The price of the Galaxy S24 is about 180 euros more than the Galaxy S23, so you would have to pay extra. It depends on taking advantage of the promotions offered by Samsung. If the price is not a problem for you and you prefer longer support and additional functions, it is worth considering purchasing the Galaxy S24. However, it is worth noting that the Galaxy S24 also uses an Exynos processor, but it seems to be slightly better than its predecessor. Even though it can get warm at times, most of the time it works fine and doesn't cause any discomfort in use. Compared to the Galaxy S23 FE, the differences are small, so the choice mainly depends on your preferences and budget. Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is still a pretty good proposition. Of course, it has quite strong competition on the market from flagship models, but it seems to me that it is not much inferior to the classic S23.

The Galaxy S23 FE is the best phone to buy in this price range, and its price is its distinguishing feature. You can get an older phone for the same price, or you can find a few oddball options, but the S23 FE is a solid, reliable handset that looks good, and even comes in some unique colors. It isn’t as refined as the rest of the Galaxy S23 family, but it’s a huge step up from other bargain phones. If the price is right and you like the looks, the Galaxy S23 FE is a solid buy.

There are top-tier premium phones and there are low-tier budget phones. However, there are those devices right in the middle that make it hard to place them. The Galaxy S23 FE isn’t any one of them. It sits in an area where it doesn’t seem to belong. This is an affordable offering, but nothing about it points to that. The feeling doesn’t; the display doesn’t; the camera doesn’t. Just about everything with this phone makes you think that it’s a more expensive Galaxy S device. There were times when I needed to remind myself that I was using an affordable FE handset. When I’m blazing through Genshin Impact or watching movies on the incredible display, I forget that this phone is technically a mid-ranger. If you want a Galaxy S23 or a Galaxy S23+, and you can throw down the money for one of those devices, go for it. However, if you want a true-to-form premium experience with an amazing phone, I have no issue in recommending that you buy the Galaxy S23 FE. For only $599, you’re getting an experience that should cost hundreds more.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is a solid smartphone that offers a broadly flagship-like experience for a less-than-flagship price. Its performance, display, and camera system aren’t anywhere near top of the pile, but they’re still decent for the money. Its dedicated 3x telephoto camera is a real boon at this price point, offering a welcome distinguishing factor compared to the Nothing Phone (2) and even the more expensive Pixel 8. Conversely, neither the S23 FE’s hardware design nor its software are as appealing as those aforementioned rivals. There’s definitely a timing issue here, with the Galaxy S23 FE rapidly feeling somewhat outdated within Samsung’s range, especially with the older but flat-out-better Galaxy S23 now being heavily discounted. Even so, with decent software support and a comprehensive feature set that includes things like wireless charging and IP68 certification, it remains a safe bet.

In conclusion, the Samsung S23 FE presents a compelling package, offering a premium experience at a reasonable price. Its standout features include a vibrant display, a durable and aesthetically pleasing design, and a commendable camera system that, while not reaching flagship levels, outperforms many competitors in its price range. The device’s Exynos 2200 5G chipset, delivers stable performance, ensuring smooth multitasking and gaming experiences as well. Overall, the Samsung S23 FE emerges as a strong contender in the premium mid-range market, providing a well-balanced combination of features, performance, and affordability for users who seek a premium smartphone experience without splashing double the amount its generally needed for flagship phones.

I asked why this phone exists at the beginning of this review, and I think the answer only really becomes clear when you compare it to the S23 Plus or S24 Plus. The S23 FE is effectively about offering that big-screen experience with a powerful, fast processor at a much cheaper price than the Plus-sized Galaxy S phone. That, of course, means compromises, like raiding the spare parts bin for older components, but the experience is much better than the cheaper Galaxy A series phones. It's definitely not quite as good as a Galaxy S Plus, but -- crucially -- it's only about $600 to buy, and if you want the best Samsung experience for that sort of money, and you need a bigger screen than the smallest, older Galaxy S phones can offer, this is still your best bet.

Technically, Samsung delivered a really great smartphone in a very confident and experienced manner. However, there is the elephant in the room: other devices from the company might cannibalize its sales! What other handsets does Samsung offer? Unfortunately, it also doesn't help when the device is launched almost a year after the S23 and the usual power of depreciation has made the 2023 flagship mode affordable since. Do I really want to choose the S23 FE over the S23 because of an additional year of software support when almost everything else speaks in favor of the older smartphone with a minimal price difference? The really excellent Galaxy S23 FE comes a little too late at a rather hefty price tag (relatively speaking). All Samsung can do to save it now is to offer a significant price drop.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, the special Fan Edition from the S23 series, struggled in most of our battery tests, particularly in autonomy. When used moderately, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE provided a bit less than two days of autonomy, which is below average in our database. When testing under individual test cases, the performances were also poor. However, when gaming, the device showed relatively decent autonomy compared with other devices we tested. The S23 FE’s battery gauge was inaccurate, displaying 20% when the actual measured capacity was 16%, which could impact the user experience. Moreover, the last five percent of power left in the battery drained very quickly. With a 25W wired charger, the battery’s charging time was average, taking 1 hour and 34 minutes to fully replenish the battery. Wireless charging was quite good, taking around 2 hours to charge the battery fully.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is a versatile smartphone, almost a flagship, but not a "flagship killer." It's quite good, but the market is filled with smartphones offering similar or better specifications for the same or lower prices. However, there are those who prefer Samsung for the strength of the brand. I believe that when the device's price drops, it could become a sales hit.

The Galaxy S23 FE is a smartphone close to the flagships in terms of features and design, which is offered at a lower cost. However, the model cannot compete directly with them due to an older platform, a simpler set of cameras, and larger bezels around the screen, which deliberately emphasize the positioning of the device. Like the previous smartphones in the FE line, it will also be difficult for the new model to compete with Samsung's older flagships, especially since the new S24 series will be released soon. However, it is likely that in the long run and with a price reduction, the Galaxy S23 FE will become widely popular, just as it did with its predecessor, the S21 FE.

Samsung S23 FE is a solid phone. The improved Exynos 2200 makes it a good performer and there’s no doubt about its camera capabilities. Topped with Samsung’s excellent display, One UI 6, and improved build quality, the Samsung S23 FE is easy to recommend. The only drawback I find with the S23 FE is the thick bezels. What could Samsung have been thinking in this aspect? The Samsung S23 FE stands out as a well-rounded phone, offering a solid performance across various aspects. However, it does come with a slightly higher price tag compared to some competitors..

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE was launched two years after the S21 FE and although it has improved in some hardware aspects, it has not experienced a significant improvement. In terms of appearance, larger dimensions, heavier weight and wider margins are annoying, but the glass back panel and island-style cameras in the style of the S23 series have given a more premium feel to the new Samsung fan edition. However, the main improvement of the S23 FE should be sought in the more powerful chip and improved performance stability. If you have had the experience of working with the S21 FE, probably the most important challenge for you was the excessive heat of the body even during daily use. The new Samsung fan edition uses the same chip as the S22 Ultra, which brings more speed than the previous generation. The problem of body heat is still there, but it has improved slightly compared to before.

Reviewing the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE (Fan Edition) smartphone, which hits the UK one month before the fresh S24 flagship. I've been using the Samsung S23 FE Exynos for over a week as my full-time phone, testing the camera tech, gaming, battery life and beyond. And I've got to say, I'd rather go for the regular 2023 model which will be on sale again very soon. For one, the camera setup isn't quite as strong here, although still respectable for the price. You can capture good looking 4K or 8K movies, but that photo quality does dip in the evenings (especially with living subjects). Gaming is also slightly stunted by the Exynos chipset, while the battery life is certainly inferior on the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE compared with the Snapdragon original. Still, the design is as sleek as usual and One UI 6 has some nice new features. But yes, also still Bixby. Always Bixby. The media chops are solid and at least the 256GB model of Samsung S23 FE doesn't cost too much more. Plus you've got those excellent trade-in deals.

As the final major smartphone launch of the year, the Galaxy S23 FE has ended 2023 on a damp note. It’s not all bad news – the refreshed design, bright AMOLED display and capable main camera all hit the mark – but this generation’s re-skin could and should have been much better. Outside of cost-saving, Samsung’s decision to switch gears and swap out the far superior Qualcomm chip for its own silicon is frankly bonkers, as it results in a noticeable downgrade in both performance and stamina. Add in the fact that the regular S23 costs about the same at the moment, not to mention the impending S24 launch, and you’re looking at a smartphone that fails to make a positive impact in an otherwise stellar year for Samsung.

I've ummed and ahhed about how I truly feel about the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE. Because in my job I review new phones every couple of weeks – yes, I'm effectively a spoiled superfan – the presence of this handset feels like it sits in the shadow of the wider S23 line-up. And with the S24 series reveal now imminent, I think that true Samsung Galaxy fans are going to be questioning "why this?" and "why now?". While the S23 FE's use of older-gen hardware is technically a step down, I really didn't feel that in use – there's plenty of power here. However, certain apps will cause the handset to run warm and my biggest issue of all is that this hardware combination delivers battery life that's so-so at best. So while the whole 'Fan Edition' label seems like a misnomer to me, the true target audience for this phone are going to really like many of its features. It's got a larger display than the base S23, which I think will be a major appeal. The design is every bit the flagship in look and feel.

With an overall score of 138, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE delivered a very decent performance for its device class in the DXOMARK Audio test, offering a very natural sound experience when playing back audio through the built-in speakers and recording alike. On the downside, the device lacks useful features that you can find on some competitors, such as audio zoom or wind noise reduction, and recordings made with the recorder app are in mono only. In playback, the test results were consistently high across all use cases — listening to music, watching movies and gaming. In recording, the Samsung did best when shooting with the selfie camera. Main camera recordings’ results were only slightly lower, but performance dropped off for office and memo applications, mainly due to the monophonic recording.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE’s overall display performance was average for its category, but the device stood out for its excellent touch performance, which was accurate and smooth in all tested use cases. Users of the Galaxy S23 FE will also appreciate the device’s motion performance, whether playing games or just watching videos because frame drops were well managed. The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE fared very well in the video-watching use case for its category. Even though its measured maximum of 1421 nits provided a good user experience in terms of web-page readability, the display’s weak spot was its image rendering under sunlight, where tones were handled in a way that resulted in an important loss of details. Finally, color rendering was affected in every lighting condition by reflections of pink-to-green arcs on the screen.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE offered a very solid overall performance for a High-end segment device in the DXOMARK Camera test. The overall score comes pretty close to the more expensive Galaxy S23 and is noticeably higher than the more budget Galaxy A14 5G. Colors, and in particular skin tones were rendered nicely and images offered rich detail. A wide dynamic range ensured decent shadow and highlight detail in high-contrast scenes, and the good performance of the ultra-wide camera makes the Galaxy S23 FE a good option for landscape photography. On the downside, some artifacts like ghosting on moving subjects could be noticeable, especially when capturing low-light scenes. Results in video mode were pretty good as well, especially when recording under daylight conditions. Video stabilization worked effectively and the recorded footage had high levels of texture. However, with decreasing light levels artifacts made an appearance, specifically a vibration of some areas of the frame.

Are you a big fan of Samsung’s take on Android? Do you like how photos look when shot on Galaxy hardware? Maybe you’ve already got a Galaxy Watch on your wrist? You’ll feel right at home with the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE. It takes the best features from the full-fat S23 and significantly lowers the price of entry. The styling is on point, battery life is dependable, and it takes a very good snap with its main camera. There are some weak links, though, like the mediocre telephoto lens. The plastic rear also gets grubby rather quickly, depending on your colour choice. More importantly, there are multiple rivals out there for similar cash that compete on performance, photography and battery life. It’s not quite a case of “only Samsung disciples need apply”, but the true fans this device claims to be for have probably already picked up a regular S23 – or are patiently waiting for the S24.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is a solid phone when looked at singularly; it’s competitively priced with great performance, it boasts a trio of cameras including a telephoto that’s not usually found in the mid-range market, you get long-term software support and all-day battery life. However, the S23 FE isn’t alone in the smartphone market, and that’s where things start to get complicated. There are similarly priced phones that offer better performance, like the Nothing Phone (2), and there are others like the Motorola Edge 40 that offer a slimmer build and faster charging, making it hard for the S23 FE to stand out aside from that aforementioned telephoto camera. But, the final nail in the coffin has to be its cousin, the Samsung Galaxy S23.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is positioned below the flagship level, but from our experience, its texture, imaging, functions, and waterproofing have all reached flagship standards. Its overall performance also has a place in this year’s mid-to-high-end market. Although the Galaxy S23 FE does not use a flagship chip like other domestic mobile phones, the overall performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is still completely sufficient according to current measurements, and it is more than enough to play high-load games. The most noteworthy thing is the imaging aspect. The Galaxy S23 FE has the same main camera and three full-focus cameras as the S23 standard version. This does not seem to be a configuration lower than that of the standard version of the flagship machine. In the actual test, the color of the three cameras of the mobile phone remained consistent, and the telephoto camera was never absent.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE does seem to provide great value. The internal components on the new Galaxy S23 FE are either extremely similar or close to the regular Samsung Galaxy S23 but are available for less price. For a lot of people, this price difference is enough to sway users to the new Galaxy S23 FE, and for other people, this allows them to buy a Samsung flagship smartphone that they never thought would be possible. Essentially, a buyer pays less and gets to have the same experience as the more expensive Samsung Galaxy S23, albeit with slightly lowered internal components, which are something people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Even the camera performance is equally enchanting. However, by the time Samsung brings out new smartphones, their old smartphones often go on sale. So chances are, you may find the Samsung Galaxy S22, the previous year’s flagship, at a similar price tag. So, when you are out on the market, keep an eye out for that as well. However, the final decision is up to you and your requirements.

When you consider the fact that the true flagship Samsung Galaxy S23 is only $150 more than its FE counterpart for the same 8GB/128GB configuration, the Galaxy S23 does seem to be even more value for money from a performance standpoint thanks to the better Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. For a Samsung fan, it may feel quite short of an all-encompassing Samsung experience. It's not quite the Fan Edition it first started out with (big performance and big value). It's also barely cheaper than the vastly more powerful Galaxy S23, that's just S$150 away and teasing you. But if you’re on a strict budget or just looking for a second phone, the Galaxy S23 FE is a good option, although it competes with the S$999 Nothing Phone (2). Samsung has also been running several promotions which have dropped the 256GB Galaxy S23 FE model down from $988 to much more attractive prices like $777.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is a smartphone focused on consumers who wish to get the flagship experience but do not want to spend on something like a Samsung Galaxy S23 or S23+. This one lives up to the FE legacy with flagship-level cameras, a good display, decent battery life and a great processor for almost anything you want to do with this smartphone. All this combined does deliver a premium experience, only if you can live with thicker bezels on a smartphone that costs more than 50K in 2023. Considering this smartphone does not have expandable storage, the base 128GB storage variant might not be sufficient for most people and buying the 256GB variant puts this smartphone in the sub 65K price category, which is already very saturated with the likes of OnePlus 11 (Review) with better performance and modern looking curved display.

The Samsung Galaxy S23FE, at a starting price of Rs 59,999, is an affordable flagship, inherits a premium design, robust performance, and a capable camera system from its pricier counterparts. With a sleek aluminium-glass build and a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display boasting adaptive 120Hz refresh rates, it delivers a fluid and visually appealing user experience. Powered by the Exynos 2200 chipset with expandable RAM, it handles multitasking and gaming efficiently. The camera system offers improved image quality, vibrant colors, and strong low-light performance. While its 4500mAh battery may seem modest, it lasts a full day of typical use, and 25W fast charging tops it up quickly. The Galaxy S23FE is a compelling choice for those seeking flagship features on a budget.

Samsung’s FE (fan-edition) lineup is the South Korean tech giant’s series of devices with top-of-the-line features, normally found in its flagships, repackaged with a more affordable price tag. With Samsung entirely skipping the Galaxy S22 FE, we weren’t sure if the company had decided to entirely end its S-series FE line. Though lo and behold, in October, Samsung revealed the S23 FE. Priced at $649.99 for the 128GB/8GB version, the S23 FE positions itself as a cost-effective alternative to the S23, which starts at $879.99 for the same spec model. The Fan Edition device aims to deliver the essentials of the S23 line in a more affordable package, and it does so in some aspects.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE name makes little sense, but the phone has every chance of finding its footing when its price settles down. This late Galaxy S22 FE has an attractive dual-glass design, a great OLED screen, capable hardware, consistently good cameras, superb speakers, and flagship software. We did appreciate the dual-glass design, and we are fond of the new colorways. We are not fans of the extra weight and the thicker bezels, though - even the 6.6-inch 22+ is smaller and lighter. Still, the S23 FE retains a classic design, and we think many will like it. The camera quality is excellent across the board - main camera, 2x zoom, 3x telephoto, ultrawide, selfie. This applies for photos and videos, any time of the day. Samsung has been consistent with its quality and processing, and while its punchy colors may not be everyone's cup of tea, they are valued by many. The chipset is quite powerful and still flagship-grade, but its GPU stability is far from ideal, and gamers should want to consider something else before deciding on this Galaxy.

A quick glance will tell you the Galaxy S23 FE is a Galaxy S phone — Samsung just cut a couple of corners to keep the price down. It’s got the same general shape, camera design, and button placement as the other S23 phones. Like those devices, the S23 FE has an aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass on both the front and back. However, it’s Gorilla Glass 5 instead of the latest Victus 2, as seen on the S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra. It’s a well built phone overall that feels good in the hand, but it’s a shame we’re not getting more modern Corning glass when the similarly-priced Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 both have first-gen Victus protection.

In 2023, there’s another $599 phone to consider: the Nothing Phone 2. It doesn’t fully work on Verizon, so it’s not an option for everyone, but it comes with a big 6.7-inch screen, a polished interface, and the newer Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, with all its improvements in battery efficiency. More than that, it feels like a device designed with purpose — not to clear out a parts bin. Samsung found a way to wedge the S23 FE in between the midrange and premium classes, and I don’t think it’s a bad thing that we have one more good phone on offer between $500 and the $800 flagships. But as for the “fans” this phone is supposedly designed for? They’re better off waiting for the Galaxy S24.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is a pretty solid smartphone and embodies the spirit of the S23 series in a more cut-down price. However, priced at Rs 60,000 for the base variant, it faces some really tough competition, sometimes even from Samsung’s own offerings. The Galaxy A54, for example, is a solid choice. The S23 FE would be great for someone who would like to have a similar camera experience as the S23, but wouldn’t want to pay the price of the S23. However, given how budget smartphones have improved their camera offerings in the last two years, Samsung finds itself in a sticky situation with the S23 FE. Having said that, there are a number of reasons why one would be inclined to go for the S23 FE. Apart from a seriously good camera array, it has a premium build and design and a pretty awesome display.

When comparing the Galaxy S23 FE to its most immediate price competitors, the FE can come off as a bit lackluster. But for a mid-size Galaxy flagship with only a few flaws, Samsung has made the Galaxy S23 FE a worthy successor to the FE name, even if it won’t be as popular as its predecessor. If you’re on a carrier, the Galaxy S23 FE can make a lot of sense, but stuck between flagships and more affordable mid-range phones, it’s also easy for it to get swallowed up in a crowded field. That’s especially true when it has an Achilles heel like the Galaxy S23 FE’s telephoto camera and constant oversharpening, which keep this phone from rising to the top of the competition.

If the vanilla Galaxy S23 is regarded as the wallflower of the family, then the FE variant – at least in my opinion – is pretty much the middle child. It inherits much of the series’ best features but, at the same time, lacks certain things. To make up for this, the phone tries to stand out by appearing much different from the rest, with hopes of getting some sort of attention. I believe that this analogy is fair, as if it was anything worse, I would’ve considered it as the line-up’s black sheep instead. Despite its faults, the FE is still a decent entry to the Galaxy S series, featuring performance and cameras that are certainly above average. Its attractive starting price of RM2,999 also makes it a solid choice for those who are looking to upgrade from an entry/mid-level device or a past-generation flagship. Still though, if you are planning to pick the phone up, I highly recommend getting the Graphite option over the other colourways.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE brings the most practical features from last year’s Samsung flagships at a relatively affordable price. Besides performance closer to a flagship phone, you get five years of continuous software support, including four Android updates. Along with Samsung’s commitment to software, features like wireless charging, as well as dust and water resistance, make the Galaxy S23 FE a very appealing choice at this price. The cameras on the Galaxy S23 FE share the same underlying framework as the more premium Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus devices. With Pro photo and video modes, you can take full advantage of the sensors, although the processor’s issues with heating may dampen the overall experience, especially as the phone ages. This brings me to my first concern about the Galaxy S23 FE — the underlying hardware that is infamous for heating issues and poor efficiency.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is easily one of the best midrange Android phones on the market. Though it costs $100 more, the Pixel 8 manages to edge it out thanks to its superior imaging prowess and Google's industry-leading seven-year software commitment. The S23 FE is a close second, however, and has some appealing features you won't find on the Pixel 8 like a dedicated telephoto camera, a bigger screen, and the ability to use it like a computer via Samsung's Dex mode. So if productivity is more important to you than camera tricks, you won't find a better $599 phone than the Galaxy S23 FE.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is a good phone for various reasons. The camera is really great and the addition of a telephoto camera is an added bonus. You also get an attractive AMOLED screen that produces vibrant colours and the content looks pleasing. It has a premium design and IP68 water-resistant protection as well, which makes it a good buy. The battery life is decent and the general performance is also fast enough. However, you don't get a charger in the retail box, so one will have to spend extra on this or they can use an old one. The new Samsung phone is priced at Rs 59,999 with Rs 10,000 cashback offer on Amazon, people can get it effectively at a lower price of Rs 49,999. And we’ve arrived at the end of the review. There is one burning question that I want to ask everyone – since this is a phone within the FE family – it stands for Fan Edition, by the way – which fan asked for this phone at this price? For us here in Malaysia, it starts from RM2,999 for the 128GB model and I highly recommend you get the 256GB model – which is RM3,299. And I just think that the price is unjustifiable. I think Samsung knows this too as they straight up offered a RM300 instant rebate the moment this phone was available for sale. Certain platforms have an even heavier discount – so make sure to hunt for the best deals before making the purchase. I’ve seen the price go down as low as RM2,107 for the 128GB model. Now, assuming that you are buying it at a heavily discounted price, then I’d say yes – this phone is actually worth the price. You get good cameras, great ecosystem features, and also the ever-fantastic Samsung One UI software.

At the end of the day, I think the Galaxy S23 FE is very good successor to the last FE phone and it really comes with some significant upgrades rather than incremental ones, but the launch price is just too much to recommend and thankfully in typical Samsung fashion, they are offering a lot of rebates for the phone if you are keen to own it rather than paying for the more expensive S23 or S23+, and if you could wait till double digit sales festivals, you could get this phone at a way lower price tag and I think for the design, cameras and software, the Galaxy S23 FE checks all these boxes as a really good value-for-money flagship phone.

The "FE" by Samsung stands for Fan Edition, a marketing name by Samsung that gives "what fans want" without the typical high-end prices for Samsung premium-grade devices (a.k.a. budget flagship-grade). With the Galaxy S23 FE touting an astoundingly low starting price of S$888, even by FE standards, we're definitely curious if Samsung can still pull off a budget flagship handset that can measure up to its own premium-tier devices (for reference, its true flagship Galaxy S23 starts at S$1,038, and the previous Galaxy S21 FE was S$978). Samsung first debuted FE products with the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (review here), which was well-received and spurred the brand to bring in its successor, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (review here). The Koreans then skipped a generation of FE phones, saying they needed to cancel the Galaxy S22 FE to have enough hardware parts for the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Fast forward to date, and now we have the Galaxy S23 FE to show what Samsung thinks its best users are truly willing to pay for.

The Galaxy S23 FE's big bezels prevent the phone from making a good first impression, but once you look past that, you're getting a lot of value here. And while Samsung's decision to use 2022's Exynos 2200/Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chips may also be off-putting, it doesn't ruin the actual user experience thanks to better optimization and cooling compared to the Galaxy S22 series. If you really must get the phone with the best processor, which is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and are ready to bear the cost, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ are still excellent options. But you probably wouldn't be reading this review if you had no problem shelling out the extra cash, and if that's the case, the Galaxy S23 FE is recommended.

So what is our initial assessment? Quite honestly, we are of two minds. Technically, I think Samsung has delivered a really great smartphone very confidently and routinely. But there is this elephant in the room: The competition from our own company! We have an expectedly good performance, a great display, a balanced camera lineup and a high-quality design. However, we do not know the release date, which we only know is far in the future and probably beyond the Galaxy S24 launch. We also do not know the price, but everything stands and falls with it. The Galaxy S23 FE is supposed to bridge the gap between mid-range and premium S-range. The thought is good, but does Samsung hit the exact sweet spot in terms of both technology and price that will keep those interested from reaching for the A-Class and not yet the S-Class? That's precisely the cliffhanger I'll leave you with here now. Please write me your thoughts about a really great smartphone and less than great accompanying circumstances in the comment section.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE boasts several noteworthy features, most notably its telephoto lens, which excels at capturing impressive zoomed-in shots. Moreover, the phone offers a robust build and design reminiscent of the flagship S23 models. It also boasts a vibrant AMOLED display with a high refresh rate and houses a capable Exynos 2200 chipset for seamless performance. On the software front, the phone enjoys commendable support, and its battery life holds up reasonably well. My only qualms with the device are the relatively slow charging speeds, thick bezels, and the price tag, which might dissuade potential buyers, prompting them to explore alternatives such as the Vivo X90 and OPPO Reno 10 Pro+ 5G. Nevertheless, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE provides a relatively cleaner software experience, making it a solid choice for those seeking a blend of features and value.

However, all other areas of the phone are just as good as flagship-grade Samsung devices. You get a 4,500mAh capacity battery with Samsung Super Fast Charging (25W wired), Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and Wireless PowerShare for reverse-charging accessories. You also get IP68 water-and-dust resistance, a considerably non-negotiable protection for a phone to call itself a budget flagship contender. Finally, you also get Samsung's guarantee of four years of software updates and five years of security updates like its high-end counterparts, so the Galaxy S23 FE is built for users beyond those who change phones out like changing underwear. After not making an FE version of the S22 last year, Samsung’s most affordable line of Galaxy gadgets is back for 2023 with a bit of a twist. Instead of being shorthand for “fan edition,” going forward the FE tag will simply denote gadgets that are a bit cheaper but still offer many of the same features and design as their flagship siblings.

On Pocketnow Daily, let’s talk about Apple, because we have some interesting reports about possible new Macs coming soon. Samsung announced the first Fan Edition Galaxy Buds and they are good. We algo have new members of the Galaxy Tab family, the Tab S9 FE and the Tab S9 FE+. Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is now live and let's just say it's what we expected and it's not.

Samsung’s Fan Edition (or FE) series has had its highs and lows over the last few years. It earned a place in our hearts with the well-positioned Galaxy S20 FE, only to fall out of favor with the too-little, too-late Galaxy S21 FE. Then, Samsung skipped the series altogether when the Galaxy S22 family hit the market. Now, it’s back and hoping to recapture a little of its initial magic. Here’s what I thought of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE during a short hands-on session with the device.

I understand why the Galaxy S23 FE exists. Not only does it give Sammy a "new’" phone heading into the busy holiday season, but it also gives consumers even more choice — and that’s something I feel is important to note here. If the Galaxy S23 FE cameras prove to be just as formidable as the Galaxy S23 by delivering outstanding quality, I think this could be one phone uou can't overlook, even if the A54 is $150 cheaper. There are trade offs to consider, but I think Samsung justifies the Galaxy S23 FE's exsistance.

So, will the Galaxy S23 FE truly be what Samsung fans want from the company's "lite" flagship? Our guess is that it will! With an improved camera system featuring new image sensor across the board and a powerful new chipset the latest Fan Edition phone from Samsung should cover all the bases to achieve its ultimate goal: giving flagship-level performance for less money.

Commentaire
Samsung Xclipse 920:
