Dommage.

The Oppo Reno6 5G turned in a stellar battery performance, taking top marks in certain categories and coming in first globally among all devices in our database as of this writing. The device is well-balanced overall and provides a good comprehensive experience. The performance during the Typical Usage Scenario was decent, as well as the autonomy during our on-the-go tests (except when using GPS navigation and camera, where the autonomy is slightly below average). When testing in calibrated mode, the autonomy was average, but the device struggled during the 3G calling use case. The charging experience was excellent thanks to the 65W charger. It filled up the battery in only 34 minutes and 53 seconds and provided 10 hours of autonomy on average after a 5-minute charge. The charge efficiency was good, but the residual consumption of the charge when the device was fully charged and still plugged in was high. The discharge currents were low on average, which means that the device was well-optimized (except when calling).

Oppo’s latest mid-range phone series is now also available in Europe, a few months after its initial launch in China. Unveiled alongside the Pro version, the Reno6 5G comes with a number of attractive features, including a multi-camera setup with a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, 64 MP main camera, and a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. Like the Pro model in terms of audio the vanilla version benefits from a collaboration with Dolby. However, it is only equipped with one speaker, thus unable to deliver stereo playback. We put the Oppo Reno6 5G through our rigorous DXOMARK Audio test suite to measure its performance both at recording sound using its built-in microphones, and at playing audio back through its speakers. In this short review, we will break down how it fared in a variety of tests and several common use cases.

The Reno6 5G is the junior model in Oppo’s Reno6 range, featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Images can be viewed and composed using a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. The front camera couples a 32 MP sensor with a 23.55mm (equivalent) f/2.4 aperture lens that offers a 89° field-of-view. For video the Reno6 5G’s front camera shoots either 1080p or 720p resolution at 30 frames per second.

Although its zoom is capped, the Reno6 5G’s touch accuracy in the gallery app is satisfying. While gaming, every part of the screen is responsive to touch. The device is quite smooth when browsing, but a few steps are visible when swiping through photos in the gallery app. The device reacts to some ghost touches, especially in landscape mode, and aliasing is visible when playing video games.

Overall, the Reno 6 5G is a pretty good phone. Its best qualities are the camera performance, good looking design, excellent battery life, and decent mobile gaming performance. However, it has some shortcomings, including the mono speaker and the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. Is its price tag justified? Well, that depends - if you're just getting it for the design, form factor, and camera performance, then we think it's worth it. But because most Malaysians are price-sensitive, the Reno 6 5G has a tough time against other phones using a Snapdragon 778 5G chipset with a lower price tag. This includes the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE (RM1199), realme GT Master Edition (RM1499), and the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G (RM1899).

I believe that the OPPO Reno6 5G is a beautiful smartphone with standard technical parameters and dimensions, and a great AMOLED screen. Another advantage is fast charging, great cameras and a convenient fingerprint scanner located in the screen. The smartphone works very fast. But not everything is great. The battery is not impressive, and the camera is weak in low light. There is also no optical stabilization, and no slot for memory cards and stereo speakers. 90 Hz screen refresh is fine, but competitors have more. The plastic back should have been glass, but it is not slippery and does not get dirty. There are many other competitor models in this price range. For example, the cheaper and more powerful OnePlus Nord 2 5G or the slightly more expensive but more powerful Xiaomi 11T. Or the Realme GT 5G based on the top Snapdragon 888. The Moto Edge 20 Pro is also nice and has similar flat shapes. Even the Samsung Galaxy A52s has the new efficient Snapdragon 778G chipset. To compete, the OPPO Reno 6 5G should be cheaper.

There are some neat personalization options for the UI to tweak the icon styles, app layout, colours, fonts, icon shapes etc. While there is no LED notification indicator, you can opt for edge lighting for notification when the screen is off. Features like gesture and motions actions, quick-access settings like smart sidebar, assistive ball, quick return bubble, quick launch, split-screen, screen recording google lens integration in screenshot etc along with granular control over app settings might delight some users.

The Oppo Reno6 5G isn't exactly a niche product, and it's hard to recommend unless you are in it for the design. It's nice, but it's not enough to sell the phone. All of the phone's competitors are more powerful, even the lower-priced ones, and all have superior displays too. The lack of stereo speakers, microSD card slot and ingress protection are just contributing to the argument. Camera quality is indeed good, and the fast charging may win over some buyers; however, none of those are exclusive to the Reno6 5G as well. There are plenty of handsets between €400 and €550 that are giving you a better value for money.

Despite coming in behind its rivals when used for phone calls, the Oppo Reno6 5G is a very well-balanced and well-designed device that shows good autonomy and outstanding results for charging and charge-up efficiency. The Oppo Reno6 5G turned in a stellar battery performance, taking top marks in certain categories and coming in first globally among all devices in our database as of this writing. The device is well balanced overall and provides a good comprehensive experience. Oppo Reno 6 5G comes with a price tag of Rs 29,990. Its design and form factor makes it stand out in the over-crowded Android smartphone market. Powered by a MediaTek processor, this 5G smartphone does manage to offer a smooth and lag-free performance. Along with a good design, the Oppo Reno 6 5G offers good cameras and battery backup as well. The support for 65W fast charging further makes the deal more lucrative. So, if you want a pretty and elegant looking smartphone with all the above-mentioned benefits then, you can go for the Oppo Reno 6 5G.

When we reviewed the Oppo Reno 6 Pro, we found that it offered a lot of features, but that the competition offered similar performance for less money. In the case of the Oppo Reno 6, there are smartphones like the Mi 11X and the Poco F3 GT which both boast a more powerful chipset than the MediaTek Dimensity 900. However, we recently tested the Mi 11X and found the Oppo Reno 6 offered better camera performance. With devices like the Realme X7 Max 5G and the Poco F3 GT offering improved performance with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200, the Oppo Reno 6 has some tough competition at this price point. All of this doesn’t change the fact that the Oppo Reno 6 is a smartphone that offers a satisfactory experience – including good camera performance, a high-quality display, ample battery life and fast charging which are all good things to have at this price range. Does it justify the ₹29,990 price tag? We think so. Whether it is enough to convince customers to pick up this device over the competition, only time will tell.

Overall, for P26,999 (8GB/128GB), OPPO Reno 6 5G is an ideal Overall Phone with an eye-catching design and solid build. It offers a striking look, fast charging, and balanced performance for both camera and gaming. It is a worthy competitor on the market, though the price is relatively high for a mid-range device and imagine, a new Reno smartphone will be released after six months. On the other hand, if you want a more affordable Reno6 with 5G, you can opt for the Reno6 Z, priced at P19,999 with almost similar performance to the Reno6 5G. But you will lose the better design and better gaming chipset.

The Oppo Reno 6 5G gets most things right, I think. The design of the phone is a blend of what the Reno 6 Pro 5G brings and that of the iPhone 12 Pro. And this is a terrific combination because this phone looks premium and beautiful. There is a small confusion with this design -- whether you should use a cover or shouldn't -- but that is going to be doable for most people who are not quite finicky. The display, performance, battery, and camera are all good and fit the idea of the phone that values beauty more than cutting-edge performance.

Oppo Reno6 5G features superfast charging speed, a premium design that resembles that of the iPhone 12, as well as camera performance is more than average although not perfect. It lacks a stereo speaker setup, it is expensive for the chipset it is using since both the OnePlus Nord 2 5G and Realme X7 Max use Dimensity 1200 SoC.

The Oppo Reno 6 lacks the sleek design and brute force of the flagship MediaTek SoC in the Reno 6 Pro, however for nearly Rs. 10,000 less, it offers much better value, and this is the one I'd choose between the two. I think the new design looks and feels premium, and this phone should be powerful enough for most apps and games. The battery life is also very good, it charges really quickly, the display is vibrant, and the cameras are very capable for stills. My criticisms for this phone would be that recorded videos could be better, stereo speakers are missing, and ColorOS can be a spammy nightmare at times. Also, expandable storage would have been nice to have, but I don't think it's a dealbreaker. While the Reno 6 is definitely better value than the Pro model, it might be hard to justify buying it after comparing it to the OnePlus Nord 2 and the Poco F3 GT. The latter two phones offer better features and more powerful SoCs, at lower starting prices, which could tempt prospective buyers away from the Reno 6.

OPPO Reno 6 5G is finally out in the Philippines. It is the successor of the OPPO Reno 5 series, most of the specs in this device are pretty much identical to its predecessor but powered by a different chipset. Our review of the OPPO Reno6 5G shows that while the Dimensity 900 processor and a more unique boxy design make it a compelling upgrade over the Reno5 5G that launched in the Philippines several months ago, we have mixed thoughts on OPPO choosing to recycle the rear camera setup and not giving substantial upgrades to it. There’s also the concern for optimization when it comes to games, but we’re confident that these will be addressed in the coming months. With the Reno6 5G being more expensive than its predecessor, it seems that OPPO wants to market it as a premium mid-range 5G device instead of one that fits more into the mainstream mid-range category.

The OPPO Reno6 5G is priced at PHP 26,999, and in this price range, consumers can’t help but nitpick at its features or the lack of it. The absence of a stereo speaker setup and a lower quality gaming performance compared to other phones with similar price tags, like the OnePlus Nord 2, might convince you to skip this phone instead. Price aside, the OPPO Reno6 5G offers great features that most users are looking for, like 5G connectivity, a stylish and premium design that will turn heads, an excellent display, and good cameras. That is if you’re willing to spend that much.

This is a great opportunity for smartphone users, as you get the specs of what a player wants, but you will be confused about which one to choose. While the Oppo Reno 6 5G variant comes with few retroactive features, the Oppo Reno 6 4G model offers stiff competition. Even the budget of the 4G set is smaller than the 5G because the demand for the future-ready 5g smartphone increasing every day. If you’re considering 4G as a purchase option, you’ll be ahead with the camera, the battery, and even the budget. In the 5G variant, you get a better processor and modern technology than 4G. This is where they become different from each other. But if you are not looking for a 5g phone you can definitely go for the Reno 6 4g smartphone. If you are looking for an alternatives option, you can check the Realme X7 Max phone can be a big competitor of the Oppo Reno 6.

The OPPO Reno6’s pricing remains its biggest bane over an otherwise well-rounded package of capable cameras, stylish design and good software. The OnePlus Nord 2 for instance, bests or equals the Reno6 in most aspects, while offering the 8GB + 128GB variant at the same Rs 29,999 price. It would be hard to find fault with the Reno6 had it been priced lower. In sum, the phone is capable enough to get you through all your smartphone needs, and while it might not rank high on pure gaming performance, it certainly scores on looks.

Talking about OPPO’s Reno series, the first thing that comes to your mind is definitely the characteristics of color matching, material, and appearance design. At the same time, it also has a very fast iteration time. As a fashion product, the season is actually changed. It is equivalent to changing the phone, and the iteration time of almost a quarter is also the update time of the fashion trend. Potential users of the Reno series are very fond of this set. After all, their needs for mobile phones have never been for the performance, screen, and fast charging of us big bosses, but just this mobile phone in hand. Not worthy of your own clothes, even this phone simply looks good or not, it’s that simple. But this is the case, OPPO still put a lot of flagship machine things and configurations on the Reno6 series, so that it not only has an excellent appearance and feel but also has the performance that can be a battle.

Commentaire
ARM Mali-G68 MP4:
