Now, onto recommendations. As I mentioned, each smartphone has its own set of advantages, and the price reflects that. When you choose between the Moto G14 and G24, you’re essentially choosing between a 90Hz HD+ screen and a 60Hz FHD+ screen, along with different designs. If battery life and power are more important to you, then pay a little extra and go for the G24 Power. The difference between the Moto G32 and Moto G54 also comes down to price primarily, and by paying a bit more, you get Moto Now, optical stabilization, a larger battery, a better display, and 12GB of RAM. However, you lose the SD card slot. And the choice between the Moto G72 and Moto G84 5G, I’ve essentially explained.

The Moto G34 5G represents just about everything that frustrates me about Motorola. On the surface, it’s got a good hook – cheap 5G, in this case – but looking a little deeper reveals a litany of baffling design choices that also throws the rest of the lineup into chaos. When the £150 phone performs the same as the £249 one, or lasts longer than the £190 model, it muddies the waters and makes it harder for consumers to make clear and informed choices. The end result here is that the Moto G34 5G ultimately sinks into that muddy water, failing to make a convincing case for its existence. If you came here looking for the cheapest 5G phone possible, hop back a generation and get the Moto G53 5G instead; it’s broadly similar but even more affordable (£118 at the time of writing). Otherwise, the Moto G54 5G is still the best budget phone you can buy. It’s only £40 more than the G34 5G (at the time of writing) and offers a whole other class of cheap smartphone.

The Motorola Moto g34 5G’s decent performance in autonomy wasn’t enough to lift the global score from the lower half of our database mainly because of weak performances in charging and efficiency. Equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, the Motorola moto g34 5G provided an autonomy of 58 hours and 51 minutes when used moderately, which is an above average showing. In outdoor use cases, the overall autonomy performance was relatively modest, except for the weak showing in social apps browsing. In individual use-case testing, watching videos in airplane mode and listening to music were challenging for the device. However, the autonomy was quite commendable in calling and watching videos in 4G connections. The battery’s charging time was below average, taking 1 hour and 52 minutes to fully replenish the battery.

Motorola has decided to continue its long-held siege on our list of the best cheap phones with its new Moto G34 — this was designed to be one of the most affordable 5G phones out there, and it’s a pleasantly surprising success. One of the first 2024 entries into Motorola’s low-cost line of Moto G handsets, you quickly come to know what to expect from these handsets. They won’t hurt your bank account but generally deliver unimpressive specs, a poor camera performance and lackluster displays. Given that the G34 is being marketed on its low price, you’d expect it to tick all these boxes, but it manages to punch above its weight in a few departments. A question I asked myself when I begun testing the phone was: “given that budget mobiles have weak specs to keep the price low, is 5G even useful on a handset of this price?” The answer I came up with is “in some use cases yes”.

Look past the slightly soft 6.5-inch 720p display and slightly sluggish everyday performance, and you’ll find a lot to like with the Moto G34 5G. It looks and feels good in the hand, the screen is big enough for binging content, the 50MP main camera is fine for everyday snaps, and the 5000mAh battery can comfortably get you through a day’s use. If you’re in the market for a 5G device in this price range, there are few that’ll service your needs better than the G34 5G, especially when considering the 120Hz refresh rate, battery life, and expandable storage.

The Moto G34 stands out primarily for its design, especially the version with eco-leather - it's cool! It features 5G, stereo speakers, and an excellent camera. The performance is adequate, and the system offers clean Android 14 with useful Moto features. However, the screen disappoints - despite being 120Hz, the resolution is low, and color reproduction and brightness are weak. Additionally, having only 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM in the base version is not competitive in 2024. Nonetheless, for its price, the model is still a success.

If you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful Android phone for kids, older relations or simply as an inexpensive handset for yourself, the Moto G34 5G has a lot going for it. Nice display, decent performance and cameras that can capture good images when there’s plenty of light. It has its flaws, but at this price, it seems churlish to complain too much.

How badly do you want 5G on the cheap? The Motorola G34 will get your mobile data up to speed, with more heroic hardware than the cut-price competition. Similarly-priced rivals tend to be 4G-only affairs, and skip out on 120Hz screens. Daylight camera performance is OK for the money, and while Moto’s update promise is basic, it’s at least in line with the budget competition. Performance is undeniably entry-level, though, and that secondary macro lens is absolutely a token inclusion. Phones in the next price bracket up should have longer lifespans, with hardware that can better keep pace with Android’s increasingly demanding system requirements and an extra year (or more) of software updates. That makes the Motorola G34 a bit of a false economy, at least in Western markets where the Honor 90 Lite can be had for £30 more, with double the storage and punchier performance. A Motorola G54 is also only £30 more. It might run Android 13, but has a higher resolution screen, twice as much storage and memory, plus a slightly faster CPU.

The Moto G34 5G will be competing with similarly priced phones from Xiaomi, Realme, and Poco. However, not a lot of phones in the price segment offer 5G connectivity, 120Hz refresh rate, and a Vegan leather finish on the rear panel. If you're looking to buy an affordable 5G smartphone and don't really care about camera performance, then the Moto G34 5G is an excellent choice. You also get a good display, dual speakers, pretty good battery life, and you can play games such as BGMI in low settings. However, if you need a good camera setup, then you're going to have to spend some more money.

Unboxing Motorola's Moto G34 5G, a budget smartphone costing just £150 in the UK. You've got a 50MP camera, 6.5-inch LCD screen, stereo speakers and minor gaming smarts - but is the Motorola Moto G34 5G worth that price? Here's a full hands-on review so you can see it for yourself. Like most budget phones under £200, you've got to accept some compromises. That camera tech is fine for simple everyday photos and basic video capture, but the Motorola G34 struggles in softer light and with subjects that want to move about. Gaming is also limited thanks to this Moto phone's older Snapdragon chipset. Call of Duty, PubG, etc all run fine, but if you want to get Genshin on the go, upgrade to something with more grunt. Thankfully the Moto G34 5G does boast excellent battery life, although charging is rather slow.

The Motorola Moto G34 has some of the most balanced internal components we have ever seen in a smartphone. It also has a decent display but the emphasis was on the internals and they have certainly delivered there. On top of that, the smartphone has 5G connectivity, which is bound to impress many users, especially considering the price tag of the smartphone. Overall, it’s a very well-balanced smartphone, which should be on your list if you are in the market to buy a new smartphone. However, if you can’t wait for the smartphone to start shipping globally, then you can go for the Xiaomi Poco M6 Pro, which is available at almost the same price tag but offers better specs in some areas. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your needs and requirements.

The Moto G34 5G is a good option for anyone who wants a clutter-free and smooth user experience. On top of the software advantages, the phone also comes with a distinct look and a capable processor that can handle day-to-day tasks with relative ease. The phone comes with a decent display and can take good shots with the primary camera as well, but the points I mentioned earlier are its strongest points that can tilt your decision in its favour. Some other handsets in the same price range that you can also consider instead are Redmi 12 5G and POCO M6 Pro 5G. If you’re more into photography than the performance of the phone and its software, you can choose to go for these handsets.

The moto g34 5G offers an extra-ordinary package at ₹10,999, it has the faster 5G connectivity at this price point, and better performance in the segment (Snapdragon 695). In addition to that, it has a smooth 120 Hz display, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a newer clean Android 14 with My UX, Moto Connect, and Moto gestures, and a decent 50 MP camera with features like Spot Color for video, dual capture video, and Google Auto Enhance. At the price of ₹11,999, the moto g34 5G has an 8 GB RAM option with 128 GB storage. If you’re looking for a budget 5G smartphone with fast performance, the moto g34 5G comes highly recommended.

Commentaire
Qualcomm Adreno 619:
