Huawei livre ici un smartphone aux qualités indéniables, tant sur la prise de vue, les performances, le design... Il n'y a vraiment pas grand-chose à lui reprocher, si ce n'est l'absence de services Google (mais ça, Huawei n'y est pour rien) et son poids supérieur à la moyenne (là, Huawei aurait pu faire quelque chose). Le P40 Pro+ est-il le meilleur smartphone de l'année ? Non diront celles et ceux qui ne peuvent pas se passer des GMS. Sans aucun doute, rétorquerons les autres. Pour notre part, il s'agit sans nul doute possible d'un excellent smartphone, si tant est que l'on accepte de passer un peu de temps à le le bidouiller.

From a hardware point of view, the Huawei P40 Pro Plus is probably one of the best smartphones available today. But the sad thing is, that’s not the end of the story. If you’re well and truly baked into Google’s Android services, it might not be possible to give them up - even for a phone with such an amazing specs sheet. Yes, the camera is nothing short of spectacular. So much so that, after just a few minutes paying around with it, you’re likely to be put in two minds as to whether you really do need Google’s apps that much. That’s going to be your main quandary here if you’re in the market for a new smartphone. But what you need to ask yourself is: are the Google apps that you’re already very dependent on worth giving up for the best smartphone camera you can get your hands on right now? We’ll leave that to you, but with an RRP of £1,299, it’s a risky decision to make.

Let's start with the bad. As far as the general experience went, my only issue was some wireless charging issues. The broader issue, of course, is outside of Huawei's control. You need to be sure that you'll be OK without Google services. For example, if you're an Uber driver for a living, you really need something with Google Maps. For me, I'm completely OK using the P40 Pro+.

Following a trade-war between the United States and China, Huawei ended up being sanctioned, with the most notable effect being that the company no longer has access to Google’s services. Last autumn, we saw the launch of the Mate 30 series, the company’s first flagship phone to ship without GMS. We had argued that those phones lacked sufficient hardware differentiation to be able to make up for the lack of Google’s services, and it would be some time before we would see Huawei’s own HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) mature to a state that represents it being a valid every-day alternative. That goal is inching ever closer as Huawei spends large resources and efforts to get developers onboard its own ecosystem.

La plupart des jeux pas trop demandants actuels peuvent tourner de façon fluide. soyez prêts à endurer un rendu graphique assez moche à cause de la basse résolution et des détails au minimum. Par ailleurs ces cartes sont suffisantes pour un travail de bureau et le visionnage de vidéos (pas évident pour la vidéo HD).
