The Motorola Moto G Power is on sale for $300 at Amazon. I recommend this mobile device to people who want a solid camera and a mini home theater system. These two features allow the phone to punch well above its weight class. Thanks to its durability, it's a good option to take with you if you frequently travel. However, if you value battery longevity above all else, check out the base Moto G.

As a US-only release, Motorola's Moto G Power (2025) sits comfortably in its $300 niche without any serious competition by recently released phones. It's got an upmarket design with enhanced durability, loud speakers and a 3.5mm jack. However, it's not without its shortcomings. Check out our video review to learn ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW about the phone's top features, build and screen quality, battery life, performance, and camera image quality.

The Motorola Moto G Power for 2025 is almost identical to its predecessor, and that's not a good thing. Aside from a more durable rating and a marginally larger display, its cameras, battery life, and design are carried over from last year's model. The biggest issue is the new processor, which delivers slower performance year over year, making the phone hard to recommend. For the same price, the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G has better cameras, longer battery life, and superior software support, making it our Editors' Choice.

As we've seen throughout this review, the Motorola G Power (2025) does not quite live up to the legendary "G Power" name. It has lost its DNA of great battery life (it's decent, but not great) and it has not gained anything in return as it uses a dated LCD screen and its processor is actually a bit slower than rivals. We like the design and the clean software, but Motorola has placed ads in core apps like the Weather app and is promising just one year of software updates. We don't like to be harsh towards gadgets, but the G Power (2025) is that case where it's hard to justify its full $300 price.

It's the same old story with this generation of the Moto G Power as it has been for older versions of the phone — without spending a lot of money, you can get a device that can go multiple days without needing a charge. The extended software support and added durability add to the appeal of the 2025 phone over previous iterations. But I have to admit I was surprised that the the Moto G Power's calling card — its epic battery life — is actually trumped by the cheaper Moto G (2025). Considering that phone has a lower price tag with the same MediaTek chipset as the Moto G Power, bargain hunters who aren't swayed by the Power's better durability, ultrawide lens and wireless charging support may decide to save the $100 and get a phone that lasted longer in our tests.

It's nice to see a few nice higher-end features trickling down to the Moto G Power (2025). We appreciate the wireless charging, the IP69/69 ingress protection and the advanced connectivity features with desktop-like environment. We can't think of any other budget phone offering this. Also, unlike more expensive phones, you get an audio jack and a microSD slot here. And while we like the fact that Motorola went for a screen this big, we are not fans of the particular IPS LCD panel they've used as it suffers from an uneven backlight and high reflectivity, and both flaws are readily noticeable without any equipment. In our testing, we also found the camera quality underwhelming, to say the least, and the battery life - unsatisfactory. The reality is that for the current Moto G Power (2025) pricing, you can get a much better phone, even if it's a year or two older.

The Motorola Moto G Power (2025) manages to provide everything a budget phone should in every aspect of the phone. Let’s start with the design first. The design is brilliant and feels great in the hand. It has a modern design similar to Motorola’s higher-end smartphones, which will surely impress a lot of people. The display is also quite decent and its higher refresh rate provides a great user experience. The gaming performance may not be the best but good enough for PUBGm and CODm. The camera capabilities are also quite decent for this price bracket and video recording is also stabilized. Even the battery life is also excellent and you won’t find anything to complain about.

The Moto G Power nails so many things you’d want in a $300 phone: premium build quality with its soft-touch vegan leather back, a bright 120Hz display, reliable battery life with fast charging. It even surpasses expectations in some areas, such as the luxury of 15W wireless charging and a top-tier IP rating that even the Galaxy S25 Ultra doesn’t have. It’s a phone that can sometimes feel like it’s punching above its weight, offering features you’d typically find in devices twice its price. But, for a phone with “Power” in its name, it doesn’t quite deliver on the promise of performance. The Dimensity 6300 chipset is adequate for today’s needs, but it leaves me wondering how well this phone will hold up in a year or two.

In 2025, AI is the name of the game, but you won't really find that here. For $300, the Moto G Power 2025 is a solid budget phone that can get you through the day without weighing down the experience with a ton of superfluous features. It's for someone who just wants a phone that can do the basics, maybe play some games, and not much else. And honestly, that's great. Maybe the camera could be better. Maybe the bloatware can be a little annoying. But these are the concessions you'll have to deal with at this price point, and frankly, the Moto G Power 2025 could be a lot worse. Instead, Motorola seems to be making the best out of what it could get with the Power, improving its software support, giving it flagship-level durability, and making it look better than any other $300 phone on the market. Like the Moto G 2025, this phone surprised me, not because of how good it is, but because of how much worse it could be. It's not perfect, but you have to take it for what it is, and that's a pretty good cheap phone.
