could have gone for a distinctive design rather than been completely inspired by iPhone. If we talk about pricing, it's on a higher side, as you can get a smartphone from other brands with more or less same specifications at a much lower price. Just to charge insanely for adding up an extra camera in front is not justified. However, those of who are looking to add charm in their life by flaunting good quality selfies, we would recommend that they can go and buy Vivo V5 Plus smartphone bearing Dual front camera without having a second thought.

I would say the Vivo V5 Plus phone is good for who are sick of the iPhone’s boring hardware (looking at the battery), and the blandness of Android devices. Vivo V5 Plus walks a thin line between both, but the problem is that it is little pricey at Rs 27,980. Again considering the Snapdragon 625, processor, people might consider sticking with OnePlus 3 or the Oneplus 3T, as an option, given they are both great devices. But for those want to try something new with their selfies, the Vivo V5 Plus is an option.

The Vivo V5 Plus comes with a price tag at RM1799 in Malaysia. It may be somewhat more expensive than their previous smartphone, but the performance is better with a Snapdragon 625 processor. The selfie camera is simply unbeatable for now on the market. We have yet to see any smartphone front facing camera that could achieve this level of quality. However, in contrast, the rear camera isn't nearly as good as the front camera, so if you really take a lot of selfies, this is the only smartphone you need for now. The Vivo V5s can be seen as an improvement over the Vivo V5. The phone impressed us with its general performance, battery life, and camera quality. The HD display and the fact that it still runs the now-dated Android Marshmallow are our two main complaints. The excessive bloatware was also disappointing. Compared to the Oppo F3 and Gionee A1 (Review) - two of this phone's closest competitors - the Vivo V5s offers better selfies and is also more affordable at its price of Rs. 18,990. If you're not that obsessed with selfies, there are better all-rounders at this price or less.

Vivo has done a great job this time; the V5s is not only a smartphone for selfie lovers, but a regular user will like the device equally. The Moonlight selfie camera on the Vivo V5s is great and the performance is also very swift. Battery life is decent and lasts a day without troubling at all. And at Rs.18,990, we think Vivo V5s is good choice worth considering.

Vivo V5s may not be a good upgrade, in my opinion, it is just 4 months Vivo V5 has launched and if you have bought it, keeping it is advisable. On the flipside, this could be one of the best selfie phones under ₹20,000 price.

Thus we find a few things to like about the vivo V7+, but nothing compelling. The only thing worth taking out your wallet for is... 24-megapixel selfies. The final question, then: does the narcissist in you need such resolving power?

The V7+ has been carefully put together with a specific audience in mind and it simply excels in all its highlight features - screen, performance, camera, even design. If you live in a market where vivo sells, there is not a single reason why you shouldn't give it a serious consideration.

The lower resolution of the display and the overall performance makes Vivo V7 Plus a pricey option. But if you really want better selfies and don’t mind the lower resolution display, Vivo V7 + is not a bad option on the list. Otherwise, the market has plenty of ‘selfie-focused’ options in the market, including from vivo itself.

The Vivo V7 Plus comes with an RRP (recommended retail price) of RM1499 in Malaysia. It may be somewhat more expensive than other similar smartphones, but the 24MP camera selfie image quality is still slightly clearer than the rest on the market. However, in contrast, the rear camera isn't nearly as good as the front camera. The FullView display is great but still required more optimization from third-party apps. Performance is slightly lower than the standard for the price, but for casual mobile gamers it is still acceptable.

The V7+ certainly created a buzz during its announcement and release last month. And that buzz is somewhat warranted as the phone does provide its users with a big screen, great battery life, respectable speakers, and useful features. Although it would’ve been nice if Vivo upped the screen quality as having such low ppi on a screen this big has consequences such as loss of quality and pixelation. The front camera, though great at taking selfies, also has an annoying problem with strong light sources and performs poorly in low-light situations.

And we come to our final verdict, in a nutshell, the phone is the best when it comes to selfies, hands down. Moreover, it’s gorgeous edge-to-edge display, fast fingerprint scanner, face-unlock feature, easy to use interface, and dual apps feature are those things to like about the phone.

