Critiques pour le/la Samsung NC10
It doesn't always have to be an Eee… There's no question, the Eee 1000H from Asus can convince in many ways and sets the staff for its competitors very high. But, one of the hottest candidates to debase the Eee is the Samsung NC20 netbook. It offers an equally convincing mobility with the same built in hardware and what's more - a very chic appearance. In this regard, the NC10 can even top the Eee.

At first, the Samsung NC10 netbook might seem a bit expensive. Most of the extra money probably pays for the 6-cell battery, and 6.5 hours of battery life is definitely worth it. To compare, an MSI Wind with a 6-cell battery costs you at least $50 more, and still won’t run for as long. The netbook also has a bigger keyboard than most others out there, leaving netbook keyboard critics little to complain about. We also love that Samsung threw in some minor but extremely appreciated bonuses: a great webcam, a third USB port, and multi-touch capability. The small trackpad probably can’t take full advantage of the multi-touch, but it’s a minor flaw.

A standard netbook with a pretty conventional design, Samsung's NC10 won't turn many heads, but its crowning feature is built-in 3G wireless broadband. Partnered with Optus, the Samsung NC10 becomes a handy road-warrior — if you can live with the tiny touchpad.
Samsung's NC10 isn't the most attractive netbook on the market, but it's built in 3G wireless broadband capabilities and above average battery life makes it a good road warrior.Critique simple, disponibles en ligne, De taille moyenne, Date: 09/24/2009

Obviously, a near-7-hour battery life is important for long-haul trips, but if you're spending half that time wondering whether you'll break the mouse button, you might be a little down on this netbook. That said, the NC10 gets more than enough right to make it a worthy option. My advice: Take a look at the N110. It costs only $30 more, it improves on the biggest complaint I've lodged here, and it has a longer battery life. Tough call.

When we visited Samsung's Korean HQ, the company assured us it wasn't working on a netbook, and wasn't particularly interested in the market. Fast-forward a few months and it's not only made a netbook but it's made one that's among the finest on the market -- obviously someone was paying attention. The NC10 is available to buy now from all good outlets for around £320. The Samsung NC10 is definitely one of the better netbooks on the market. It's fantastically well designed, easy to use, has great battery life and is affordable. The Eee PC 1000HE can last longer away from the mains, but the NC10 is definitely not a machine to be sniffed at.

So, has the Samsung NC10 been worth waiting for? Clearly the answer is yes. While it does nothing new, it takes all the proven good points of other devices, tightens them up and delivers an excellent package at a great price. It'll be interesting to see how other companies respond but for the time being, Samsung has set the benchmark for 10-inch Netbooks and set it high.

Samsung's NC10 was the king of battery life in the netbook market until ASUS released their new Eee 1000HE. It still has incredible battery life for a netbook that can easily allow one to run for upwards of seven hours before needing to charge it. The keybaord is also 93-percent the size of a full laptop keyboard making it a joy to work on. The trackpad on the other hand is quite small and difficult to use due to the lack of a definitive edge.

The NC10 is Samsung's take on the Small, Cheap Computer but unlike many 'me too' netbook competitors, the South Korean giant has clearly put a bit of thought into differentiating its offering from the other Eee-alternatives out there. Perhaps the most distinctive thing about the NC10 is its keyboard. Samsung has managed to cram in impressively large-sized keys, so unlike some models it doesn't take that long to get up to a decent typing speed. The Acer Aspire One has a great keyboard but poor battery life. The Asus Eee PC 1000 has a great runtime but a just-too-small keyboard. Anyone who's waited for netbook makers to combine the best of these two leading mini-laptops into a single product have had their prayers answered, by Samsung with its NC10. All hail the new netbook champ.

As fantastic as the Samsung NC10 sounds it’s not all plus points. The touchpad is a touch on the short side, making internet browsing a little trickier than it could have been. It does come packed with a fairly hefty amount of Samsung related bloatware too. All of which can be easily removed, but it makes that first hour of use not quite as fun as you’d have hoped. There is no 3G modem either, a feature now more prominent on netbooks, but not a surprising omission when this device was launched last year. As far as netbooks currently on the market go, there’s no doubt that the Samsung NC10 is among the best currently on offer. At its competitive price point, and with all it has to offer, anyone after a portable internet and word processing device should give this one a really good look.

The Samsung NC10-14GB is a well-equipped netbook whose trimmings include a standard six-cell battery, but we'd like to see its price adjusted down to MSI's and Acer's level.

With Samsung's recent entry into the U.S. market, it certainly makes sense for the company to include an example of the hottest thing in laptops right now--the humble Netbook.

Having just launched its notebook line in the United States this past October, Samsung might be a new name on these shores when it comes to portables, but the company is not new to designing and manufacturing laptops. The Samsung NC10 corrects a lot of the shortcomings of earlier netbooks and keeps the price reasonable, too.

Samsung's netbook offering may tick nearly all the same boxes as the MSI Wind, but its keen pricing and remarkable mains-free longevity make it a worthy addition to the line. The Samsung NC10 may be marginally larger, heavier and lack 802.11n but this could be the new champion of the breed.

It might be late to the party, but Samsung has clearly listened to users and learned from the competition, thus producing a supremely balanced proposition. Attractive design and reassuring build quality are married to a great keyboard and superb battery and if one or two things, like the token slip case, could be improved upon, all is forgotten when you look at the price. Unless integrated HSDPA is high on your agenda, you can buy an NC10 with great confidence. In its class: it is the best.

There really isn't a chink in the NC10's armour. Some might bemoan the lack of an SSD, but to our minds the capacious 160GB drive is more than ample. There is always the option of using the SDHC-compatible card reader if you need critical documents to be kept safe on a more shock proof medium. Connectivity, too, is on song. Three USB ports nestle up against a VGA output and a 10/100 Ethernet socket, and while the Atheros wireless chipset lacks Draft-N, the ever handy presence of Bluetooth softens the blow.

Until now, no other netbook has been able to match the 10-inch MSI Wind’s endurance, strong performance, and spacious keyboard. Samsung’s NC10 is the only product that provides comparable—and even improved—features for a lower price. Its comfortable, well-positioned keyboard, speedy and spacious hard drive, and more than 6 hours of endurance make the $499 Samsung NC10 the most well-rounded 10-inch netbook on the market. While the $549 MSI Wind (with a six-cell battery) is an excellent choice, it will cost you $50 more. Those willing to sacrifice some touchpad room will find the Samsung NC10 to be a great mobile companion.
