Source: Top for Phone Français

80% Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus review: Middle of the road?
Source: Expert Reviews Anglais EN→FR
Samsung would have done well to introduce at least something special with the Plus model this year to help it stand out, rather than simply playing it safe and sticking with its tried-and-tested “bigger screen, bigger battery” formula. However, it’s a better phone than its apparently small updates might suggest. In particular, it’s the move to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset that makes the difference this year. Not only is it faster but it’s more efficient, leading to significantly better battery life. That, paired with a host of smaller tweaks elsewhere, means it’s a great pick for anyone wanting a large-screen flagship Android phone and who doesn’t want to spend big on the Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus is a very minor update for the series, and it does feel slightly overpriced for what’s on offer. You’ll get a better screen on the OnePlus 11, a better main camera on the Pixel 7 Pro and faster charging on the majority of the competition. Yet, the S23 Plus still offers a very tempting package when everything is considered. This is a phone with a light, pocketable body; a big, bright screen and excellent performance. Software updates are promised for years, the camera is reliable and the battery life is very good. For most, I think paying a bit extra for the Galaxy S23 Ultra or even going for the more fun Galaxy Z Flip 5 is the smarter move in the long term.

80% Samsung Galaxy S23 & S23+ review: Samsung without the fluff
Source: Hardware Zone Anglais EN→FR
Nowadays, phones have come to a point where multiple options in the flagship series mean you get a plethora of very similar choices in terms of specs and performance at various price points. We have to give Samsung props for keeping all three models of the S23 series relatively similar in terms of aesthetics and performance. There’s very little FOMO (fear of missing out) even if you pick the base S23 over the S23+ or S23 Ultra. A fair comparison might be to the Xiaomi 13, which uses the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and comes with features like LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage while maintaining a similar price point. However, Samsung's advantage is its robust ecosystem and the promise of five years of security updates, versus Xiaomi’s promise of four years of security patches. All things considered, the S23 and S23+ have to be one of the better choices in the affordable flagship category.

93% Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus review: A plus for size and battery
Source: Root Nation Anglais EN→FR
We have previously tested the classic S23 model from Samsung’s latest lineup and the advanced S23 Ultra, so this review of the S23 Plus is more of a comparison with the other “brothers” in the series. The S23 Plus is a “tweaked” S23: it has a larger screen and a larger battery. At the same time, the smartphones have the same cameras, identical display matrix, identical design, that is, everything except batteries, screens and storage capacity. On the other hand, if we look at the S23 Plus in terms of the Ultra version, we have weaker cameras, a smaller screen, a different shape (no rounded screen), but both models have the same processors with good cooling. If you’re considering any of the models in this series, want a big screen and a classic “crisp” design, but can’t pay the extra for the Ultra version, go for the S23 Plus.

The Galaxy S23 is a top-notch smartphone that’s difficult to fault when you consider it as a complete package. The only drawback we could find is the lack of a fast-charging technology that’s suitable for a flagship device. Samsung should come up with a better charging solution, particularly for their high-end smartphones, as 45W charging doesn’t seem to be sufficient. Despite this, the Galaxy S23+ excels in all other areas that are essential for a flagship smartphone. While the S23 Ultra has gained a lot of attention and rightfully so, the regular S23+ is a great choice for most people. It’s much cheaper, has the best battery life in its class, superb speakers, excellent performance, and a stunning display. The cameras are also fantastic and more than enough for most users’ needs. The S23+ has a lot of competition, especially from Xiaomi and OnePlus. There are areas where devices from these manufacturers are slightly better than what the S23+ has to offer. However, they make some glaring omissions as well, which spoil the experience of the user. Moreover, Samsung has made a name for itself with stable OS releases and updates – then there’s the fact that Samsung has a very robust after-sales service, something that most Chinese smartphone manufacturers still haven’t been able to crack. If you want us to summarise our experience of the Galaxy S23+, it would be this – unless you absolutely need the S23 Ultra’s smart pen, are planning to get the best Android smartphone on the market, and are not very keen on getting a compact smartphone, the Galaxy S23+ has to be at the top of the list. Barring a few instances, it is just as good as its more expensive and gargantuan elder brother, the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S23+ and S23 are almost identical in terms of design, camera, and performance. The difference lies only in the display size and battery capacity, which makes the former a bit more expensive. However, the S23+’s svelte look and tenacity for clicking excellent snaps combined with an affinity towards strong processing capabilities, make it an attractive high-end choice.

90% Samsung Galaxy S23+ review: Mainstream appeal
Source: Pocket Lint Anglais EN→FR
The Samsung Galaxy S23+ will likely be the phone for many people. With the screen space that the regular S23 lacks, and a price that's more attractive than the S23 Ultra, it only makes a couple of sacrifices against that top model. There's power, there's performance - perhaps only let down by the battery life and charging, which isn't quite best in class. But as an overall experience, with phones like the Galaxy S23+ it's easy to see why Samsung remains one of the top choices. It is, perhaps, not as showy as some rivals that want to turn your head, but with long software support and plenty of features, it remains a top choice when it comes to choosing an Android smartphone.

Samsung played it safe with the Galaxy S23+, and the phone misses out on the Galaxy S23 Ultra's 200MP camera and a larger battery. That said, it is still one of the best phones around, and the switch to Qualcomm hardware globally makes the device an enticing option in countries where Samsung only sold Exynos variants. The customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset is the fastest you'll find on any Android phone today, and Samsung optimized One UI 5.1 to take full advantage of the hardware. Combine that with excellent cameras, all the extras you could possibly want, long-term software updates, and a manageable design that's great in daily use, and the S23+ is a terrific overall choice.

Samsung Galaxy S23+ Battery test
Source: DxOMark Anglais EN→FR
The Samsung Galaxy S23+ battery earned a good global score, placing it in the top half of our database. The Galaxy S23+ achieved 61 hours of autonomy when used moderately. When testing individual usages indoors and outdoors the performances were also very good when watching videos or using social apps. However, battery performance was weak when listening to music or when using the camera. The charging experience was overall average, whether wired or wireless. However, the autonomy recovered after only a 5-minute charge was slightly above average. The device’s efficiency when charged by wire was average, but poor when using the wireless charger. Discharge currents were low in all individual usages (except when listening to music and when using the camera), meaning that the device is well-optimized. When compared with other devices from the Ultra-Premium range price ($800+), the Samsung Galaxy S23+ performed very well, supported by its excellent autonomy and efficiency scores in this segment. The charging experience was good, but only slightly above average for the segment.

The Samsung Galaxy S23+ is in sort of a weird spot. It's a large, high-quality, thousand-dollar flagship, but it's not Samsung's flagship flagship. If the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is a phone for enthusiasts, though, the Galaxy S23+ is for slightly more casual smartphone users who still want a big, premium device, but don't necessarily need every single feature they can stuff in their pocket. For those buyers, the S23+ is almost ideal. If you've got an S22-series phone, and you're wondering if you should upgrade to the S23+, the answer is no. Assuming your last-gen phone is still going strong, you'll gain very little with this upgrade. Performance is a little faster, the battery lasts a little longer, and the back of the phone looks a little nicer (and that last one is subjective). But if you're using a phone from 2021 or earlier, and you're looking to upgrade to a new, large Android flagship soon, the Galaxy S23+ won't disappoint. Try not to pay full price if you can avoid it, but even for a cool grand, this is a very good phone.

There's a lot to love about the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus: its flat screen is more practical to use than the curved one of the S23 Ultra; the battery life is really impressive for this generation; and there's all the brightness, power and software ease-of-use you could wish for. However, compared to its predecessor there's just not much that's new, save for the improved design and battery life, and the higher asking price has given the competition greater opportunity to swoop in on Samsung's success and pose a genuine threat.

For most, I think paying a bit extra for the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the smarter move in the long term. It has a better screen and a far better camera, plus useful extras like the S Pen.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus review: A treat for Android lovers
Source: India Today Anglais EN→FR
The Samsung Galaxy S23+ is priced at Rs 94,999 and it is worth every penny because of the top-notch Android experience you get out of the box, with some software goodies. It offers a luxurious design, buttery smooth performance, and an eye-catching display. The battery life is pretty solid. I can easily say that this one has a great set of cameras that are capable of offering picturesque shots in good lighting conditions. The night photography is pretty impressive compared to the competition. All this combined with long-term software support makes the Samsung Galaxy S23+ a great Android phone. Yes, it is a bit expensive phone and the company has increased the price of the latest generation by at least 10,000 compared to the Galaxy S22+, but you get the best Android experience as well. There are several huge discount offers available on the e-commerce platform, which makes the deal even more enticing. However, there is one downside of the phone, no charger in the box.

The last generation Galaxy S22 Plus was a bit underwhelming but the S23+ surprised me with its performance even though some may question the awkward positioning of the phone that falls between the cheaper Galaxy S23 and the slightly more expensive, but top-grade Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ are a nice update to last year's models with improved performance and battery life. Small cosmetic changes, in my opinion, benefited these smartphones, although I would not say that they are significant. And the new products will be a good solution for those customers who do not plan to spend money on the most expensive gadget possible, although they want to get one of the best smartphones. The operation of the cameras at night is the only thing that slightly spoiled the impression of the test devices. But, as I already said, most likely this is a small error in the software (or our samples), which will not take much time to fix. Fans of this line, who already have an S21 or S22, currently have no fundamental need to run to the store for an update. But owners of older Galaxy, or people who simply plan to upgrade their smartphone from another manufacturer, should still take a closer look at these models

It’s a foregone conclusion that the S23 Plus will be the least popular member of the S23 family, but that’s not because it’s a bad phone — that would be impossible when it shares so much with the other Galaxy S23 variants. However, it serves a niche: people who want a big Samsung flagship without the expensive gimmicks of the S23 Ultra. You won’t get an S Pen or a fancy quad-camera array, but the Galaxy S23 Plus gets all the other important things, like the latest Snapdragon chip, a phenomenal OLED screen, and Samsung’s killer update promise. The Galaxy S23 Plus is perfect if you want a big, no-nonsense phone. Carrying the S23 Plus is a joy compared to the Ultra, which is bigger, heavier, and more square. You can tell the Ultra is in your pocket every minute of the day. That won’t be a problem for some, but the S23 Plus is slim and unobtrusive enough that anyone will be able to ignore its presence until they need it. The materials, construction, and design are all the best you’ll see this side of the iPhone, too. We’re particularly fond of Samsung’s matte glass, which gives you the scratch resistance of glass without making the phone a slippery fingerprint magnet. Perhaps the best thing about the S23 Plus is that it’s almost all screen, and the screen is a stunner. There’s a hole-punch at the top for the selfie camera, but the display is otherwise uninterrupted, surrounded by a narrow symmetrical bezel. It’s crisp and readable outdoors with its maximum 1,750 nits of luminance, and it gets dimmer than most phones without becoming a fuzzy, low-contrast mess. Yes, $1,000 is a lot for a phone, but Samsung has attractive trade-in offers. Even after the pre-order bonanza, you can get $400-500 for trading in one of last year’s Galaxy S models. If you can part with your old phone, the S23 Plus starts to look more attractive. Samsung’s upgrade guarantee also ensures you can use the Galaxy S23 Plus for years without worrying about being left in the dust.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus comes with some minor upgrades and a new look. It offers better performance and battery backup than last year. Meanwhile, the display along with the back camera and charging speed remain the same. You get a clean UI experience with the latest Android 13 version and a bunch of customisation options. It feels and performs like a premium flagship phone like it should. However, all that comes at a hefty price tag. Overall, it’s a solid premium Android phone however I don’t see it as a worthy upgrade over the S22 Plus with only minor improvements.

Samsung Galaxy S23+ Display test
Source: DxOMark Anglais EN→FR
We put the Samsung Galaxy S23+ through our rigorous DXOMARK Display test suite to measure its performance across six criteria. In this test results, we will break down how it fared in a variety of tests and several common use cases. The Samsung S23 series has some of the best-performing displays currently on the market. Regardless of which S23 model you choose, the display experience will be quite similar and quite good, particularly in video, where every model achieved the same score. All models also exhibited “extra brightness” when “auto brightness” mode was deactivated on the device. However, there were a few minor differences in the display performance of the 23+ that were noted during testing, some related to the model’s different screen dimensions as well as to the design and tuning of the display. The S23+ finds itself between the basic S23 and the S23 Ultra when it comes to screen size. While the S23+ showed a good maximum brightness of 1500 nits when viewing photos on the screen (under 20.000 lux), this brightness, however, was 100 nits lower than the S23 and 270 nits lower than the S23 Ultra. This cost the S23+ some valuable points in readability. In the touch attribute, the 23+ outperformed the S23 Ultra as the smaller device was able to better manage corner touches. However, the S23+’s touch performance could not outperform the S23’s even slightly smaller screen in the touch attribute. With many of the measurements being nearly identical to those of the Galaxy S23, we direct you to the full summary of the Samsung Galaxy S23 display test results.

It might feel like nitpicking, but with so few meaningful changes, the S23+ doesn’t feel like it’s worth upgrading to if you’re using an S22 or S21. That is, at least, if you’re in the US. Those who are living with an Exynos version of an older Galaxy flagship will likely find a greater improvement in performance and battery life, making it a more worthy upgrade. But just because the S23+ isn’t chock full of surprises and updates doesn’t mean it’s not a good phone. It still ranks up there as one of the best Android phones around. Samsung has consistently delivered capable phones with thoughtful software and features in the last few years and with the S23+, it continues to be a serious contender for those looking for an excellent Android phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus grew on me as I used it, to the point that I didn’t much miss the extra features of the larger, technically better S23 Ultra (apart from that phone’s superior main camera). The Plus is a better, more manageable size with an excellent screen, better battery life, whip-fast performance, and a five-year software support promise. It benefits hugely from the efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and though you might think the design a tad dull in pictures, when actually using the phone it’s quite nice not to have a honking camera module – and the matt finish means no more fingerprints. You might prefer the bells and whistles of the Ultra or the smaller size of the regular S23, but going smaller means you sacrifice the Plus’s stellar battery life. Samsung Galaxy S23+ Audio test
Source: DxOMark Anglais EN→FR
We put the Samsung Galaxy S23+ through our rigorous DXOMARK Audio test suite to measure its performance both at recording sound using its built-in microphones, and at playing audio back through its speakers. All the models in the S23 series are equipped with the same audio specs, and performance results were relatively similar among all the three models, except for a few minor differences. For example in playback, the S23+’s color sound remained pleasant despite a very slight lack of low-midrange. Our testers thought that the bass could have been a little stronger, but the low-end was still satisfying to the ear, complementing the bright but pleasant treble. However, tonal balance depended on the volume. In recording, the S23+ provided an excellent audio-zoom performance, just like the S23 and S23 Ultra, but the S23 Ultra had the upper edge over the other two because of its extensive tele zoom level, which allowed it to gain significant points in the timbre attribute.

80% Samsung S23 and S23 Plus review: say ‘yes’ to the S

I still think most people would be happier with the S23 Plus, though. Performance from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is very impressive, and I have a lot of faith in it holding up after years of OS upgrades. Google’s custom Tensor G2 processor is also highly capable, but it’s a bit more of a wild card. Samsung also promises one more OS upgrade than Google does, which is weird but also a point in favor of the S23 Plus. There’s room for Samsung to keep improving its flagship slab-style line, even if the industry is collectively turning its attention to the foldable future. This 3x telephoto camera has served its time and could use an update, and the slightly nicer screen tech on the Ultra will surely trickle down to the regular S-series phones in the future. More than that, Samsung needs to give us all some good reasons to keep spending $1,000 on its high-end phone when Google has so much to offer for (more or less) the same price. Now is certainly not the time to get too comfortable.

As we can see, there is a huge price gap between the small S23 and the Ultra. So, Samsung made the Plus to be an in-between option. Bigger than the S23, but without the Ultra’s flair. Honestly speaking, I personally think the price of the Plus is appropriate. It’s justifiable, just for whatever reason – many people tend to forget about the Plus and rarely get talked about. Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23 Plus | Unboxing & Comparison
Source: Tech Spurt Anglais
Unboxing the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus as well as the regular 6.1-inch smartphone, with a side-by-side vs of the camera tech, gaming performance test, battery size and other specs. I'll be reviewing the Samsung Galaxy S23 next but here's a closer look at that and the Plus, to see which phone is best for you! The big difference between these two OneUI 5.1 mobiles is the battery (besides the obvious size shenanigans). I'm hoping for improved life on the Samsung S23 compared with the S22, but stay tuned for my final verdict to be sure. Both Galaxy S23 smartphones are powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, but the Samsung S23 Plus seems to churn out better benchmark scores. There's only a small margin however and the regular blower can cope with gaming on Genshin Impact on higher graphics settings. The camera hardware is also the same on the Galaxy S23 Plus and regular Samsung flagship. And while these aren't as good in low light vs the Ultra, they're still decent for everyday photography. 80% Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus review: an incredible phone (with a catch)
Source: Digital Trends Anglais EN→FR
So, should you buy the Galaxy S23 Plus? On its own, there’s no question the S23 Plus is worth the $999 asking price. It has a fantastic design, beautiful display, virtually perfect performance, reliable cameras, powerful software, and fantastic battery life. There’s honestly not much to complain about. But there’s a catch to all that. When you start putting the Galaxy S23 Plus next to the competition — both from Samsung and other companies — things get complicated. For $200 less, the regular Galaxy S23 gives you virtually the same experience. You have to be OK with a more compact display, smaller battery, and slower charging, but at $799, it’s an excellent deal. Even more appealing is the OnePlus 11. It can be yours for just $699 and has the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a 120Hz AMOLED display, a similarly great camera system, and even faster 80W charging. And if it’s a Google phone you prefer, the $899 Pixel 7 Pro delivers a more capable camera and cleaner software for $100 cheaper. The Galaxy S23 Plus wouldn’t be my first recommendation for everyone. But that’s not to say there isn’t a market for it at all. If you know you want a Samsung phone, need a bigger screen and larger battery than the base S23, and can’t quite afford the flagship S23 Ultra, this is the phone for you. It’s probably not the Samsung phone most people should buy, but if it’s the one you’re after, you’re highly unlikely to be disappointed with it.

OneUI 5.1 on Samsung's Galaxy S23 series smartphones is packed with features, so here's a tips and tricks guide for the S23, Plus & Ultra to maximise your camera time, gaming and battery life! The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra may boast the best camera of this bunch, but even the regular and Plus models serve up some great features for capturing slick snaps. Gaming on the Samsung S23 Plus, Ultra etc is a joy as well, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 stuffed inside. 80% Samsung Galaxy S23+ review: Breaking down the pros and cons
Source: Nextpit EN Anglais EN→FR
When rumors surrounding the Galaxy S23 series began circulating, it became apparent that Samsung wouldn't stray too far from last year's offerings. However, this didn't matter as the S series was already excellent in 2022. The Plus version's enhancements are particularly welcome since the price remains the same as last year. While the phone's features, display, and main camera hardware haven't undergone significant evolution, it still has more pros than cons. I recommend that Samsung fans who already own a Galaxy S22 skip this generation, but for all other fans, I suggest buying it. With powerful hardware, new software, reliable camera, and excellent battery life, the Samsung Galaxy S23+ is an exceptional flagship. In conclusion, the phone offers many more benefits than drawbacks, making it an excellent choice for Android enthusiasts. While Samsung, as well as Apple, Google, OnePlus, and Motorola, could do more, this year isn't really one for major innovations in the flagship smartphone space. Instead, it's a year for ensuring hardware and software consistency. For this reason, upgrading your phone this year may be the best decision. Hence, Samsung receives a four-star rating, although a rigorous one.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus is the middle child in the Galaxy S23 flagship line-up but this doesn't mean it's forgotten. The price is a tad expensive but you do get a really great camera that's capable of capturing quality images and the compact size makes the Galaxy S23+ easier to fit into a coat pocket. The battery is decent and so is the display, plus, we love the improved design. Do take a look at the green colour option if you can as we think it's particularly eye-catching without being in your face.

90% Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus review: The Galaxy you should buy
Source: Phone Arena Anglais EN→FR
Despite my pessimistic expectations that the Galaxy S23 Plus was shaping up to be a minor improvement over the Galaxy S22 Plus, I can honestly admit that it's quite the improvement in many important, key areas. While there aren't exactly exciting revamps that "wow" at first glance, using the Galaxy S23 Plus reveals that Samsung has certainly perfected the formula behind the phone. When it comes to performance and battery life, two areas in which Samsung flagships (especially Exynos ones) have been lacking, the Galaxy S23 Plus goes back to the drawing board with the hopes of giving users a totally new Galaxy experience. That was especially true for me, as I was mostly accustomed to the Exynos versions of Samsung's flagships, and to say that I'm pleasantly surprised by Samsung's dedication to deeply ameliorate the Galaxy flagship lineup. The Galaxy S23 Plus surely has enough for it going on to be an excellent alternative to both the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23 Ultra, as well as a decent stepping stone for users that are willing to switch over from other manufacturers and ecosystems. Yes, even long-time users should consider switching to this one: the Galaxy S23 series is the perfect entry point into Android, and will remain so for many months to come. The Galaxy S23 Plus has a lot to offer, namely great performance and battery life, a bright and vivid display, as well as tons of features that build upon stock Android. In my opinion, this phone should be short-listed by anyone looking out for a new phone. It's hard to not get swayed by the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but this one is a traditional, sensible flagship smartphone that delivers on all fronts.

Should you buy the S23+, then? Well, that's a pretty tough question and an ultimately personal decision. What the S23+ offers is a solid and dependable Samsung flagship experience with all of the bells and whistles, as well as potential drawbacks that come with that. As such, it is a great choice if you are in the market for a Samsung flagship. Given how little has changed this generation, we doubt that many S22 or even S21 generation owners will be compelled to upgrade. Then again, the switch to a Snapdragon chipset is a major incentive and might just convince many European Exynos-hesitant buyers to finally consider a Samsung upgrade path. Whatever the reason for picking up a Galaxy S23+ ends up being, however, we are confident that it won't disappoint users in any meaningful way.

Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus Smartphones Review
Source: OI Spice Tech News Anglais EN→FR
Last but not least, the smartphone makers come with a great set of features and perks that will handle thoroughly the performance and gives beautiful camera results. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus are good choices that you should consider if you want to fully fledge flagship phones. If you are looking for a compact deal, we recommend you choose the Galaxy S23 in the first place. Though, you won’t find any major difference in the Plus variant except for the bigger battery life and tall aspect display. We will only recommend the Galaxy S23 Plus if you are willing to pay roughly $200 more for the bigger phone. Finally, you can look at alternative options like the ZTE Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro Plus, which comes with the same chipset for a lower price but have to give up the flagship camera setup. The final decision is in your hands, so choose according to your needs.

The upgrades Samsung has made to the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus are welcome, even if they don't look that large on paper. We like the new, tougher design, not to mention the potential of the updated selfie camera, larger batteries and custom chipset. But more testing is definitely needed to see if this is a big step forward from the Galaxy S22 series or more of a short shuffle ahead. Overall, this feels like a mild spec bump over the S22, new chip and massive camera improvement on the S23 Ultra aside. The hardware hasn’t changed all that much, and you even get mostly the same cameras as before on the S23 and S23+, just with some software enhancements. As with the iPhone 14, it feels like customers are getting shortchanged here, especially considering that the prices have gone up quite a bit over last year:

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series Hands-on - Wait for it!
Source: Pocketnow Anglais
So, what if Samsung did something it never really does, but that actually makes a lot of sense? Let me explain. For years the Galaxy S series has been the company's creme of the crop. Their best of the best in design, hardware, cameras and software. What the company has never done with it is iterate. Ever since generation one, every single Galaxy S has had its own design story. The S2 looked nothing like the S1, and so on and so forth ever since 2010. It's just not a common thing for Samsung to stick to a design for a second year at least on this lineup. We've seen it with the Galaxy A53, and also some of its laptops, but not their Galaxy S. This would be the first time we see sort of see this, but I'm actually gonna tell you that it makes sense if you didn't judge a book by its cover. I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and after spending a bit over two hours with Samsung's new flaghships, there's a lot to share in today's hands-on.

Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ First Impressions: More of the Same
Source: NDTV Gadgets Anglais EN→FR
The Samsung Galaxy S23's battery capacity has grown from the previous 3,700mAh to 3,900mAh, but the charging speed is still limited to 25W for wired and 10W for wireless charging. The Samsung Galaxy S23+ also gets a bigger 4,700mAh battery (from the previous 4,500mAh) but it can now charge at 45W when plugged in. Wireless charging is still limited to 10W. Both smartphones are powered by One UI 5.1 which is based on Android 13. Just like last year, Samsung has reserved the best hardware for its ‘Ultra' model and because of that, there's little that has changed with the new Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+ models this year when it comes to features. Minor cosmetic changes aside, Samsung seems to be banking on the customised Qualcomm SoC to set its phones apart. Stay tuned for our detailed review to find out if these should be your next flagship.

Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra Hands-on: 200-megapixels in my pocket
Source: Mobile Syrup Anglais EN→FR
In my testing, the S23 Ultra’s camera array is overall better than the S22’s, and I’m excited to put it through its paces once I get my hands on a review device. Alongside its shiny new 200-megapixel camera, I’ll test out its other three sensors, and put the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 through the wringer, alongside the 12GB of RAM and 5,000mAh battery. On the other hand, the S23 and S23+ are pretty much the same as last year’s devices, with upgraded camera software and a better selfie shooter. The S23 starts at $1,099.99 for the 128GB model and $1,179.99 for the 256GB variant. The 265GB S22+ is available for $1,399, and the 512GB variant comes to $1,559. Lastly, the Ultra comes in at $1,649.99 for the 256GB model, the 512GB variant costs costs $1,889.99, and the Samsung exclusive 1TB costs costs $2,209. While previous rumours said the phones would be more expensive, this luckily isn’t the case. In fact, the S22 Ultra’s 128GB model was priced at $1,649.99, the same as the S23 Ultra’s 256GB. Samsung cutting the 128GB storage variant from the Plus and Ultra options was definitely a solid choice on the tech giant’s part. The S23 series comes in ‘Lavender” ‘Green,’ ‘Cream’ and ‘Phantom Black’ and are now available for pre-order. Further, the Galaxy S23 and S23+ are also available in ‘Lime’ and ‘Graphite’ while the S23 Ultra is available in ‘Lime,’ ‘Graphite,’ ‘Red’ and ‘Sky Blue’ colourways exclusively on Samsung’s website.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus might seem like the awkward middle child of the S23 range sat between the small-screen S23 and all-singing-and-dancing S23 Ultra, but if you’re more focused on entertainment than productivity and high-end photography, it looks to be a more tempting and, rather crucially, cheaper option than the top-end S23 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23+, and S23 hands-on review
Source: GSM Arena Anglais EN→FR
So let's try and summarize everything. Say you're the owner of a Galaxy S22 or Galaxy S22+, and you're looking at this pair and wondering if you should upgrade. The pre-booking campaign didn't offer enough in the way of discounts to really make a difference. The slight spec differences are also not enough to coax people into an upgrade. Well, perhaps disgruntled owners of the smaller Galaxy S22 might seek refuge in the Galaxy S23's potential battery improvement but that may be an edge case. The outlook isn't as grim for potential buyers of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Whether you own a Galaxy S22 Ultra or are in the market for the best possible smartphone, the S23 Ultra has something to entice you. We're banking on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to bring a tangible difference to both performance and battery life. The new 200MP camera has the potential to be much better than the stalwart 108MP.

Much like the Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23+ are on an incremental update process. Overall, It’s clear that Samsung’s new S23 flagships are iterative. And while these handsets deliver solid specs and features, the design language here is very familiar. Still, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is a welcome update – especially for those who have endured Samsung’s Exynos chips – and the S23 Ultra’s 200MP main shooter is rather promising. Hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy S23 series: Different enough?
Source: Android Authority Anglais EN→FR
Yes, you’ve seen a lot of this Samsung Galaxy before and certainly shouldn’t rush up to upgrade if you already own a recent model. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Of course, we would have liked faster charging, a revolutionary camera setup, or a groundbreaking redesign, but incremental improvements are just part and parcel of the mature smartphone ecosystem. What Samsung has done here is take what can be changed without much difficulty and cost, and refined it that bit further. Furthermore, that consistency is allowing Samsung to support its products longer-term. The Galaxy S23 series still comes with an Android-leading update pledge of four-year OS and five-year security patches. Meanwhile, eschewing ultra-fast charging might seem less sexy, but it will help the batteries last many years. The company also offers decent trade-in value on older models should you want to upgrade early. With Galaxy S23 prices the same as last year in the US (due in no small part to the phone’s familiarity), the Galaxy S23 series continues to stand out as a solid long-term investment. Our hands-on time has confirmed that Samsung still knows how to build great phones, even if they’re not going to blow your mind anymore.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus hands-on review: Middle of the road
Source: Expert Reviews Anglais EN→FR
Clearly, the S23 Plus is more of an iterative change than a complete reinvention. That’s not a hugely bad thing – after all, we liked last year’s S22 Plus – but it would have been nice for Samsung to introduce at least something special here, rather than simply play it safe and stick with its tried-and-tested “bigger screen, bigger battery” formula. After all, the S23 Plus isn’t exactly cheap. It starts at £1,049 for the 256GB model, which is £100 more expensive than last year’s phone. Want more storage? Expect to pay £1,149 for the privilege when it releases on 17 February.

Samsung Galaxy S23+ initial review: Subtle changes
Source: Pocket Lint Anglais EN→FR
The Samsung Galaxy S23+ delivers a premium build quality like its predecessor, along with a bright and vibrant display, a host of features and an upgrade in hardware. It has all the makings of being a great device, just like its predecessor was. The only problem with the Galaxy S23+ is that it's not overly exciting. Yes the design has been streamlined, but it hasn't moved on all that much so you don't get quite the same feeling as the likes of the Galaxy S8+ did back in the day when it replaced the Galaxy S7 Edge. We suspect the Galaxy S23+ will be a brilliant performer, but we do get the feeling Samsung has played it a little safe this year with this range, a little like Apple did with the iPhone 14.

I'm a bit torn over the loss of the Contour Cut camera on the new Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus. In Samsung's newest handset line – the S23 series – that raised bit of metal surrounding the camera array is gone. It's a cleaner look that I like, but I also worry that this 6.6-inch phone, and its smaller 6.1-inch sister (the Samsung Galaxy S23), have lost a signature look and a distinction from the rest of the smartphone pack.

Galaxy S23 Plus Preview: Samsung's hidden ace
Source: Phone Arena Anglais EN→FR
So far, we expect the S23 Plus to be quite the major improvement over the Galaxy S22 Plus in some areas, and not so much in others. When it comes to performance and battery life, we are hopeful that Samsung could introduce major enhancements to the Galaxy S23 Plus and the Galaxy S23-series as a whole thanks to its almost certain decision to drop its own silicon in favor of Qualcomm's. These improvements, paired with the generally excellent value that a Samsung flagship phone brings to the table might just be enough to make the S23 Plus our go-to recommendation when it comes to an all-around good Android phone. But hey, let's not put the cart in front of the horse.

Qualcomm Adreno 740:
