Hybride professionnel.

The ThinkPad S1 Yoga is a very good attempt to mould an iconic laptop into a functional tablet, one that comes with our full recommendation. It’s still a bit heavy to use and operate in tablet mode only, but if you look at this primarily as an ultraportable ThinkPad with the added bonus of turning into a tablet, the experience only flatters to impress from this small perception shift. Other impressive laptops for you to check out at a similar price point are the Toshiba Portege Z30T and Acer Aspire S7.

The ThinkPad Yoga is, overall, a successful fusion of the ThinkPad philosophy with the Yoga design. It’s the most durable and business-like (not to mention the heaviest) Yoga to date, and yet simultaneously it’s also the most touch-versatile ThinkPad. It seeks to incorporate the best of both worlds into a package which both camps could appreciate.

Overall, we like this Lenovo. It's rugged and has the accurate and comfortable keyboard and pointing devices ThinkPad aficionados have come to expect. The 1080p display will make your presentations pop, and, when you throw in the Dolby-enhanced speakers, you get a great machine for watching movies.

Melding features from the consumer Yoga line and the business ThinkPad line affords the Yoga S1 a great deal of flexibility, but it comes at the cost of some core business features. With a high-quality keyboard, an attractive durable build and strong performance levels the Yoga S1 meets most of the criteria expected of a business notebook, but the device’s limited port selection is troublesome. Especially considering that Lenovo already offers the ThinkPad T440s which despite its added weight proves to be a far more practical enterprise-grade option. Instead the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1 is best for users who want to “have their cake and eat it to”. Much as the Yoga line looks bridge the divide between the laptop and tablet, the Yoga S1 looks to pair enterprise-features with a flexible consumer ultrabook design. Just be ready to concede on a few features when attempting to achieve the best of both worlds.

There are only two things we dislike about the ThinkPad Yoga. It's heavy, which will be particularly noticeable if you need to carry it a lot and/or work standing up with the notebook in tablet mode. It's also short of on-board connectors — an Ethernet port being the most glaring omission. Otherwise it's difficult to fault. The simplicity of switching to the various multimodal configurations is particularly praiseworthy, and the chassis feels sturdy enough to accommodate them for the product's lifetime.

Battery life came in at a so-so 5 hours and 40 minutes, which is slightly better than the Yoga 2 Pro's 5:29, but more than an hour less than Dell’s comparably priced and similarly equipped XPS 12 Convertible, (although the XPS 12 doesn’t have that useful pen digitizer). Business users will appreciate the ThinkPad Yoga for its rugged design, double-jointed hinge, versatile dock, better-than-average performance, and vaunted ThinkPad keyboard. Now if Lenovo could just shoehorn an ultra-high-res display into a more-attractive housing, they'd have a hybrid Ultrabook with flash as well as substance.

The ThinkPad Yoga is essentially an interesting product; it represents an effort to give business users a prettier and (literally) more flexible notebook--or to give average users a slightly more robust version of the Yoga experience, we suppose. As the former, it succeeds. You get the great multimode options to accommodate travel and presentation situations and the slightly more svelte chassis of a Yoga.

The Dell Latitude 6430u remains our top pick for business ultrabooks, thanks to its superior performance, and the Lenovo ThinkPad T440s offers equally compelling performance in a traditional clamshell design. ThinkPad Yoga is a well-designed and versatile convertible device, with a high-quality IPS display that will particularly appeal to business travelers who need to give presentations when they’re visiting clients. However, the use of a sluggish hard drive is disappointing in a laptop costing the best part of £1000.00, especially when compared to SSD-equipped models from Lenovo such as the 13-inch Yoga 2 Pro.

Aside from the smallest of niggles, this new ThinkPad has well and truly won us over. It's the same price as the consumer-orientated Yoga 2 Pro, and definitely more practical – aside from the 200g extra weight. It's cheaper than the ThinkPad Helix, and a more elegant design. It only misses out on overhauling our current A-List incumbent, the Dell XPS 12, by dint of its weight and a slightly lowlier CPU. All told, Lenovo has yet another winner on its hands with the ThinkPad Yoga: it's a simply superb business Ultrabook.

The ThinkPad Yoga is a hybrid machine with a lot to offer users as both a laptop and as a tablet, though in slate mode it is thicker than what you'd get with a traditional tablet. There is nothing ill to speak of regarding the ThinkPad Yoga -- everything about it is solid, with the exception perhaps being a lower quality stylus than what an artist would need. The construction feels solid and durable in the hands, the keyboard is comfortable for typing in long duration stints, and the hardware is capable for a variety of tasks.

The ThinkPad Yoga offers the features and performance that business users need, thanks to Windows 8.1 Pro standard and optional 802.11ac. But despite it all, this is not a focused business-class product. No-nonsense workers might be better served by a souped up ThinkPad T440s for the extra ports, or even a 13-inch MacBook Air for the added battery endurance, plus double the storage and an even lighter load for $30 less. At any rate, the ThinkPad Yoga is a Windows business ultrabook that you'll be glad to whip out on your commute, even if you don't flip it over or tent it up.

You've probably noticed that we like the ThinkPad Yoga quite a bit. At 12.5", it's slightly more portable than most 13.3" Ultrabooks, but you're not giving up that much screen real estate. In turn you're getting an extremely well built and designed machine that can handle the perils of the road, a very good keyboard, superb trackpad and robust drivers that are reliable.

If, on the other hand, you've a special place in your heart for dense, durable machines with a simple design, the ThinkPad Yoga 14 will certainly fit the bill. It doesn't deviate in any big way from other newer ThinkPads (though, of course, that Yoga flexibility is always welcomed), but it does what it sets out to do very well, and you can't beat that.

It pains me that I can't wholeheartedly recommend the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14. Barring these serious battery issues, this is an excellent laptop. Everything from the screen, to the build quality and Lenovo's usual stellar inputs are fantastic, but this machine could potentially be a lemon. Our unit was defective and, considering that there are plenty of users in the wild who have reported their own broken notebooks, this cannot be ignored.

The ThinkPad Yoga 14 is a true hybrid notebook for business, successfully combining a modern ThinkPad with a 360 degree hinge to provide tablet functionality. We found the Yoga 14’s 4.3 pound weight made it unwieldy in tablet mode, but ultimately being able to transform to a tablet is more of a bonus than anything. We gave the Yoga 14 extra points for addressing a common complaint amongst convertible notebooks by using a raiseable tray to make the keyboard a flush surface in tablet mode.

While I've been pretty positive about every Yoga product I've seen, and am sure that Lenovo will find plenty of business users eager to get a Yoga convertible that's geared for office use, the ThinkPad Yoga 14 is not ready to replace everyone's work system just yet. If you need the flexibility of a convertible-hybrid system, switching from laptop to tablet and back, then it may be worthwhile for the multimode hinge alone. On the other hand, if productivity and business-friendly features are more important, you should take a look at the Dell Latitude E7440 Touch, our top pick for business ultrabooks.

Ever since the original model in 2012, Lenovo's Yoga convertibles—and their competitors from the likes of HP, Toshiba, and Asus—have had one flaw. Lenovo brings the ThinkPad Yoga's "lift 'n' lock" keyboard, which makes tablet mode more comfortable (except for the system's weight), to a larger-screened, lower-priced convertible sold at Best Buy. I can easily recommend the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14 if you're in the market for a robustly built, yet not terribly heavy or bulky Ultrabook with a larger than average display and the versatile 360 degree multi-mode hinge. Of course, if you need the digital pen, this isn't the model for you, and the ThinkPad Yoga 12.5" model or Microsoft Surface Pro 3 are worth a look as long as you don't mind downsizing.

Business convertible. The ThinkPad Yoga fuses two of Lenovo's lines to offer professional users the 360-degree display of a Yoga convertible in a hybrid device. Is it now finely tuned or poorly twisted?

Those who haven't owned a Lenovo PC would find the Yoga 12 an option very much worth considering. Unlike some of the other models, this Yoga comes with its own stylus, allowing one to fully leverage the tablet-like position option. In addition, there are fairly powerful hardware options for those who with more demanding needs, and it is all coupled with a high-quality display and svelte but robust body.

The ThinkPad Yoga 12 is a well-built business hybrid with a durable design, bright display and great ergonomics. This 2-in-1 also happens to be one of the fastest we've tested, besting both the Surface Pro 3 and HP Spectre x360 on CPU and graphics benchmarks. However, the subpar battery life and somewhat sluggish SSD prevent the Yoga 12 from earning a higher rating.

Even with display and battery issues, there's a lot to like about the Thinkpad Yoga 12. It's fast and reliable enough to serve well as a productivity tool, and whether it's being used for work or play, the build quality and keyboard are among the best in the business. However, these qualities come at a cost; specifically, £679.99 and upwards. That's the price of the most basic model, and the test machine we used (which approaches the highest end of hardware configurations) is a cool £1,110. That makes it a luxury purchase, rather than something that can be rolled out to staff en masse.

Unlike the first time around (that would be 2003), it looks like convertible laptops—those that transform into tablets and/or other usage modes in between—are here to stay. The portability and versatility we loved are back in this second-generation, 12.5-inch ThinkPad Yoga convertible, along with faster performance. Just be careful the options you check don't push the price out of reach.

With a high-quality build and strong benchmark numbers across the board, the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 12 offers the perfect mix of performance and utility. The magnesium-aluminum chassis delivers excellent durability and a sharp, clean aesthetic. The Thinkpad Yoga’s 360-degree hinge design continues to be the best in the industry. The keyboard and touchpad are comfortable to use and the bright IPS display offers great visibility.

My personal take? A 15.6", 5 pound convertible is just too big for frequent use as a convertible. The 14" ThinkPad Yoga 14 is my cut off. You of course, may be different, and Lenovo seems to have removed the 14" model from their website, so if you want a ThinkPad Yoga bigger than the 12.5" model, it's the 15.6" model for you.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 15 may be difficult to categorize, with its combination of desktop-replacement design and convertible functionality, but the end result is a competent business laptop. Unfortunately, the convertible design feels like something of a waste in this 15-inch, 5.1-pound system, as it's far too large for tablet use, though you may get some use out of Tent and Stand modes. In the end, it's best viewed as a solid business system with touch capability. The most comparable Editors' Choice, the Apple MacBook Pro 15-Inch Retina Display, bests it in both performance and battery life, while other alternatives, like the workstation Dell Precision M3800 (2015) offer more processing muscle.

The ThinkPad Yoga 15 is a good alternative to other 15.6″ business notebooks if you’re interested in the versatility of the fold-back design. This allows the Yoga 15 to work as a tablet although you’ll find it’s quite cumbersome and heavy and probably shouldn’t be viewed as a device that can replace your iPad. Realistically it’s just not designed to be a tablet all the time. The Yoga 15 has a beautiful screen with touch, a spacious keyboard, a good clickpad and has respectable speakers.

In conclusion, we'll repeat what we said at the beginning: the ThinkPad Yoga 12 is almost perfect as a laptop that smoothly converts to tablet, tent, and stand modes. The ThinkPad Yoga 15, by contrast, is a convertible with a rougher ride—its engineering is just as fine, but its size and weight eclipse its usefulness in tablet and tent modes (although it's a great PowerPoint presenter in stand mode).

There is always the risk that a laptop built around a Core i5 with Intel graphics and Intel ac Wi-Fi will end up being a generic slab that is indistinguishable from the competition. Thankfully Lenovo takes things a step further and the look and feel of a ThinkPad are quite distinct. You get the traditional TrackPoint in the middle of the keyboard, separate mouse buttons, a OneLink connector for a Lenovo dock and a host of Lenovo utilities to keep your laptop in perfect working order.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 15 is a dynamite device that is capable of being many different things. It's a powerful laptop with a sturdy design that can be flexed into multiple different positions. Lenovo packed this 2-in-1 machine with a gorgeous screen, a solid trackpad and a healthy selection of ports. If you don't mind a few extra pounds, then this hybrid is ideal for the business user who seldom needs portability, but enjoys having the option.

The $999 ThinkPad Yoga 15 isn't just a great business convertible; it has almost everything I look for in an ideal notebook. It delivers solid performance, seriously good graphics chops for the price and long battery life, all in a package that bends and flexes to my will without breaking my back, or itself. And if you need more performance, a Core i7 CPU is just an extra $100.

Point de flexion prédéterminé. Le Yoga 260 marche-t-il sur les traces du ThinkPad X250 ? Ses différents modes d'utilisation en font-ils le meilleur ultraportable parmi les ThinkPad ? There’s only one major flaw with the Yoga 260 and that’s its display. The limited colour palette means it simply isn’t good enough for photo editing or design work, which may be a deal-breaker for some people. If that doesn’t bother you in the slightest, though, then break out the company credit card with confidence. The ThinkPad Yoga 260 is a tough, versatile and compact hybrid that’s worth every cent.

In most regards, Lenovo has absolutely nailed the Yoga 260. It's a unique but appealing combination of excellent hybrid and competent business machine, providing a decent laptop experience while also possessing the versatility to work in a variety of touchscreen configurations. Add in the built-in stylus, great build quality, largely excellent keyboard, solid performance and decent battery life, and you're onto a bit of a winner. The ThinkPad Yoga 260 is a solid 2-in-1 notebook that does indeed fill an important role in the world of business by combining a standard ultraportable Windows notebook with the convenience of a tablet. IT professionals will have a hard time finding a better 2-in-1 priced at less than $1000 that offers all the business-essential features in the ThinkPad Yoga 260. Our biggest complaints are mediocre battery life, a stunningly wide bezel and a pen that’s too small for adult hands.

Productivity-minded users will find a lot to like in the ThinkPad Yoga 260, thanks to a fantastic keyboard, touchpad and stylus combination that makes writing (or drawing) a pleasure. However, for this price, we wish the 1080p display offered richer colors and that the laptop lasted a bit longer on a charge.

Commentaire
