Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook (2021) Review
Source: USA Today Anglais EN→FR
While the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook's battery life will get you through your school or workday without a hitch, its CPU and GPU performance won’t. This device’s poor performance will most likely frustrate even the lightest Chromebook users—not to mention its glitchy trackpad and touchscreen just drive that irritation home. Sure, Chromebooks aren’t known for being the most powerful computers on the market. People buy them for their convenience and (usually) cheaper prices. But even with a relatively small price tag, the $499 you’d spend on this Duet 5 wouldn’t be worth it. We’d recommend spending roughly $100 more on Acer Chromebook Vero 514., though you’d have to be okay with ditching the touchscreen. (With the Duet 5’s lack of responsiveness, we certainly would be.) If you’re not married to the idea of owning a Chromebook, we recommend looking at the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i 14, a Windows machine that features a responsive touchscreen and much better GPU performance than the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook.

84% Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook: a tablet killer? (review)
Source: Gadgetguy Anglais EN→FR
The Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook has a 13.3-inch OLED display that is as much a tablet as it is a laptop with its removable magnetic keypad. It’s a real tablet-killer as it will run Android apps, has full internet browser functionality, and is cheaper than any other tablet and tablet-like solution for the large screen size. With most applications in the cloud, you no longer need the processing power to be in your physical device. This Lenovo Chromebook does everything the average user will need, including streaming video and video conferencing.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 or Duet 5: choose the right one for you [VIDEO]

And as more tablets enter the scene, this will all be worth remembering. Both of these form factors have a place in the Chromebook ecosystem and there are enough interested users to demand the existence of both of these tablets. I can assure you more will follow and I can assure you there is no way for a smaller tablet to fill in for a larger tablet and vice-versa. Yes, they are both tablets, but they are very different expressions of that form factor, and the more you can identify what sort of engagement you’ll have with them, the better your chances will be of choosing the right device for the job.

80% Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook review: A confident convertible
Source: It Pro Anglais EN→FR
But, crucially, the Duet 5 is twice as fast as the sometimes-sluggish Duet. It finished the Kraken JavaScript benchmark in 1,845ms, compared to the original Duet’s time of 3,940ms. And more important than such results is that this Chromebook feels reasonably snappy in daily use. So, while not the most powerful Chromebook, the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 packs enough of a punch to compete with the Chromebook pack. Along with outstanding battery life of 16hrs 20mins in our video-rundown test, a gorgeous display and a new form factor that improves on last year’s model, this machine is almost everything you could ask for in a budget Chrome OS convertible.

80% Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook review: a vision of beauty
Source: T3 Anglais EN→FR
The Lenovo Duet 5 is pretty much the perfect Chromebook. It is small and light but has enough processing power to handle most tasks and a gorgeous screen. I do wish it was more usable on the lap, though. The kickstand just doesn’t really work on your lap without a flat surface underneath it. There are also limitations from the Chrome OS itself: no direct support for popular apps like Word, and sometimes spotty support for Android apps. But Chromebooks remain the cheapest way to get into Google, and the Lenovo Duet 5 is excellent value for money compared to a same-priced Windows laptop.

80% Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook review: A compelling option in a me-too market
Source: Android Authority Anglais EN→FR
Lenovo put together a solid offering in the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook. This flexible device can act like a tablet or a laptop depending on your needs or preferences. It allows you to easily switch between modes thanks to the removable keyboard and folio design. Moreover, it’s thinner and lighter than many convertible or clamshell Chromebooks. Beyond the form factor, the hardware itself is well-conceived and manufactured. The brilliant OLED panel is a standout feature, as is the healthy 11-hour battery life. It delivers excellent wireless performance, though the Qualcomm (rather than Intel) processor does mean it’s not the best option for gaming or power users. Compared to more fully-featured Chromebooks, the Duet 5 lacks some basic features such as a headphone jack, expandable storage, and a full set of ports for accessories and multimedia devices. It’s not as sturdy as a convertible or clamshell would be and the typing experience isn’t top-notch.

Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook Review – A great device that does nearly everything
Source: Ausdroid Anglais EN→FR
Perhaps for some the cost, AU$799.00 at retail outlets, will be a sticking point for some with the argument you can buy a laptop for less. Yeah, probably but it will likely be low performance, low battery life device that won’t perform as well as this or have the lifespan. This has been an overwhelmingly positive experience with well-designed hardware and the evolution of ChromeOS. If a portable device capable of operating in a productivity or entertainment environment sounds good to you, you can check one out at your local JB Hi-Fi store or online.

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook Review: Best Chrome OS Tablet Ever!
Source: XDA Developers Anglais EN→FR
Absolutely. If you’re looking for a Chrome OS tablet, there really isn’t another one I’d recommend over the Duet 5. At a price point of $499 at Best Buy, this is the best premium Chrome OS tablet ever made. Of course, if you want to spend way less money and get a smaller, less impressive display, the original Lenovo Duet is still fine too. However, those looking for the best tablet experience with Chrome OS, you’ll want the bigger brother. The Duet 5 beats the HP Chromebook x2 11 in nearly every way, most importantly in performance, battery life, and keyboard comfort on the go. There are other nice options around $500 in the Chromebook space, like the Galaxy Chromebook 2, but those are all traditional clamshell models. If you need portability, versatility, or just want the best media consumption experience, the Duet 5 is impossible to beat. This is definitely one of the best Chromebooks from Lenovo in quite some time. The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 is a larger, more premium version of the Chromebook Duet from 2020.

Lenovo IdeaPad Chromebook Duet 5 review: Less than the sum of its parts
Source: Good Gear Guide Anglais EN→FR
The Chromebook Duet 5 is almost exactly what I asked for in a sequel to the original Duet. But, as it turns out, it's not what I wanted. It's still an excellent tablet, especially if you're looking for something that will outlast an intercontinental flight in terms of battery life. It will also play videos like a champion. But the laptop-focused design — and that awkwardly wide screen in particular — means that the Duet 5 loses major convenience points as a tablet. If you're okay with using it like a laptop most of the time and accepting its shortcomings, it's still a fantastic deal for the hardware you get. But, for most users looking for something in this form factor and price range, I'd recommend a conventional Chromebook instead.

While you can see the DNA of the Chromebook Duet in the Duet 5, it’s an astounding transformation, more reminiscent of a Pokemon evolution than a natural generational upgrade. Some of this is the larger size, which admittedly does make it less portable, but at 2.24 pounds, that’s only marginally true and well worth it if you watch videos or do any multitasking. The larger display also allows for a full-size keyboard, which is a night and day difference from the original Chromebook Duet’s Lilliputian keys. The $499 price tag for my review unit is creeping into the upper echelon of Chromebook pricing, which, particularly given the Snapdragon processor, may have some balking, but the hardware justifies that cost. From the vivid OLED display to the over 13 hours of battery life, you won’t find a Windows 11 laptop that comes close for under $500. As long as you are willing to live the Chrome OS life, and aren’t trying to run Linux on it, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 belongs on the shortlist for anyone in the market for a 2-in-1 Chromebook.

90% Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook review: A brilliant tablet for the future of Chrome OS
Source: Android Central Anglais EN→FR
I've never really understood folks who work full-time from a tablet like the iPad Pro, but the Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook feels just as much like a full-time computer as the Flex 5i, Acer Spin 514, or any traditional 2-in-1 I've used in the last three years. The experience here feels complete and solid. My only complaint here is the keyboard could be a little more solid in-lap, but otherwise, and that's a tiny, tiny complaint given everything this Chromebook does right. Best of all, since this is a Chrome OS tablet, it's going to get software updates until June 2029, meaning this could be the only computer you need for the rest of the decade. Chrome OS's tablet performance is more than ready a year after the Duet's release, and the Duet 5 may very well pave the way for the future of Chrome OS, especially for students and casual users. With a screen you have to see to believe and battery that can go all day and then some, the Lenovo Duet 5 steals from the best of both worlds. For casual computing, homework, and weekend Disney+ binges in bed, this Chrome OS tablet fits the bill perfectly.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5 Review: My Favorite Chrome Os Tablet Yet
Source: Chrome Unboxed Anglais EN→FR
While I still can’t make it my only, all-in-one Chrome OS device just yet – it won’t fully support my QHD ultrawide display at the office, which is a limitation of the Snapdragon 7c only supporting FHD external screens – this is the type of Chromebook that one day I can see myself using as both my full-time work and play device once one arrives with a tad bit more power under the hood. For what I’ve been actually using it for, though, processing power has not been an issue at all, and I think most of you watching this will find that to be the case as well. I can’t overstate how surprised I am by how much I love this tablet. Is it perfect? Nope, but it’s a whole lot of fun to use and I have absolutely no reservations when I tell you to pick one up if a larger tablet is something you’d considering. This one is pretty great, and in so many ways I think it could be just the right Chromebook for a lot of people looking for a flexible, attractive, fun device.

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook review: Best of both worlds
Source: Talk Android Anglais EN→FR
I actually really, really liked the IdeaPad Duet 5. As a Chromebook, it’s standard fare. You can do a lot on Chrome OS these days, especially since most workflows can be done via a browser anyway. Updates are simple, you can stream music in the background or watch some YouTube, and Google keeps adding and improving features to both Chrome OS and Chrome that makes it better this week than it was last week. It’s not for everyone, obviously, but you’d be surprised how much you can get away with without using Windows these days. As an Android tablet I think it’s already very fun to play with. When you get done writing or whatever else you were working on, just pop the tablet off the keyboard and go watch a movie or play a game for the night in a much more portable package that’ll hold all your favorite apps and sync up with your Google account and phone. It seamlessly integrates into Google’s ecosystem in more ways than one, and that really delivers on what I think was Google’s long-term vision for Chrome OS all along.

80% Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook review: OLED for dirt cheap
Source: Digital Trends Anglais EN→FR
Chromebooks don’t often beat Windows to market when it comes to implementing new technologies, but Lenovo’s IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook did just that. It’s the first detachable tablet with an OLED display, hitting the market just before the Asus Vivobook 13 Slate that marks the first Windows 11 detachable tablet sporting OLED technology. The IdeaPad Duet 5 is built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7c Gen 2, an ARM chip, giving it another first. It’s a larger tablet, but it’s nevertheless an alternative to other low-cost devices like the Apple iPad and Microsoft Surface Go 3. I reviewed the midrange configuration of the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook, running $500 and including the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 and a 13.3-inch 1080p OLED display. I found the tablet to punch well above its price, representing one of the best 2-in-1 tablets at this price.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook is a great value in our $499 Best Buy configuration. Sure, you'll get snappier performance from Microsoft's Core i3-powered Surface Go 3 (under Windows) or Apple's iPad Air (with iPadOS), but those are smaller tablets that will set you back $730 or $898, respectively, with their optional keyboards. And they can't match the Duet 5's dazzling OLED screen. Neither can the HP Chromebook x2, though that detachable comes with the stylus pen that Lenovo charges an extra $32.99 for. Chrome OS dictates lighter or more casual use than the array of apps available for iPadOS or Windows, but the Duet 5 will satisfy plenty of consumers and students. It deserves a place as one of our Chromebook Editors' Choice honorees.

Qualcomm Adreno 618:
