The Motorola Edge 20 Pro has some decent things going for it. Mainly the impressive 144Hz OLED display and powerful components resulting in top-notch performance. It's also still the case that opting for a Motorola handset gets you an almost stock Android experience with mostly useful additions. It might seem like a good choice then but the competitiveness of the wider phone market make the Edge 20 Pro seem lacking - especially with that 'Pro' moniker and the asking price of £649. When it comes down to it, the handset is missing too many flagship features for to justify this figure, including proper waterproofing, wireless charging and properly fast charging. Then there's the fact that the cameras are only really able to pump out high quality results in good lighting conditions. The fact is, you can get similar and more well-rounded phones at cheaper mid-range prices - the Google Pixel 6, Realme GT 5G and OnePlus Nord 2, for example - stopping the Edge 20 Pro scoring any higher.

While not the best in the Premium segment, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro nevertheless offers a good overall experience, with more than 2 days of autonomy and a well-controlled discharge in most use cases.

The Edge 20 Pro is the current flagship device in Motorola’s Edge series, featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset and 12GB of RAM. Images can be stored on 256GB of internal memory and viewed on a 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution. In the camera module the Edge 20 Pro deploys a large 108 MP primary sensor and combines it with an 8 MP 5x tele (with folded optics) and a 16 MP ultra-wide for zooming in and out. In video mode the primary camera is capable of recording clip with up to 8K resolution at 24 frames per second. At 4K and FullHD resolutions you can pick between 30 and 60 fps. This looks all good on paper, let’s see how the Motorola Edge 20 Pro performed in our lab and real-life testing.

The Motorola Edge 20 Pro is by all measures a well-balanced phone. It doesn’t stand out in any specific way, but that’s not necessarily a negative. The elegant design should have its takers and performance is solid enough for most users. The camera isn’t going to set benchmarks, but what’s here is good and more importantly, consistent for everyday use. Not every phone needs to push the smartphone gamut forward, and the Edge 20 Pro earns a recommendation for being a safe, consistent bet for most everyday users. It’s got all the essentials you could need, but it’s the careful and considered software additions that stand out and leave a lasting impression. However, this is only really the case for those in India. The equation changes quite a bit when you consider the breadth of options available in Europe and the Motorola Edge 20 Pro’s inflated price. The Google Pixel 6, in particular, gives you all the benefits of a clean UI and adds to it with three years of software updates, five years of security patches, and cameras that are hard to beat, let alone match.

The Motorola Edge 20 Pro is the series’ top-of-the-line smartphone. The Edge 20 Pro comes with some outstanding specs, including a 144Hz display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, and a near-stock Android experience. These elements contribute to the Motorola Edge 20 Pro’s positive first impression. There are some more positive aspects to the phone. Its cameras perform admirably for a Moto smartphone, the high screen refresh rate makes motion look fluid (and outperforms many competitors), and the battery comfortably lasts a day of use. The Edge 20 Pro features a bigger battery than the standard Edge 20, with a 4,500mAh capacity that looks much better than the 4,000mAh of the non-Pro. There’s no super fast charging (the 30W fast charging is slow when compared to its competitors), no wireless charging, and no 3.5mm headphone jack. It also doesn’t have stereo speakers, which is a huge letdown.

Despite its decent treble reproduction, the Edge 20 Pro’s playback performance is heavily impaired by its single-speaker design, and a strong lack of bass and low-end extension. As a result, it isn’t ideal for playing music, watching movies, or gaming. As a recording device, due to an ill-adjusted noise reduction algorithm and uncontrolled sonic artifacts when recording in high sound pressure levels, Motorola’s latest top-of-the-line model isn’t ideal for recording in loud environments, and neither for meetings or memos. However, thanks to appreciable wideness, good localizability, and solid dynamic attributes, selfie videos fare noticeably better. All in all, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro consistently underperforms its predecessor, the Edge+, and isn’t a great choice if what you’re looking for is audio quality — whether for playback or for recording.

The latest offering from Vodafone to cross my desk is the Motorola Edge 20 Pro, this SmartPhone feels nice and well balanced in your hand and comes supplied with a silicon back and sides cover. While the face is of course shiny black it remains almost mirror like as finger marks do not tend to show, the back is a shimmering midnight blue.

The Moto Edge 20 Pro could have been a hit, but it turned out to be just a good smartphone. Yes, it stands out with a decent set of cameras, including a periscope telephoto lens, which is not found in every smartphone. An ultra wide-angle autofocus that can shoot macro is also a useful thing. The 144Hz screen produces a wonderful picture. The Snapdragon 870 processor in combination with 12 GB of RAM provide excellent performance. The 4500 mAh battery is not huge, but the battery life is great. There is also a Ready For mode – not only wireless, but also wired, with the special cable included. For this price, there are no competitors with such functionality. However… the much more affordable Edge 20 also shoots well (you can do without the 5x zoom, the other cameras are the same), also works quickly, and has the same display. Its battery life is weaker. But it looks thinner, lighter and nicer. If I had a choice of these two models, then I probably would not overpay for the Pro one. The Zenfone 8 Flip costs the same or less, it is also powerful and interesting thanks to the rotating camera

The Motorola Edge 20 Pro performed great in our review, giving users in the Philippines yet another solid premium mid-range phone to consider once the holidays come around. The phone’s good looks, solid cameras, and good performance make it a great workhorse despite our concerns about its overall battery life and charging speeds.

Motorola Edge 20 is here to give the OnePlus and other phones in the segment a run for their money. The smartphone comes with many pluses, including an impressive AMOLED display that comes with a high refresh rate and a stunning design. The swiping and scrolling is extra fluid in the Edge 20 Pro because of its high refresh rate display. The performance of the smartphone is also commendable as you can throw pretty much everything at the Motorola Edge 20 Pro, and you would not be disappointed, thanks to its Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM. It can also be an excellent pick for hardcore gamers as the phone doesn’t heat up while playing. Coming to the camera, the camera sensors perform an excellent job as long as there is ample light. The camera performance deteriorates when the light is not enough. The battery also lasts a day if you are not a heavy user. So if you are looking for a smartphone that excels in almost every area, you can consider the Motorola Edge 20 Pro.

The new Edge 20 Pro is here, and it is Motorola’s top 2021 smartphone. This is the successor to the Motorola Edge+ from last year, and just like it, it is a nice upper mid-range device. The Motorola Edge 20 Pro has great performance, nice build quality, and a modern-looking design. Its display is excellent, and its cameras offer solid performance. This is an all around great smartphone to have.

Motorola is targeting the Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 40,000 market segment with its Edge 20 series. While the Edge 20 Fusion (Review) and the Edge 20 (Review) cater to the lower half of this segment, the Edge 20 Pro is shouldering the responsibility of the higher end. The Edge 20 Pro sports good hardware, and the software is free from bloatware. While battery life is better on the Edge 20 Pro than the Edge 20, its camera performance does feel lacking compared to some of the competition. With OxygenOS potentially no longer being an option for purists, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro does position itself right against the OnePlus 9R (Review).

The Motorola Edge 20 Pro is not perfect, though the company’s vision holds immense promise – after all, who doesn’t like the ring of a flagship-tier handset with a stock-esque Android interface that’s void of any bloatware? To that note, the Edge 20 Pro performs well and doesn’t clog its interface with gimmicky features. The smartphone also ships with a gorgeous OLED display and charges relatively quickly too. It also helps that the device starts at Rs 36,999 in India, undercutting the likes of the iQOO 7 Legend by some margin. That said, the Edge 20 Pro’s thermals could’ve been better and the smartphone’s cameras, while good, are certainly not the best I’ve seen south of Rs 40K. Not to mention, performance fiends will find better value in devices like the iQOO 7 (review) and the Mi 11X (review) that retail for significantly less too. So, to conclude, the Edge 20 Pro is a compelling option and buyers up in arms about custom skins will find plenty to like here.

After spending some time with the Motorola Edge 20 Pro, I can say that it does pack in good hardware for the price. Its clean software is convenient to use, and overall, this smartphone could be a good alternative to the OnePlus 9R. Can the Motorola Edge 20 Pro beat the OnePlus 9R convincingly, in terms of actual usage, gaming performance, camera quality, and battery life? If you are curious, do stay tuned for the full review.

The headliner of all the Moto Edges this year, the 20 Pro does a lot of things right. It boasts a proper triple camera setup with a periscope tele camera, like the real flagships, something you can't find elsewhere at this price. The autofocusing ultrawide that doubles as a macro shooter is also a standout feature in this segment. All things considered, the Edge 20 Pro is at the top spot in the Moto lineup for a reason and also makes a strong case against competing efforts in the price range. Unless your specific preferences or priorities clash with one or the combination of its relatively minor shortcomings, we can't see why you shouldn't get one.

Motorola has committed a stroke of genius by chopping off a heel and cutting a toe, as far as individual specifications on the Edge 20 Pro are concerned compared to its predecessor. It has gotten the price so far down that it is hard to think of another mobile in the price range where you get just as much for your money. Well, the phone does not have the most elegant design, the screen resolution could be higher and it is especially annoying that it comes without built-in stereo speakers. But the performance is top notch, the camera works excellently, and then the Motorola Edge 20 Pro is the first mobile we have tested in the price range, that offers 144 Hz refresh rate. And the Ready For feature is just the icing that makes the overall package even more delicious. Hats off to the fact that Motorola has turned something resembling a disaster into being close to a hit.

The Motorola Edge 20 Pro has a worthy processor, good cameras and a fairly long-lasting battery, which on paper combine to make it a capable device. However, it’s bulky and doesn’t sit comfortably in the hand, and it doesn’t have anything truly unique to offer, making it hard to recommend amid the multitude of similar devices in the competitive mid-range market.

The Motorola Edge 20 Pro might be Motorola’s flagship handset for 2021 but it doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles you can get elsewhere. Despite that, the fast performance and long-lasting battery do make it a pretty convincing piece of kit. Plus if you’re someone who enjoys playing mobile games, then the massive display and 144Hz refresh rate are sure to make it an enjoyable experience. I wouldn’t say that this is by any means the perfect mid-range phone, and it’s definitely towards the pricier end of mid-range, but the Motorola Edge 20 Pro pleasantly surprised me with how well it performs across the board.

Motorola makes some compromises here and there to accommodate a 5x pericope zoom camera in the Edge 20 Pro. But if you’ve been waiting some time for a somewhat affordable phone to push this particular area of camera tech, you’re in luck. Just make sure you’re happy with the few things it doesn’t do quite as well first.

Considering the pros and cons of the new Motorola Edge 20 Pro smartphone, I can’t say that the device is a true flagship. But the current model cannot be called simple either. On the positive side, the Motorola smartphone stands out for its high-quality assembly and premium materials. Also, the device received a very bright, saturated OLED screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate. Other features include good performance thanks to the modern Snapdragon 870 5G processor and plenty of memory. In addition, the smartphone has good camera sensors that are capable of taking good pictures, both in the daytime and at night. At the same time, the disadvantages of this generation of the Edge 20 Pro smartphone can be attributed to this lack of a memory card slot and a headphone jack. In addition, I did not like that the device received only one speaker, that is, there is no stereo sound here.

The Motorola Edge 20 Pro doesn’t set bold new quality standards in any area. It’s not the most stylish, you can get more power for the same money if you want it, and low-light pictures are far from best-in-class. However, it’s one of the few mid-range phone that offers just about every bit of the £1000+ phone experience, thanks to its super-zoom 5x camera. It’s one of the most expensive-to-implement pieces of tech – and one of the most fun to use, too. Don’t care about capturing high-up autumnal leaves from the ground, or papping cute daschunds from 20m away? You can get similar performance for less elsewhere. But we’re going to miss that zoom when the Motorola Edge 20 Pro goes back in its box.

The Motorola Edge 20 Pro is an awkward phone. The main issue is the hand-feel - it's far too big to use one-handed, and has an out-of-reach side fingerprint scanner and uncomfortable angular frame. The device has a fine chipset, cameras that are impressive for a Moto phone and lots of storage, but those traits don't mean much when the phone is annoying to hold.

As I mentioned earlier, it’s all about budget. If We want to buy the Motorola Edge 20 Pro phone, but budget can be an important consideration. If you can spend 60k, it’s a great phone. Perhaps the brand’s reputation has been degraded over the course of a few years, but it doesn’t seem like they’ve stopped themselves from making spectacular phones. It really proves when you see the power of the Motorola G10 below 10k or the Motorola Edge 20 Pro at 60k. With all the demanding features, from design to the processor to camera, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro proves to be a burning sensation among smartphone lovers. It looks like it was just made to meet your high demands. With that budget, you can compare this model with the Realme Q3 Pro Carnival smartphone as an alternative option under 20k.

Qualcomm Adreno 650:
