Critiques pour le/la Dell Inspiron M101z
The Lady in Red. From Dell comes the small 11.6" AMD subnotebook that leaves netbooks with Intel Atom processors out in the cold. Is the Dell Inspiron M101z subnotebook the sought-after answer to weak netbooks or simply another product in Dell's portfolio?

The M101z is priced at Rs. 29,900, which is probably one of the cheapest price brackets for a notebook. However, you have better performing notebooks like the IdeaPad Z570 which can score way better in performance and will only cost you a few thousands more. Also there’s a chance that if you like or want the portability that the M101z offers, you should rather go for a netbook like Toshiba’s NB520 which won’t give you as good a performance but at the same time will cost a lot less.

Although the Dell Inspiron M101z is a promising 11-inch thin ultraportable laptop under Rs. 30,000, it still comes across as expensive. Unless you settle for an M101z which sells at Rs. 20,900. But should you be doing that right now? After the AMD Fusion APU launch earlier in India, we don't think so. We think AMD Fusion APUs are going to be big in the thin and light laptop segment, improving on the current Inspiron M101z laptop's performance benchmarks.

Still, if the price is really that off-putting, you can save a fair bit of cash by opting for one of the less generous configurations on offer. Drop down to 2GB of memory, a single core Athlon II Neo K125 and a 320GB hard disk, and you can pick up an Inspiron M101z for a much more reasonable $699. It might be up against some tough competition in the value laptop category, but the Dell Inspiron M101z is pretty, practical and portable, and more than deserving of a recommendation.

Want something which offers better performance than your regular netbook? The Dell M101z is one of the best laptops that offers you the best of both worlds. It combines the best parts of netbooks and notebooks. If you need a more powerful netbook with a bigger display and better performance, but just as portable, the Dell M101z is your best option. Totally recommended.

Overall, the Dell Inspiron M101z is a dependable little 11.6in laptop that's comfortable to use for the most part and it has decent features — including 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, VGA, three USB 2.0 ports, a webcam, and 10/100 Ethernet. We think it's a good choice for anyone who wants an inexpensive ultraportable, but one with better performance and usability than a typical 10in netbook.

I enjoyed my time with the Dell M101z, but as I often find to be the case, the M101z stumbles not because it is bad but instead because there are other products that are slightly better. Still, the M101z’s fabulous display and great audio does make a case for itself. For example, students should consider this laptop because it is pleasurable to use in a lecture hall as in a dorm room. Buyers who need maximum battery life, however, will need to consider a different ultraportable.

Somewhere between a netbook and an ultra-portable laptop. Dell has chosen to put its faith in the AMD Vision platform for the conception of an ultra that is both economical and with sufficiently high performance for office doc and internet usage. While they have succeeded in doing this, battery life is too limited for this type of machine.

This netbook sports the power and design of a standard size basic laptop, but in a small netbook size. Battery life is very good, may not be the 10 hours the more under powered netbooks have, but still decent. With the optional 90 w/hr battery you can easily have the 10 hours of use. Price wise this laptop was $ 600.00 plus taxes, which puts it well above the netbook price, but the not that much higher than the other 11" screen netbooks.

Dell's Inspiron M101z delivers a lot of power in a compact, easy-to-carry and rather attractive chassis.

The Inspiron M101z is another portable system from Dell which proves the days of bland grey boxes are long gone. With a selection of high quality finishes available for their latest system users are presented with a high level of build quality as soon as they unbox the system. This continues when inspecting the system as it is immediately apparent that the M101z is a sturdy system with little flex.

But that noted, we like the Dell Inspiron M101z a lot. Decent video playback, combined with enough power to run key apps without flinching, makes it useful. The wonderful keyboard and touchpad make it easy to use. And while it could use a little more muscle and a lot more juice, it is a little tiny laptop for under £400. we're happy to take it adventuring.

The M101z is so neatly packaged that Dell can legitimately start to compete with Sony on its own territory, and that's quite an achievement.

Dell has produced an outstanding portable laptop in the Inspiron M101z. It doesn't quite match Intel-based systems for battery life, but it's not embarrassed by them and the build quality, features and usability of the M101z is a cut above.

There's plenty to like when it comes to Dell's Inspiron M101z. As far as 11.6in notebooks go, it's one of the best-looking and best-built systems we've come across. The chassis is rigid and finished with style and smooth curves, and both the keyboard trackpad are a pleasure to use. Despite the system's ultra-portable dimensions, both the display and the built-in speakers manage to impress, and the AMD innards are capable of providing a snappy user experience that's superior to Intel Atom-based machines of this size.

It took us a while to look beyond the M101z's pink shell, but when we did we came to really like the little guy. Er, girl. Of all the 11.6-inch machines we've reviewed lately, it provides the best combination of build quality, performance and graphics capabilities for the price. (We should note, a similarly configured HP Pavilion dm1 costs about $100 less, but we haven't reviewed it yet). Sure, it's a bit thicker than the others (and we still can't help but be disappointed by AMD's power-thirsty platforms), but if you can deal with only four or so hours of juice, then the M101z won't disappoint those looking for a... well, we still don't know what to call the category.

The dividing line between Netbooks and laptops has long been a fuzzy one, as Intel's Atom CPUs have migrated into 11-inch and even larger systems, while other 10- and 11-inch models have added alternative CPUs, graphics hardware, and high-resolution displays. Dell's latest take on the Mini line is a dual-core AMD-powered 11-inch system that leaves Netbooks in the dust in terms of both power and price.

These days the market certainly isn't lacking AMD-powered ultraportables, but the Dell Inspiron M101z is among the best models we've tested. It has a cooler look than the ThinkPad X100e while offering better performance and slightly longer battery life. We also like this laptop's keyboard and SRS-powered speakers. Still, $579 is a little steep considering that the 11.6-inch Acer Aspire 1810TZ can be had for around the same price (or less), which boasts even more speed and well over 8 hours of battery life. Nevertheless, for those seeking netbook-like portability with more oomph, the M101z combines good looks, impressive sound quality, and a comfy typing experience.

I really like the Dell Inspiron M101z a lot. I was surprised to see that it didn't score as high as the Acer Aspire One 521 in some benchmarks, because it feels very zippy, and unlike the Acer laptop the Dell has a full sized keyboard and a larger 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel HD display.

Though its size is the same as that of a netbook, the Dell Inspiron M101z is more powerful, though it falls short against its CULV counterparts.

Commentaire
ATI Radeon HD 4225:
