Ce Find X3 Pro est le produit se rapprochant le plus du smartphone parfait. Cela se traduit d’abord dans la construction et son armature. La préhension idéale offerte permet un usage au quotidien bien plus aisé que la majorité des appareils. Son écran tactile exceptionnel offre aussi beaucoup de garanties. Avec des performances de haute volée et surtout un appareil photo très innovant, le smartphone coche presque toutes les cases.

Aujourd’hui, des mobiles comme le Galaxy S21 Ultra sont selon nous encore plus polyvalents, malgré un design moins réussi. À ce rythme-là, on imagine qu’Oppo pourrait très rapidement arriver au sommet. Aujourd’hui, à défaut de dépasser Samsung, il égale selon nous Huawei.

Le Find X3 Pro est un excellent smartphone. Il apporte de vraies nouveautés et de bonnes évolutions par rapport au Find X3 Pro. Le design élégant et innovant. L'autonomie améliorée et la charge sans fil rapide. Les capteurs IMX 766 de Sony. La personnalisation de ColorOS. Sans oublier le Snapdragon 888. Voilà autant de points positifs. Nous ne pouvons également que louer les efforts de la marque de vouloir baisser le prix. Mais les concessions à faire pour en arriver là (stockage, zoom optique) seront, pour certains utilisateurs, trop élevées par rapport au gain financier.

Quand vous voyez passer beaucoup de smartphones, il y a fatalement un moment où vous vous sentez un peu désabusé. Jusqu’au moment où vous tombez sur une pépite qui se détache du lot et qui vous regonfle à bloc. Le Find X2 Pro en faisait partie. Ce téléphone a marqué au fer rouge mon année 2020. Toute la question est désormais de savoir s’il en ira de même pour le Find X3 Pro. Pour le savoir, il faudra bien entendu attendre mon test complet, un test qui sera mis en ligne d’ici deux ou trois semaines. Le temps d’avoir le téléphone bien en main et, surtout, d’avoir un peu pus de recul sur ce qu’il propose.

Le smartphone Oppo Find X3 Pro a vraiment tout pour plaire. Si nous avions un petit doute sur le design surtout de son bloc optique, nous devons avouer que le constructeur a particulièrement réussi sa conception avec une forme inédite et finalement très agréable à l’œil. Sa prise en main est exceptionnelle, le mobile offrant une puissance à toute épreuve pour l’exécution d’applications et le jeu. Son interface est encore optimisée ce qui la rendre agréable à utiliser au quotidien. Le travail réalisé sur les capteurs photo est très impressionnant, le mobile réussissant la prouesse de ne nous faire rater aucun cliché même en déclenchement très rapide et d’une façon générale, offre une très haute qualité d’image en toutes circonstances. Son écran est également de très haut vol.

On pourrait reprocher cette année un bloc photo un peu trop timide dans l’univers Android mais le focus sur l’ultra grand-angle et le grand-angle classique s’avère payant. Et enfin, parce que 2021 est synonyme de différenciation, comme Samsung, Oppo a réussi le pari de proposer un smartphone avec un design bien distinct qui le différencie de ses concurrents. On peut le dire, l’Oppo Find X3 Pro est un smartphone complet, réussi et équilibré et à ce jour, c'est sans doute le meilleur pour nous.

Alors qu’en toute transparence, nous avions un léger doute sur son design et plus particulièrement au niveau de son bloc optique, nous devons reconnaître que le constructeur a particulièrement bien réussi sa conception avec cette forme inédite et finalement agréable à l’œil. La prise en main de l’appareil est exceptionnelle. En effet, il est particulièrement puissant et son écran rend très bien hommage aux vidéos de qualité. Aucune application ne lui résiste et on profite d’une interface ergonomique, agréable à utiliser au quotidien. Le travail réalisé au niveau des possibilités photo du Find X3 Pro est très impressionnant. Ses doubles capteurs 50 mégapixels intégrant les fonctions ultra grand-angle et macro livrent des images de toute beauté et on apprécie aussi la fonction microscope même si, mais c’est personnel, nous préférons avoir un zoom de qualité qui voit loin.

Oppo’s 2021 flagship didn’t come cheap at launch, retailing for a rather pricey €1,149 at first. The phone has been on sale for €100 to €200 cheaper on the likes of Amazon, but it’s still evidently priced as a premium flagship. Fortunately, it still brings plenty of premium extras, such as fast wired/wireless charging, a top-notch OLED screen, and a unique, water-resistant design. It’s not a total hit though, as that microscope camera is fun but clearly in need of improving, while the lack of a periscope camera is particularly disappointing given that rival devices offer this or even two telephoto cameras.

The main thing I’m left wondering about is the price-tag. As good as this phone is, I think £1099 is a lot to ask of UK buyers, particularly when Oppo doesn’t have the same brand recognition as Samsung on these shores. The S21 Ultra, for instance, is similarly specced-out and is also very similarly priced on Amazon right now. Oppo has clearly tried to give itself a differentiating factor with its microlens camera, but personally I wouldn’t see it swaying me one way or the other. It’s a really cool feature for sure, but at the end of the day the novelty does wear off and you find yourself using it less and less. At least, that was the case for me. Regardless, Oppo has made a highly impressive flagship with the Find X3 Pro and I think the company will have a lot to say in the flagship Android smartphone conversation going forward. Ultimately I think the high price may just prevent this phone getting into as many pockets as it might otherwise have, but it’s still an excellent choice that does little wrong.

The sole bright spot was volume: the Find X3 Pro is loud enough and it’s intelligible at minimum volume. As a recording device, the Oppo Find X3 Pro fares much better, comparing well with other ultra-premium devices and with its brand forerunner. It produced good tonal balance overall, good dynamics, and also did well in the spatial attribute, with good wideness in life video and the meeting use case. The loudness in life video was also a strong point. In both video apps, overall sound is slightly muffled with a lack of treble and prominent low midrange. In many use cases, dynamics were impacted by some strange compression behavior, especially in the high SPL scenario.

Lighting transitions were well managed overall, and the device does a good job of adapting to the color space of visual content, thus increasing fidelity. On the downside, it could be a bit brighter when used outside and in direct sunlight. And the Find X3 Pro has some shortcomings when it comes to video playback with HDR10 content. It’s not bright enough, and there are problems with the management of contrast and color that do affect the viewing experience.
