Huawei knows a lot about tablets. The manufacturer has created a cool top-of-the-line device. It is almost perfect. It has a gorgeous large OLED screen with a frequency of 120 Hz, which displays a juicy picture. And the power reserve of the device is impressive. During the entire time of use, the tablet has never failed in any of the tasks. And there were no problems with application compatibility. Except with account identification. The new OS works very quickly. And how this novelty, with an advanced eight-speaker system, sounds: clear and loud. I didn’t turn on my speakers even once during the test. A nice bonus is reverse charging, which transforms Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 (2022) into a mat for recharging gadgets. And the autonomy of the tablet did not disappoint. The price is a bit high, but this fact should be taken for granted. If you want a top-end device, you need to be prepared. The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 with its ultimate functionality and performance to date is very close to the ideal, if it exists at all. This is definitely a successful tablet with a developed ecosystem. Supplemented with accessories, it can easily replace a laptop, becoming a powerful tool for work and entertainment. Recommended.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 was released earlier this summer as the company’s most premium tablet. With HarmonyOS, this device is the first Huawei tablet to debut with the software out of the box. This tablet has nice build quality and an amazing display. It’s battery life is among the best too. But it’s software is full of shortcomings, which makes it hard to recommend to anyone outside China. Its display is nice but it only has a 60Hz refresh rate, and the tablet’s camera system disappoints.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 is a killer tablet if you just look at the hardware, with speakers that show how much of a difference genuinely decent audio can make for mobile gaming and movie-streaming. Its screen is great and battery life is long. However, it’s impossible to ignore that the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 feels a bit like what you’d get if Amazon decided to make a really, really expensive Fire HD tablet. Huawei and Amazon tablets don’t get the Google Play app store, and that means access to games and apps is severely limited. You can only get around this so much by side-loading apps, itself a security risk, so bear that in mind before deciding the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 is a better deal than an iPad Pro 12.9 or Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+.

The Huawei MatePad Pro (2021) is a slick piece of hardware that certainly stands out as one of the more capable tablets around. With blazing-fast processing, a crisp vibrant display, and a decent stylus, the core package offers everything you’d want and helps to justify the price tag. Despite app procurement still being a mess, Huawei seems more eager to push its multimedia ecosystem front and center to better compete with the likes of Apple, Google, and Samsung. But at the moment, the services have neither the content nor the refinement to command premium subscription prices. The company also seems to think users like to be bombarded with notifications, emails, and texts from its advertising partners. Huawei might want the ad money, but this has the adverse effect of cheapening its tablet experience and interfering with the core usability of its apps.

Now you’d most likely consider a Pro tablet like this as an alternative for a laptop, and it can do so even without a Desktop Mode available. Just be ready to consider using other office apps that aren’t Google to be more efficient. So yes, if you highly rely on Google apps, then I don’t really recommend this one unless you’re willing to adapt. It has a more reasonable price for its specs than Apple’s iPad Pro; however, it still falls down to the lack of Google Mobile Services. This would’ve been the best Android tablet yet. But we’ll never know with Huawei, the development of HarmonyOS was a big step, and who knows what further improvements they can make.

Considering the MatePad's relatively high price in markets outside of China, that's going to make it a tough sell for a lot of people. Huawei is asking for iPad money, without anything close to what Apple's tablet ecosystem can offer. It's early days for HarmonyOS, and there are some promising signs in what Huawei has managed to build here. But unless you've already fully bought into the Huawei world across all of your devices.

It should come as no surprise that my final verdict on the Huawei MatePad Pro (2021) is pretty much the same as any other Huawei device I’ve reviewed over the last couple of years. The United States’ foreign policy isn’t Huawei’s fault, of course, but the consequence is still the same. No matter how great the hardware is, the lack of Google Play means it remains an infuriatingly tough sell outside of China. Sure the price is tempting and it’s absolutely up to snuff in every other area but the MatePad Pro’s current software will leave you wanting more.

Our review for the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 in the Philippines shows that it’s a great tablet on its own, though many of the enhancements that HarmonyOS bring give it that extra push especially on the multitasking front. It’s a powerful tablet that has a great screen, though it still has the same familiar problems that plagued their earlier devices. Even though Huawei contends the tablet uses a brand new OS, it still relies on Android apps to do anything useful, and like before if your workflow relies on any app that uses GMS, you should steer clear. This is a shame – the hardware on offer in the MatePad Pro 12.6 is incredibly compelling. Though if you’re willing to put in the work to find equivalents or replacements to the stuff you use on Huawei’s AppGallery and Petal Search Engine, the result is that you get to enjoy one of the best tablets available in the market today. At least, if you have the money for it.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 (2021) truly is a marvel. Anyone who needs a tablet for anything creative would, and should, be desperate to get their hands on one. Unfortunately though, because it runs on Harmony OS 2, you’re very limited in which apps you can download from the Huawei AppGallery. So for a lot of people, it just won’t be right.

Some people favour proper desktop PCs, while others prefer laptops for doing their work. Of course, this depends on a person's requirements and preference. But you don't actually need a Windows or Mac computer to do your work these days. A tablet is just as capable and more portable! Having said that, what tablet should you get to get that would benefit you the most? In cases like this, you'll probably want a flagship model like the HUAWEI MatePad Pro. Not only does it offer powerful hardware but it also has useful features. This time around, we want to discuss 4 ways powerful flagship tablets like the HUAWEI MatePad Pro can boost your productivity.

The MatePad Pro 12.6 represents a return to form for Huawei. The excellent display and speakers, smooth performance and polished interface make the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 a surprisingly worthy contender, more so for its sub-RM4,000 price tag inclusive of its Smart Magnetic Keyboard and M-Pencil stylus. Short of highly specialised applications or a very Google-centric workload, the MatePad Pro 12.6 is able to meet the needs of most mainstream users in Malaysia, made more so by its surprisingly decent price tag for a premium tablet.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 is one easily likable tablet for its attractive design, great OLED screen, fast performance, powerful speakers, incredible battery life and capable HarmonyOS. Huawei is definitely on the right track with the Android-based operating system and has spruced it up with enough features to make it tablet-worthy. M-Pencil works great, too, and if you like drawing, you'll like it how it's done on the MatePad Pro.

As much as we enjoy Huawei's HarmonyOS software for getting work done, the MatePad Pro's 12.6-inch display and versatility of the added stylus and keyboard, there are a couple of things that'll likely stop people from buying one compared to an Apple iPad. First: it's not readily available at time of writing, so you can't actually buy it. Second: being based on Android means you don't get the same level of apps that an iPad enjoys. Add to that the fact that Huawei's AppGallery still lacks a lot of popular games, and it limits the experience somewhat. However, if what you're after is a tablet to help you get work done, and you're an Office 365 user, or don't mind going down the APK route to install apps like Paper by Dropbox or Slack, then the usability and flexibility of this Huawei tablet as a work machine might just make the compromises worth it.

At the accessory level, the touch keyboard and stylus have completed another round of iterations, which makes Huawei the only manufacturer in the tablet market that is still confronting Apple head-on. At present, I believe everyone has heard about the difficulties that Huawei has encountered in recent years from the external environment. Under such a predicament, Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6-inch is still able to achieve more powerful technology and functions than before. HarmonyOS has begun to take shape. Both software and hardware are presented to users with a very high degree of completion, which is very valuable.

Huawei has been smart. It’s recognized Android tablets suffer from poor, phone-optimized interfaces that pale when compared to iPadOS. So while the MatePad Pro can’t compete on app support, with some inspired (by Apple and Microsoft) enhancements that transform the Android tab experience, it does something great. Use it more like a Chromebook-style browser-focused device rather than a traditional Android tablet (manageable, given its big screen), and this could be the first Huawei device running Android in over a year that isn't crippled by the app experience.

Commentaire
ARM Mali-G78 MP22:
