No matter which way you slice it, there’s no compelling reason to buy the Moto G35 5G. Your best bet is to spend a bit more on the Motorola Moto G55 5G (~£180) – it’s superior across the board, with a better display, faster performance and speedier charging. Otherwise, last year’s Moto G54 5G is an appealing silver medalist, outclassing the G35 5G while only costing £15 more. The only problem with that recommendation is that the Moto G54 5G will disappear from shelves sooner rather than later, leaving you with no alternative other than the G35 5G for a sub-£150 5G phone. In that specific circumstance, with the better option discontinued to avoid cannibalisation of sales, the Moto G35 5G will serve you just fine. While the G54 5G is still available, however, there’s simply no reason to settle for the Motorola Moto G35 5G.

The Moto G35 5G offers good performance for the price, outperforming more expensive smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G (Review) and the Infinix Note 40X on some benchmark tests. It also offers 5G connectivity under Rs. 10,000, reliable battery life, and decent camera performance. It's worth noting that the company has offered only one Android OS upgrade for the Moto G35, while the aforementioned Galaxy A16 5G costs more and is slated to receive up to six upgrades.

Closing in on under £100 during recent sales, the Motorola Moto G35 5G is a lot of phone for the price. The rear cameras aren’t the best, and the audio could do with a little more life, but everything else is solid. The smooth, bright, and vibrant display is great for watching video and scrolling the web. Surprisingly, the budget chipset can pair well to offer a competitive advantage in the most common online multiplayer titles, too. So unless you’re in desperate need of a device to capture memories on a holiday, chances are the Moto G35 5G is all you need. Otherwise, it might be wise to look at the best budget handsets. Both the G55 and G85 sport slightly better cameras. There’s always the Nothing CMF Phone 1, too.

Unboxing Motorola's Moto G35 5G, a budget smartphone costing under £150 in the UK. This hands-on review shows off the camera tech, gaming performance, battery life and everyday experience with the Motorola G35. Is it the best option at this affordable price? Well, understandably this phone's camera setup is rather basic. It's fine for simple snaps in good lighting, but shooting in HDR and night scenarios doesn't yield pretty results. The Motorola Moto G35 5G is also pretty basic on the performance front. You can play games like Call of Duty and PubG on lower graphics settings, but even using the camera is quite juddery at times! The usual stock Android vibe is present on the Moto G35, as with most other Motorola phones. You've got some decent extras too, while the IPS screen is now FHD rather than simply HD. You technically get a stereo speaker setup too, while the Motorola Moto G35 5G is finished with a lovely soft-touch 'vegan leather' finish.

We’re used to accepting compromises in our sub-£149 smartphones, but the Moto G35 5G arguably goes a little too far. While I’m glad to see Motorola add a larger and sharper 6.72in FHD+ display, it has come at the expense of smooth performance. Using the Moto G35 day to day is an exercise in frustration. If you can live with the constant stutters and pauses, you might appreciate the addition of a dedicated 8Mp ultra-wide camera, solid battery life, and Motorola’s clean software provision. It still belongs in the ‘good enough’ category – just about – but spending a little more can get you a much slicker day-to-day experience.

The Motorola Moto G35 has everything it needs to be a fantastic budget smartphone. It features a modern flat design with eco-leather on the back, which provides a premium touch. The phone also has a great display that will not disappoint in terms of picture quality and outdoor brightness. The camera is also quite capable and so is the battery. The Motorola Moto G35 even has 5G technology, which is better for online gaming. On top of all that, the phone has Glass protection for the display. However, the pricing is a bit high, and other phones in the same price range offer better chipsets and faster charging. The chipset is the weakest part of the smartphone and gamers wouldn’t like it.

ARM Mali-G57 MP4:
