Motorola’s Moto G82 5G has a big, beautiful screen, and impressive audio compared to many other phones in the middle of the pack price range-wise. It looks great, too, but if you’re picking it up you’ll need to ensure you won’t need more power – it’s no powerhouse.

Still, we can't recommend the Moto G82 without looking into what the competition has to offer. And more often than not, competitors seem to have a better camera performance - the main sensor is probably one of the smallest in the price category, leading to sub-par results. We've also seen faster charging and more comfortable, modern under-display fingerprint readers. The side-mounted on the Moto G82 is okay; it's just not as desirable as the under-display one. All in all, the Moto G82 definitely deserves a spot on our recommendation list in the sub-€300 category. Camera image quality is below the average for the class. But if cameras aren't much of a priority, the G82 would make a solid daily driver.

A phone that slightly undercuts most of its rivals on cost yet still includes a punchy OLED display and stereo speakers – but it isn’t top of the class for camera quality or gaming performance.

The Motorola G82 is an interesting mid-range Android phone with an excellent display given its price, and a very solid main camera that should make it easy for most people to use happily. Performance is decent, and while we don't think it'll win any design awards, it slots in as an interesting option in the market.

The Motorola Moto G82 smartphone is not a camera-centric phone and doesn’t have many customization features. But when you are purchasing the Motorola phone, you already know about those two factors. Apart from that, the device doesn’t feel underwhelming and is of great value if you prefer stock android UI over custom skin with lots of bloatware interfaces. The performance aspect is good enough to support your daily dose of internet, while the phone is available with sufficient internal storage and a great battery. Finally, we will recommend this phone if you are willing to sacrifice camera quality for a stock android experience. If that’s not the case, you can try out the 11i Hypercharge for more customization and a better camera experience.

The G82 is easily the new sweet spot of the Moto G range – and a welcome reminder that Motorola knows a thing or two about making well-specced phones that won’t sting your wallet. The stabilised main camera, 120Hz OLED screen and big battery are all big wins for a phone that costs less than £300. Moto’s softly-softly approach to Android works particularly well on low-end hardware, and overall performance isn’t too shabby either. Gamers might be better served by the OnePlus Nord CE 2, and the mediocre macro lens doesn’t add much value, but otherwise you’re getting an awful lot of phone for the cash here.

The Moto G82 5G is the first G-series smartphone to cross the Rs. 20,000 mark, but it's still priced well below Rs. 25,000 which isn't a very crowded segment. Motorola has equipped it with a crisp display, stereo speakers and made it splash resistant in an effort to distinguish it from the competition. The Moto G82 might appeal to those who are willing to stretch their budgets beyond Rs. 20,000 for its features. However, if you are willing to spend a little more than the Moto G82 5G's asking price, phones like the Realme GT Master Edition (Review) and the iQoo Z5 (Review) offer significantly better performance. Those looking for good cameras should consider the Realme 9 Pro+ (Review), which also offers better video recording performance. If you wish to spend less but want similar features as the Moto G82 5G, you can also consider affordable alternatives such as the Moto G71 5G (Review) and the Vivo T1 (Review).

This year we got a whole bunch of new budget novelties from the Motorola series Moto G – G71, G51, G31. Now it’s time for the senior model – Motorola Moto G82. It has a deuce at the end since it was introduced in the current 2022, and the previously mentioned were introduced at the end of 2021. The Moto G82 5G costs about $ 360. It’s not cheap, but this is not a primitive model in front of us, but a relatively high-performance device with a Snapdragon 695 processor, a juicy OLED screen, a 5000 mAh battery and fresh Android 12. Moto G82 is a successful mid-ranger with a chic 120 Hz AMOLED screen, adequate performance, a durable battery, stereo sound and decent cameras (we note separately the optical stabilization of the main module). And all this at an affordable price. Recommended!

Moto G82 5G is all about that bright and colour-enriched display which makes it a great deal for binge-watchers! Plus, the clean and customizable UI works as a cherry on the top. Beyond this, the Moto G82 is a decent performer for your general tasks, not to forget its long battery life. But, if your expectations from a smartphone include good camera performance, fast charging, and an exciting design, then you have to look elsewhere! And in such a case, the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus with the same processor takes many steps further with 67W fast charging and better camera performance even at a lower price. However, with an added stylish design and camera-dedicated smartphone, Oppo Reno 7 5G makes a good option priced at Rs. 28,999. That said, if you want to move on from bloatware-loaded smartphones, and looking for a decent performer with one of the best displays in the mid-range space, then Moto G82, priced at Rs. 21,499 is for you.

The Moto G82 5G is a solid offering for Rs 21,499. With the Rs 1,500 SBI card offer, the deal gets even sweeter at Rs 19,999. The Moto G82 5G checks almost all boxes when it comes to offering a reliable camera performance. While there is room for improvement when it comes to lowlight performance, the camera does a fairly good job for the price. Those who consume a lot of content will like the display and the speakers of the Moto G82 5G. Couple that with a long battery life, the phone is an obvious recommendation for those who have an on-the-go lifestyle. The software experience is also great. Props to Motorola for ensuring three years of security support and also promising to roll out the Android 13 update once available. The Snapdragon 695 SoC offers a good balance of performance and efficiency. However, its shortcomings, like no support for HDR10 and 4K video recording, pull the phone back from achieving the title of the best smartphone under Rs 25,000. While the design looks neat, it is now becoming redundant and Motorola really needs to hit the refresh button here.

There are many reasons to buy the Moto G82 phone but none greater than the fact that it runs stock Android 12, yet it lets you customize the little things like fonts, colours, icons, themes and more as a part of the MyUX personalization features. The user interface is clean, slick and a breeze to use.

The Moto G82 starts at Rs 21,499 and for the price, puts forth a competent package. The device doesn’t cater to a particular use case and instead, bundles acceptable specs in a handsome, lightweight chassis. That’s not to say that you should overlook the device’s shortcomings, which include (but are not limited to) lack of HDR media playback from Netflix and slow wired charging speeds. But, quite frankly, the smartphone’s clean software experience and capable performance somewhat cushion the blow. Consequently, if you were in the market for a device that offers a no-nonsense UI and is, for the lack of a better term – the jack of all trades – the Moto G82 is a decent option.

Motorola aims to widen the coverage of its G-series smartphones across price bands and the Moto G82 5G is the first example of this move. The new smartphone does face some stiff competition from smartphones such as the Vivo T1 5G (Review), OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G (Review), and the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G (Review). These smartphones offer similar hardware and tend to undercut the Moto G82 5G in terms of pricing. However, can features such as the optically stabilised main camera and IP rating swing votes in the G82 5G's favour? I will be putting the Moto G82 5G through our battery of tests, so stay tuned for the full only on Gadgets 360.

Commentaire
Qualcomm Adreno 619:
