Selecting the pill up by the display usually detaches the underside a part of the keyboard (fortunately the again, the place there are extra magnets, stays secured). The top of the display cowl also needs to be magnetic, and will flip off the display when closed. It doesn’t – as a substitute, it might flap open should you’re not cautious.

But it feels like Samsung is pushing the limits of Android on a tablet too far here. The software is unfinished and the multitasking capabilities are buggy and limited. I can forgive Android apps lacking the polish of their iOS counterparts when I’m paying £300 or less for a tablet, but when this is the same price as an iPad Pro, it’s harder to stomach.

The Tab S3 is a tablet and stylus combo that wants to satisfy all your needs, from entertainment to sketching and writing notes. When used for simple notes and sketching, the S Pen is generally great. Our only major grips are around the difference in responsiveness of the S Pen in various apps, the lack of bass and that the touch-sensitive button that opens the app switcher is irritatingly easy to knock. But overall, the Galaxy Tab S3 is an excellent tablet that really looks the part. It's a worthy competitor to the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, one of our best tablets.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is indeed the best premium tablet in the Android platform as of now, giving a tough competition to its arch rival Apple’s iPad. This slate has an amazing build quality, good overall performance, decent camera and much improved S-Pen. But on the other side, its pricing is a huge let down as it costs you a bomb, in addition you have to purchase the Keyboard Cover at Rs. 8499. Overall performance is good, but it is hard to recommend it considering the price. If it was priced 10 to 15K lesser, then it would have been bang for the buck.

The only worthy competitor of the Galaxy Tab S3 is the recently-launched iPad Pro 10.5-inch. But you will have to fork out more cash and deal with a completely different operating system. Samsung surely has given its best shot in the Android tablet market with the Galaxy Tab 3. We really don't see any other brand coming close it, at least not in the next few months.

The Galaxy Tab S3 is no doubt a great entertainment device. It get many things right, especially when it comes to consuming content. For example, the 9.7-inch display is simply the best I’ve ever seen on a tablet. I also really like the implementation of the S Pen; and yes, it comes in the box, so you won’t have to pay extra to get it. The overall performance and the quality of sound from the quad speakers is okay, if not the best.

Lenovo’s solution isn’t any bulkier than a traditional tablet nor is it any more difficult to use in the same way as a traditional tablet. It is, however, a lot more practical than a traditional tablet because it comes with a fully functional keyboard attached and it has the ability to run full Windows 10. I firmly believe that that is the future for the tablet and that makes it very hard for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 to be anything more than a reminder of the past.

All-in-all, if you’re looking to replace your everyday computer for tasks such as word processing and the like, the Galaxy Tab S3 will be just fine. To sum up, the Galaxy Tab S3 is trendy, slim and powerful and has a lot to offer and on papers, it sure looks promising. The tablet comes loaded with some premium design coupled with a compact look, though the specifications are pretty much standard across this price range. So if you are planning to buy a tablet/hybrid tablet for a long time, this could be the tablet for yours. But do remember you have to spend some extra bucks for its keypad cover.

The Galaxy Tab S3 has proven itself to be a powerful tablet for work and play. If you like watching videos on-the-go or at the comforts of your home, this device won’t disappoint. The S Pen feature is also a strong point but you’ll have to be a digital artist or someone who regularly takes handwritten notes to fully take advantage of its features. It can also turn into a sort of substitute for a laptop using the pogo keyboard cover. However, it’s not included in the package and is sold separately.

If you invest yourself and spend the time needed, you could probably solve the tablet riddle in regard to your own life. If you want a 10″ Android tablet, this is the best option currently out there. It’s not perfect, though. It’s expensive, its physical and capacitive keys are awkward, and it’s loaded with too many Samsung apps, but aside from that, it’s a solid choice.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is an excellent device for 2K resolution gaming, movie watching and exploring the full S-Pen experience. At RM2999 it is priced equal compared to other tablets within this range but getting the RM499 keyboard cover makes it all a bit pricey. Especially since you can get the less powerful Microsoft Surface Pro 4 for about the same price tag or lower. However, if you’re an Android and S-Pen stylus fan, then the Galaxy Tab S3 is the better choice.

Samsung designed the Galaxy Tab S3 to be a premium, high-end Android tablet with plenty of bells and whistles. As one might expect, these features do come at a price. More important to potential buyers is the front-facing camera for video chats. Here, Samsung has gone with an adequate 5MP camera with a f/2.2 aperture. As expected, its low-light performance leave something to be desired – just don’t log in to video conference meetings from dim restaurants. What we do like is that the Tab S3 borrows the improved camera interface of the recalled Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Flipping between the two cameras is done with a swipe up or down directly on the screen (much better than trying to find the tiny camera switch button). Menus are one swipe to the left, and effects are one swipe to the right.

After spending the past few weeks with Samsung’s latest tablet I have grown to using it more. Based on its portability, decent battery life and quick charging. Display is still some of the best out there but would love to see HDR supported by apps to really push its full potential. Optional keyboard is nice for doing work but can be crammed for some and also doesn’t magnetically close. Included S-Pen is a nice touch and awesome to use but wish it had a built-in slot or magnet for the Tab S3 . The Galaxy Tab S3 is realistically a great media consumption powerhouse and is great for viewing content. One plus over say the iPad Pro or even Pixel C is that the Tab S3 has expandable storage pushing it to 256GB. That’s a lot of movies. That $600 price tag is a bit hard to swallow though.

The Galaxy Tab S3 has a promising list of features, including its HDR-friendly screen, quad-speaker array, included S Pen and powerful processor. And they mostly work as touted. Its colorful and sharp display, coupled with loud audio, makes for satisfying multimedia consumption. It’s also a responsive machine, thanks to its Snapdragon 820 chipset, and lasts more than 11 hours on a charge. The new S Pen enables smooth drawing, thanks to its finer nib and improved pressure sensitivity. But the Tab S3 and its companion keyboard, which costs an extra $130, aren’t good enough for intensive typing and multitasking. If you can stomach the $600 price and don’t need to do serious work on the Tab S3, you’ll find it satisfying.

That all leaves the Tab S3 in a pretty awkward position. It’s a good tablet, but the iPad Pro is a slightly better one, particularly thanks to its app ecosystem. And while the Tab S3 is a decent little laptop replacement, it’s nearly twice the price of Chromebook — say, this one made by Samsung — that can do all the same things while being more comfortable to type on.

The high price of the S3 also puts it head-to-head with some excellent Windows offerings that have the advantage of running full desktop productivity software. However, if you aren’t budget-conscious and are set on Android, the stunning screen and integrated stylus functionality may be worth the extra money. Personally, I’m really torn. I rely heavily on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), and would love to update it to something that ran a modern OS and had better performance. But it works okay, stores its S Pen internally, and is long since paid for. So shelling out $600+ to get a new version that isn’t perfect still seems like a stretch. For those ready to spring for the Tab S3, it’s expected to be available starting March 24th.

We're happy to see Samsung launch a new high-end Android tablet. Apart from Google's Pixel C (which launched near the end of 2015), the market has been dominated of late by midrange and low-end models that, while they can be good values and perform fine, don't bring a whole lot in the way of excitement or innovation. And while Apple's iPad Pro is nice, those looking for a productivity-focused Android alternative should have options with fresh hardware and features.

The Galaxy Tab S3 marks a crossroad for Samsung, since the tablet landscape has shifted significantly over the last few years. When you also look at what it has to compete against nowadays, it can potentially be overlooked – due to the kind of value it brings to the table with its cost. Apple’s iPad Pro is still widely regarded as the king in the tablet market, but Samsung manages to undercut its rival with the Tab S3’s starting price of $600 with 32 GB of internal storage, which of course can be supplemented with a microSD card. And that price includes the S Pen! Whereas with the iPad Pro, it’s an additional $100 for the Apple Pencil. So when it comes to price, Samsung definitely has the advantage.

No other Android tablet has the Galaxy Tab S3's specs. But no other Android tablet (except for the occasional Sony slate) has the Galaxy Tab S3's price. At $599.99 (or $729.99 with the keyboard), the Tab S3 competes with not only the iPad Pro, but with Windows detachables like the Lenovo Miix 510 and the Acer Switch Alpha 12, and that's where it runs into trouble.

So far the Tab S3 matches Apple's iPad Pro 9.7 in pretty much every category with its display, stereo audio, stylus, and keyboard support, but unfortunately we still don't know how competitive it will be compared to the iPad Pro, because Samsung is refusing to reveal the price. Right now, Samsung Singapore is only willing to reveal a vague release date of "Q2 2017" and that both Wi-Fi and LTE versions will be available in two colors: black and silver. This is a premium Android tablet, designed to be a performance powerhouse, whether that's gaming, watching the latest movies - in the latest formats - or just getting productive with your Android tablet.

Samsung has clearly put some thought into making the Galaxy Tab S3 a real all-round tablet. Not only is it an entertainment marvel with an HDR-capable screen and quad speakers, but it’s also a productivity machine too.

The Galaxy Tab S3 is one of the first exciting Android tablets I’ve seen in a long time. The device plays to Samsung’s strengths and has a great-looking display, alluring design and solid set of extra features – the best of which is the S Pen stylus.

There's still a lot to test on the Galaxy Tab S3 including the audio, battery life and performance but we're impressed so far and looking forward to getting our hands on it properly. Come back soon when we've properly put it through its paces compared to the iPad Pro and when we have a price.

Overall, our first impressions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 were positive. Featuring an impressive list of specs and a host of productivity and security applications and powerful processor, the device has the potential to be a popular Android power user tablet this year. However, those looking for something remotely different to your bog standard tablet will be sorely disappointed.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 looks to be a very nice tablet indeed, but then the Tab S2 was great as well. The key factor will be the price, and we don’t know what that is just yet.

Still, it looks more promising than just about any other Android tablet doing the rounds right now - so if you were getting ready to head down to the Apple Store, you may want to hold onto your cash a little while longer.

With the Galaxy Tab S3 9.7”, Samsung lives up to the challenge, and the Korean manufacturer delivers innovative and effective new features, including the impressive QXGA AMOLED display with high-quality HDR video streaming and top-notch audio, an updated S-Pen with an enhanced drawing experience, and state-of-the-art slim detachable keyboard.

The main problem with tablets has always been one of practicality. The idea of a large real estate touchscreen device is unquestionably cool, but most people still don't quite see a use case for a laptop and smartphone middle ground, so to say. Concepts like 2-in-1 and powerful input accessories, like the S Pen definitely help in filling that intrinsic void and are a clear effort for placing products like the Tab S3 closer to laptop productivity territory.

Commentaire
Qualcomm Adreno 530:
