Intel P8400

Le Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 est un dual core pour portable. Il possède une cadence de 2.26 GHz et un cache de niveau 2 de 3 Mo. A cause du cache plus faible (Les Core 2 Duo T possèdent en général 6 Mo à cette fréquence), Avec le TDP de 25 Watt (au lieu des 35 Watt des modèles T).

Les performances du P8400 est à égalité avec le Turion II Ultra de 2.4 à 2.6 GHz. Des jeux récents comme Supreme Commander seront limités au niveau du CPU. Les joueurs choisiront au moins un Core 2 Duo (ou Core i5 / i7).

Le P8400 est un Penryn (Montevina) avec 2 unités intégrées, 1 unité de calcul à virgule flottante, 1 unité de chargement, et 1 store unit avec un pipeline à 14 étapes. Grâce au Wide Dynamic Execution Technology, qui permet l'usage de 4 coeurs.

Le Enhanced Speedstep baisse la fréquence à 800 Mhz pour économiser de l'énergie.

Le Core 2 Duo P8400 s'utilise dans un Socket P de 479 broches: Socket P / Micro Flip-Chip Pin Grid Array (Micro-FCPGA) qui demande 479-broches pour les Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) sockets (mPGA479M socket) ou Micro Flip-Chip Ball Grid Array (Micro-FCBGA) (479-broches).