Vivo V7 plus is a top notch device with all the premium features in the very affordable price range. Personally, I have liked this device very much because it is fulfilling all the requirements of a normal user in very economical price. It has a 24MP selfie camera which is perfect for camera lovers and the body shape of this smartphone is very slim and sleek. Those customers who don’t want to spend a big amount of money yet they want a good phone, should consider Vivo V7 plus before buying another device.

While we personally believe that smartphones need to be a complete package, Vivo is still pursuing its motto “camera and music” quite single mindedly. The new Vivo V7+ has a good front facing camera and great audio quality, but considering its price, the company could have done a much better job with the performance and battery life.

Selfie phones seem to be in a hurry to come in a flurry. So much so that certain phone makers have shifted their focus heavily on the front cameras of their phones, with every iteration they make. Leading the pack, at least in India, is Vivo, and the V7 Plus is their latest offering, succeeding last year’s V5 Plus (don’t ask us where did the 6 Plus go! We don’t know it either). We gave you our first impressions in the first cut article a while ago, and we were sweetly surprised on how smooth it was in our initial usage – ah and that front camera of course. And now, having done a detailed review, we answer many of the questions we got all this while – does the snappy performance hold up? Is the build quality strong enough? How is the selfie camera compared to other selfie-centric phones? How is the gaming experience? etc. Read on for the answers in this detailed Vivo V7+ Review.

Vivo V7 has a lot to offer for the price tag of Rs 18,999. It comes with a tall display, great cameras with bokeh mode, likable design, and more importantly a battery that lasts for a day. However, the lack of dual back cameras, a Full HD display and fast charging technology might disappoint some as the features have become common in mid-range smartphones these days. There were both good and bad aspects of Vivo V7. If you are looking for a smartphone that has good cameras, smooth performance and a lasting battery, Vivo V7 may be the right choice for you. But at a price of Rs 18,990, we expected a more original design and a better display too. In our experience with the Vivo V7, we found that the front camera does a good job of taking selfies, and the design is familiar but still more manageable compared to the V7+. Battery life is also good, despite the slight reduction in capacity. On the other hand, the competition is pretty fierce, and so a plastic body and HD screen don't really cut it anymore. Vivo’s interface is also starting to feel dated , and it's time the company overhauled it and also made it lighter.

The V7 is a pretty good mid-range smartphone that packs competitive specs like the 5.7-inch FullView display, Snapdragon 450 chipset, 4GB RAM, and 24MP camera. Much like how the rakyat have let their voices be heard, vivo has certainly taken note of the customers' dissatisfaction on the V7. We think the V9 is an improvement, most particularly for its AI Face Beauty, AI HDR, respectable performance from the battery and processor and other said-features in this reviews. Moreover, if you got used to the sliding navigation gestures from the settings, this is probably the closest Android phone with an 'iPhone X' experience.

The Vivo V9 is currently only available in India for Rs. 23,990 (~$360). Despite the iPhone’s influence, it’s a very good midrange smartphone with some great qualities, but it’s also tough to recommend to U.S. buyers. Comparable alternatives like the Honor 7X are not only cheaper, but also sold in the U.S. If you’re able to easily get your hands on a Vivo V9, it isn’t a bad choice. Coming to the verdict, is the Vivo V9 is worth it for all that what it offers? To answer that, what makes Vivo V9 at least better in the segment are the FullScreen notched display and glass design, lightweight, mind-boggling selfies, a dual camera that’s capable of taking portraits, and the Android Oreo out-of-the-box.

I hope it’s clear why I earlier mentioned the V9 fails to yield that X factor the company was hoping it would. That being said, the two features Vivo is primarily boasting about — the screen and the selfie camera do work as advertised. But the rest, unfortunately, falters. The rear camera is inconsistent, the software is in a desperate need of an overhaul, the performance is middling… you get the idea. At Rs 22,999, I certainly can not recommend the Vivo V9 to everyone but if you’re someone who strictly prioritizes selfies and a unique design, you can consider it. Although I would suggest taking a look at Motorola’s Moto X4 or even the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Pro, both of which are significantly more well-balanced phones.

Frankly, the Vivo V9 is a hard smartphone to judge. It lives up the selfie promise, has an impressive display and the 19:9 aspect ratio also is extremely handy. AI is more of a buzzword as the real impact of it can hardly be noticed. Priced at Rs 22,999, it’s not a budget smartphone. What lets it down is the mid-range specs and the software experience. With a flagship device you expect top-notch specifications which the Vivo V9 lacks. Yet, it’s a smartphone that delivers performance which most users will find it more than acceptable. It’s biggest competitor will be the recently launched Oppo F7 as that too is a selfie centric device. In the battle of selfies, Vivo might have a winner on its hands. Overall as a smartphone one can’t help but feel that the V9 could’ve been a much better device.

The Vivo V9, at Rs 22,990, is all about the style. That's not to say that it's lacking on substance. The V9 looks good, has a neat display, metes out good performance and has capable camera credentials. Having said that, there's still room for improvement here. It could have done with a sturdier build. It could have done with some more power under the hood. And it could have done with a bigger battery while at it.

With the V9, Vivo has managed to ship the first Android phone with a notch in India - for whatever that's worth. It has decent hardware, and the software has lots of customisations. The display helps it stand out from the rest, and those wanting to show off a phone with a notch now have this option at a price that's certainly a lot more affordable than the iPhone X.

So it's finally here, the vivo V9 was unveiled and believe it or not, it's actually Malaysia's first device with a 19:9 screen-to-body aspect ratio to be sold commercially for RM1399. As premium as it looks, this device is actually a mid-range tier with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626, 4GB + 64GB memory capacity, a 6.3-inch display in Full HD+ resolution, 3260mAh battery, a dual rear camera (16MP + 5MP), a mega 24MP front camera, and multiple A.I. features pre-installed inside. Here's our first impression of the phone in the hands-on video below.

As far as the design is concerned, it definitely gets attention, the FullView display looks amazing and its glass body sets it apart from the competition. Android Oreo ensures that it has all the latest updates and patches. The camera took decent shots, the AI Bokeh mode enables you to add the blur effect in the background while the selfies turn out to be similar to that of Vivo V7.

Besides the software enhancements, the V9 boasts of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, which puts this phone in the midrange bracket. Pricing has not been revealed, but you'll likely be able to buy this in China. Given that my hands-on unit sports Hong Kong localization and a retail sticker from the Philippines, it's likely the V9 will head to other markets in the region pretty soon.

The vivo V11 actually has plenty of merits, thanks to the beautiful design, multiple AI functions, durable battery and great camera performance (except the AI Low Light Mode which doesn't help much). However, right now there are A LOT of camera-centric mid-range smartphones around in Malaysia and all of them are priced quite competitively against the RM1699 V11.

The Vivo V11 handset is an exciting handset from a “large display phone” perspective. It delivers a stunning display in a thin-and-light form-factor, which is a priority for many users. The AMOLED display is great, and includes an in-screen fingerprint reader, which still reserved for a tiny club of smartphones. These are very compelling positive points.

The Vivo V11 Pro is a gorgeous phone. Of all its pros and cons, the phone’s design is what will be its biggest selling point. Beyond that though, performance is pretty solid and though it won’t appeal to the gamers in the crowd, most people will find it good enough for every day use. Battery life lasts a solid work day without any issues and the phone supports rapid charging that can top off your phone to 50% in under 30 minutes. The camera is not bad at all and produces images that are contrasty and just slightly over saturated to make them more visually appealing.

Vivo V11 Pro tries its best to deliver everything a casual user seeks in a mid-range sub-Rs 30,000 smartphone. For the most part it stays successful but then it also has some competitors in place that have better set of specs on paper. But unlike them, the smartphone has a big battery, impressive AMOLED screen, a competitive camera and way better design. Although the specs are not so premium, it will really feel so when you start using it. There’s hardly any downside if you look at it except for the competitors. The only aspect that gets a mixed reaction is the FunTouch OS UI and the decent Qualcomm processor. In case those are deal breakers for you, then you may probably want to stumble upon the next best option - Asus Zenfone 5Z.

The Vivo V11 Pro is a solid all-rounder at Rs. 25,990 and offers better value than the Oppo F9 Pro (Review), but for a bit more money. Think of it as a Vivo X21 with a bigger battery and better front camera, but at a much more reasonable price, which is a good recipe. Obviously, it’s hard to ignore the Poco F1 (Review) at this price level, but getting your hands on one is likely to be difficult for a while, whereas the V11 Pro should have better online and offline availability. Then there’s the Nokia 7 Plus (Review) — a phone that has very similar specifications as the V11 Pro, but with the allure of stock Android One and much better construction quality.

The Vivo V11 Pro doesn’t feel like a drastic upgrade over the V9, which is understandable considering that the V9 launched merely six months ago. We appreciate the upgraded SoC and subtle design changes including the smaller notch, the new colour and the in-display fingerprint sensor. We’re yet to see what the cameras are truly capable of, and the larger battery should offer better standby time compared to the Vivo V9. As for the competition, the V11 Pro has phones such as the Poco F1 (Review) and Oppo F9 Pro to contend with, which should make things interesting for buyers.

I’m not saying mid-range phones don’t deserve flagship features, but if the attempt falls short, I for one would prefer the basics done well with no extra gimmicks at all. Vivo has priced the V9 Pro better than some of its other offerings, including the Vivo V9. The Vivo V9 Pro has a more powerful processor and more RAM compared to the previous model. Unfortunately, in order to keep costs low, it opted for different camera sensors, but thankfully this has not had much effect on photo quality. Priced at Rs. 17,990, the Vivo V9 Pro is actually less expensive than the Vivo V9 (Review), which is still listed at Rs. 18,990. That makes it easy to recommend the new model over the older one.

Really, it's only its software that keeps the V15 Pro from true greatness. Funtouch OS needs a complete rethink. Samsung’s new One UI is clean and elegant, MIUI and Huawei’s EMUI have both gained more coherent design over the years, and even Oppo's own ColorOS now looks less cluttered. The V15 Pro is much better armed than its predecessors on the hardware front, but when it comes to software, we shouldn't have to endure something like Funtouch OS on upper mid-range devices in 2019 - and especially not when an increasing number of more polished Android skins are holding their own against the iPhone.

The V15 Pro reflects the unstinting progress of Chinese engineering and, in particular, that of parent company BBK, also the owner of the Oppo and OnePlus brands. If you are a photography enthusiast, the V15 Pro is a decent mid-range option with a long-lasting battery. So there’s no need to worry about the battery running out while taking photos outside. The tech specs are also great for general use with reasonably good gaming performance. On the other hand, the HONOR View 20 is another pretty good choice and retails for RM1999. It does not come with a wide angle lens and a pop-up camera., though, and another alternative is the Huawei Nova 4, priced at RM1899. Generally speaking, the Vivo V15 Pro is a good phone, especially for its asking price. It does many things well; The UI is smooth, the battery life is decent, and the camera is pretty impressive. You get a marginal improvement if you shoot with the 48MP mode, at the cost of higher space usage.

vivo brings its notch-free, all-screen concept to the mid-range line with the V15 Pro. Like the more expensive NEX, the V15 Pro sports a pop-up selfie camera to completely eliminate the notch. Paired with skinny bezels, the V15 Pro manages to achieve a 91.64% screen-to-body-ratio. But with a rather steep Php 23,999 asking, the V15 Pro is significantly more than its competitors. It does have powerful internals, a bigger battery, a triple rear camera setup, and their latest in-display fingerprint scanner tech, but will that be enough to sway consumers?

Unlike other midrange smartphones in the market today under the same price point, Vivo V15 Pro really stands out. The camera technology makes it different having able to capture more details and HDR photos, thanks to its 48MP primary camera. However, Vivo needs to consider the use of the USB Type-C port that could have placed this device on top even better. At the back, even under the midrange category, Vivo should have considered using the back-glass design to make it look more stunning. Overall, Vivo V15 Pro will truly give you a flagship-like smartphone experience. So far, Vivo has able to amaze us considering its generous price that is affordable yet very reliable.

No-notch Super AMOLED screen with in-display fingerprint scanner and pop-up camera is definitely a trend for this year since a lot of companies have started adopting a similar design at more competitive pricing. Lack water or splash resistance and a glass body are a definite miss, but an attractive design, good cameras and smooth performance with Snapdragon 675 and 6GB of RAM are impressive. However, you have to manage the custom UI and live with the micro USB port.

If style matters to you, the Vivo V15 Pro offers a lot of style. In addition it also offers a great display and above average cameras. That could be worth Rs 28,990, but not to everyone. If the price would have been somewhat lower, and software along with performance a bit more polished, I would have found it easier to recommend it to everyone. For now, it is a good option for some users but not for everyone.

The Vivo V15 Pro left me quite impressed with its fast performance, good battery back up and of course, with the quality of photos. Priced at Rs 28,990, the V15 Pro might seem a little expensive owing to its Snapdragon 845 processor, which can be available for a much lower price. But, overall, the phone doesn’t disappoint on what it claims to offer.

Vivo V15 Pro seems to be a device to watch out. The smartphone features premium design and the display look great in our opinion. The combination of the triple-camera setup at the rear and the 32-megapixel pop-up selfie camera is the major selling point of this device. The battery seems to be good, though we need to perform a couple of tests to give our final verdict. As for the competition is concerned, the smartphone will face a tough competition with the likes of Asus Zenfone 5Z, Nokia 8.1, Xiaomi Poco F1 and more.

In a bold move, Vivo's introducing its newest flagship, the Vivo V15 Pro just hours before Samsung will officially unveil its highly anticipated Galaxy S10. Based in China, Vivo is hoping to one-up the Korean giant, and from where I stand, there's a chance it'll actually do it, maybe not in sales, but in terms of making a more covetable phone with some standout features.

There's no two ways about it - the vivo V15 Pro is an impressive phone and easily one of the most exciting mid-rangers in recent times. The full screen front, the large sensor selfie camera on a motorized slider and the excellent 48MP main camera are all features worthy of a flagship.

Although the V15 is looked upon as a toned-down version of the V15 Pro, it is powerful enough to meet the demands of a wide variety of users. It’s got a large screen with Gorilla Glass 5, above average RAM and storage capacity, triple rear cameras, an elevating front camera, and a large battery capacity. If you want the V15 Pro but can’t afford the PHP 23,999 price tag, I think you’ll still be happy getting the V15 for a lower PHP 17,999.

The Vivo V15 is a stylish phone with a lot of goodness inside it. But it has some issues as well. It is a good all-rounder phone with good looks, great battery life, decent performance, fast and smooth pop-up camera, decent camera performance on front and back, and bright display. But compared to the high-end Pro version -- Vivo V15 Pro -- the V15 lacks quite a bit. Overall if you are not too demanding from your phone, and want a device with good screen, a nice pop-up selfie camera and attractive design, the V15 will satisfy you. But, if you're a power user there are better options in the market at this price point.

The Vivo V15 impressed us with its long battery life, beautiful design, solid build quality, and a capable front camera. However, it has its fair share of shortcomings too. It is still stuck with a Micro-USB port, can't stream HD videos from services like Netflix, and its UI needs some refinement. Moreover, low-light photography is sub-par for a phone at this price.

Despite sporting a sizeable display notch and a slightly higher price tag (Rs 26,999), I would recommend the Nokia 8.1 over both of them when it comes to the build quality, gaming performance, the camera and those important and timely software updates. The Vivo V15 is a great mid-range phone for selfies, but it falls a bit too short of being an all-rounder.

Barely half a year after the launch of their V15 Pro, and Vivo has launched the next model in their V series – the V17 Pro. Like the V15 Pro, this will again be powered by the Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Sadly, however, there will be no support for storage expansion via microSD. That said, the phone does support dual Nano SIMs.

Just like many other vivo and Oppo phones, the maker is charging somewhat of a premium for the V17 Pro. As a camera phone, the Vivo V17 Pro packs in some good hardware, but the software still needs a bit of polish. Accessing certain basic functions can be a multi-step process, when it shouldn't be. If you love taking selfies, the dual front cameras offer plenty of creative freedom, especially with features such as the posing guides. Low-light video is one area which needs a lot of work, as apart from the below-average image quality, the drop in framerate is quite jarring.

Even though it’s well priced and has six versatile cameras, the Vivo V17 Pro is very much geared towards the Chinese market. However, unless you really need that second selfie sensor or you really don’t like its admittedly quite garish design, the Redmi K20 Pro has the V17 Pro beat in every single department and still leaves you with some extra cash in your pocket. Unfortunately, Vivo has dropped the ball at a time when mid-range phones are better than they’ve ever been. Here’s hoping the next V-series isn’t just a one-trick camera phone.

The Vivo V17 Pro comes with a bigger battery, an improved design, a new pop-up module, and a Type-C port. However, it still retains the same screen, chipset, and software experience as the V15 Pro. Most mid-range smartphones these days have the Snapdragon 700 series as their chipset, while the V17 Pro is stuck with a Snapdragon 675. If you own a V15 Pro, there’s not much reason to upgrade to the V17 Pro aside from the cameras.

The Vivo V17 Pro has a lot going for it: good design and display, impressive cameras and long-lasting battery life. However, despite having the bells and whistles in the camera, the Vivo V17 Pro will be a hard sell for the company. Why? Because it packs in an older processor which manages to deliver but when you compare the OnePlus 7 that is available at Rs 3,000 more or the Redmi K20 Pro, it’s not up to the mark. Well, it depends. While the processor could have been from the Snapdragon 700 series, the hardware specs are adequate along with the battery life. An impressive display and camera make it a good package. Priced at Rs. 22,999/-, you could also look at some of the phones which carry similar specs for substantially lesser prices. At the price of Rs 22,990, Vivo V17 is an overpriced smartphone that offers mediocre processor and an array of above-average cameras. All of which can be found on any other similar priced smartphone in the market today, except maybe the camera. It seems that Vivo is just trying to keep the V-series smartphone lineup alive by launching this phone. The smartphone does most of the things right such as day-to-day tasks, offers a good design which more or less premium despite it has a plastic build. But it just feels like a smartphone from the past, perhaps from 2018. You will find better phones at this price point as this one just gets the job done.

Vivo's V19 smartphone meets the requirements to be a good mid-range device for 2020. It has respectable performance, a pretty display, functional cameras, and compatibility with expandable storage and even a 3.5mm audio jack. Where it excels further is the insanely long battery uptime, fast-charging capability, and smooth user experience in day-to-day use. A nice, fast phone that doesn't conk out after a bout of TikTok videos? Sign me up.

At the price, the V19 comes at we wished Vivo offered a better processor but none the less it has a great camera, the phone is sleek, the design is good, and it offers a full day of battery life. If you’re a diehard Vivo fan you can consider buying this! But, if you’re looking for something better at this price point then you consider these options:

The Vivo V19 is an expensive smartphone with decent design, capable performance and satisfactory optics. The phone is a good option if you desist bulky phones with the usual gradient design. However, there are smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro, Realme X3, etc. that offer better value with regard to features, design and specifications.

Vivo’s V-series is well-known for its cameras, but as for the V19, it seems like they’re now considering more internal aspects that matter to a lot of users. It may have a year-old Snapdragon 712 chip but it still provides a smooth multitasking experience. The battery life is amazing and of course, the cameras are loaded with useful features.

Vivo V19 checks most boxes right for features and specs that a 2020 smartphone should have. It looks premium, comes with a good and bright display, is backed by a big 4500mAh battery and packs a powerful camera setup that delivers stunning photos in both daylight as well as lowlight conditions. But, processor does remain an issue if one looks at price-to-specs ratio.

But, like any other Vivo V-series phones, the Vivo V19 will mostly target the offline customers for whom what matter in a smartphone are the look, camera, and the battery. And these areas are certainly well covered by the Vivo V19. No doubt, the better processor would have been ideal for improving its saleability but Vivo understands the offline market better than its competitors.

If you are a diehard Vivo fan, the V19 is a great option to consider given the number of improvements it has brought in compared to the predecessor. The phone is sleek, captures stunning pictures in most situations — macro and lowlight could have been better — and offers one full day of battery life. However, given the price of the phone, I wish Vivo at least opted for the Snapdragon 730 processor if not the 800 series. If your budget is low and preferences are high such as flagship-level processor, 64MP quad rear camera and more there are other options available in the market from Realme, Redmi, and Samsung.

The V19 is a typical Vivo phone, one that has its share of frustrating flaws that are quite intelligently masked by the company. The phone isn't the most powerful performer out there, with the presence of the Snapdragon 712 -- an upper budget segment SoC -- at its heart proving to be the biggest reason to make a case against the V19.

The Vivo V19 doesn't have a very powerful processor considering its asking price, and that might be the deal-breaker for potential buyers. The Snapdragon 712 SoC is nowhere near the fastest, but if you look beyond that, the Vivo V19 does pack in good cameras and a big battery. The display is vivid and the in-display fingerprint scanner is quick.

Moving to the verdict, vivo has come up with a smartphone packed with great features, the midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC, 48 MP quad cameras, and dual selfie cameras which competes the OPPO Reno3 Pro in its class. vivo has managed to offer a new version of FunTouch OS i.e. 10 and it looks great & performs better, however, the remains of bloatware are still in it. vivo V19 has a comprehensive overall package which includes the great cameras, the cameras perform really well, however, the price is slightly on the higher side as far as the specs are concerned.

Vivo V19 comes in Sleek Silver and Gleam Black colour options and is priced at Rs. 27,990 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and Rs. 31,990 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The Vivo V19 is a pretty good upgrade to the Vivo V17 with a great display, battery life and a very good set of cameras. But at the same time, I’m surprised that why the company didn’t pack a much powerful SoC like the Snapdragon 730G or the Snapdragon 720G, considering the asking price. For instance, Vivo’s Z1X and Z1Pro pack the same Snapdragon 712 SoC, but at a much lower price. Having said that, the V Series are generally targeted towards offline buyers and gets the basics right, I would say. If you are a power-user or want a better gaming experience, you might want to check out the alternatives as well before going ahead with the purchase.

Vivo V19 Neo has a straightforward and simple functionality. We didn’t experience any stutters on social media and other apps while navigating through the UI, the camera is impressive especially in low light. The performance is great and impressive as well. Vivo V19 Neo is priced at P17,990 for 8GB/128GB. Is it overpriced? For me, no, I’m impressed especially when I saw the performance gap in Honkai Impact 3. The chipset isn’t new but optimized. It lacks some features on its native camera app but it still gives feel and comfortability. A simple, powerful, and plain yet premium feel smartphone that definitely worth the price.

The Vivo Neo V19 is powered with a 2018 chipset and unfortunately, some people say it is overpriced because of the outdated chipset. So we tried everything, Camera Test (Daylight and Night-Time), Game Test, Endurance, Charging, and more. So the question is, does it have the potential for its price?

While the V19 Neo stands out among most mid-range phones with its AMOLED punch-hole display and a fast in-display fingerprint scanner, it will face very tough competition because of its processor of choice. The Snapdragon 675 is almost two years old, and most mid-rangers nowadays are using Snapdragon 7-series processor, with the Snapdragon 730 and 720G being popular picks.

The Vivo V19 Neo may be under the shadow of the higher V19, but it is good enough to meet the demands of a wide variety of users. You get an impressive Super AMOLED display, a stylish design, a sizable battery, decent performance, and cameras that surely don’t disappoint your social media demands.

Commentaire
Vivo:
