Extérieurement, le Realme C55 dame le pion à beaucoup de téléphones entrée et même moyenne gamme. Mais, l’intérieur est moins reluisant. Le SoC est certes plus puissant que celui de son prédécesseur, mais ce n’est vraiment pas un foudre de guerre. Cette manque de vigueur est compensée par une belle autonomie et quelques raffinements logiciels supplémentaires pour l’augmenter. Pour les photographes en herbes, on trouvera mieux ailleurs, notamment chez Samsung qui propose un capteur panoramique, même sur ces modèles les plus abordables. Ses capacités en IA étant faible, le traitement numérique n’est vraiment pas à la hauteur.

Un mobile qui n’est pas une bête de course (là où certains concurrents placent le focus) mais qui offre d’autres atouts tels que la batterie et sa recharge rapide, sa capacité photo (capteur 64MP*), son écran de bonne qualité, ou encore son système d’exploitation efficace. Un mobile que l’on peut recommander à ce prix, si votre objectif n’est pas d’avoir le smartphone ayant le meilleur score Antutu, mais offrant un usage quotidien tout à fait agréable malgré tout.

Le smartphone realme C55 rend une copie qui est relativement satisfaisante vu son prix. Son design est assez remarquable voulant jouer dans une plus grande cour que celle pour laquelle il est destiné. Son écran est correct avec une bonne définition mais, selon nous, manque d’un peu de luminosité pour être vraiment passe-partout, devant se contenter d’une dalle LCD moins qualitative que les écrans OLED. Nous avons apprécié la qualité des photos, là encore à rapporter au tarif du téléphone fournissant des clichés intéressants, surtout en plein lumière. Le Soc est un peu poussif mais tient encore le coup et l’autonomie est tout à fait satisfaisante. L’expérience logicielle n’est pas la plus agréable mais on peut s’y faire proposant de nombreuses options de personnalisation. Disons pour conclure que le realme C55 propose un bon rapport qualité/prix.

Le Realme C55 est un smartphone d’entrée de gamme. Le fait que pour environ 150€ il est possible d’obtenir un smartphone sous Android complet fonctionnel est déjà une prouesse. Cependant, l’expérience d’utilisation du smartphone n’est pas idéale, avec beaucoup de ralentissements dans les menus. Pour répondre à la question de l’introduction, en ce qui me concerne, j’achèterai plutôt un vieux haut de gamme d’occasion, même si le smartphone ne profite pas des dernières mises à jour. Si toutefois vous n’avez d’autres choix que d’acheter un smartphone neuf, que vous ne vous en servez que pour l’essentiel et que votre budget est très serré, le Realme C55 peut être une option intéressante. Le Realme C55 coûte vraiment pas cher, certes, mais qui n'en vaut pas la peine. Les très faibles performances rendent le smartphone assez désagréable à utiliser. L'appareil photo est également loin d'être idéal. Il est difficile de plaindre de quoi que ce soit à ce prix là, mais en même temps,

The camera performance after the update turned out quite good, too. Finally, the long battery life and the fast charging are nice treats, too. Furthermore, there are faster phones at the same price in some markets. In 2023, several smartphone brands have started offering 5G models at the lower end of the budget segment. There's the Infinix Hot 20 5G (Review), priced starting at Rs. 11,499, and the Poco M4 5G at Rs. 11,999, to name a few. Then there are smartphones such as the iQoo Z6 Lite 5G, which costs Rs. 13,999 onwards and offers better software performance and good camera performance along with 5G connectivity. Realme thinks it has found a sweet spot with an interesting design (for a budget smartphone) and a decent camera which shoots good daylight photos. However, battery life isn't up to expectations for a budget smartphone, and the software is loaded to the brim with bloat. My unit lagged and stuttered throughout the review period, despite having 8GB of RAM. This makes the Realme C55 really hard to recommend. Consider it only if you need a good camera or are willing to ignore its shortcomings because of its unique design.

This is probably the best value C-Series smartphone realme has put out, although, there are still some minor setbacks. In terms of advantages, the stylish look, 64MP main shooter, Android 13 OS, and 33W fast charging are really good selling points, but in terms of display, AMOLED would have been the best choice. I mean, I would prefer to have an AMOLED panel instead of a 90Hz display. I am not saying that 90Hz is not good but if you are not that into gaming but use your device for entertainment use only, then AMOLED is clearly the best choice. They could have also used a different sensor instead of the 2MP B&W lens. But all in all, considering its price, Realme C55 can be one of the best options if you are looking for a feature-packed budget smartphone that carries lower mid-range specs and good overall performance.

Memory capacity is more than sufficient (just a pity that the type is eMMC and not the newer UFS). The only thing that lets you down is the processor – it’s not new and it’s frankly weak, but it’s not critical for everyone, because not everyone likes powerful games and loads the phone heavily. Against competitors in the budget price range up to $250, the new realme C55 stands out with a decent camera (albeit without extra modules) and decent memory capacity. 33W of charging is also to be commended: it’s not something unseen today, but it’s not uncommon to find only 10W on a budget phone. Fresh Android is also a definite plus. Considering the price and other advantages, the smartphone seems to us to be a very good option. The design is quirky, but bright - it makes a statement. The Realme C55 is a decent upgrade to the C35, which failed to meet my expectations in every possible manner (apart from its slick design), even at its budget price. With the C55, Realme seems to have delivered on design once again, and its software and camera performance seems promising but I'll leave my opinion for the full review. At the moment, the Mini Capsule feature, while unique in an Android phone, seems to be in very early stages of development. I still have to test its usefulness in day to day usage, but as of now, it's not something that should influence your buying decision. Still, it's a feature which has a lot of potential if developed, especially when you consider the C55 costs less than a quarter of the Apple iPhone 14 Pro in India.
